It's weird for top nations to go outside their countrymen. Of course if there's no one else who's suitable, by all means. Just something you usually wouldn't see. Or maybe my impression is off.

The press and everybody already said to put the pride aside and think of soccer, we have deep changes to make. None Brazilian coach is reliable IMO. 2018 is getting farther that way.

2018 will be difficult. I look forward to the new brazilian team but there are many positions where I don't see good talents. Like goalkeeper and striker.

TC or TD is hardly an assistant, i would say it is more like a link between the sport side including Felipao and your Confederacao, at least if he really does the job that the term suggests.
You could also get Dunga back of course.

I also agree with his statement when he say

CBF said that a foreign coach is possible, but I doubt they will do it given how they announced it: "it is not the first option, it's not the priority". If they get a Brazilian coach and he goes well, good, but if not... I wouldn't like to be CBF at that moment.

Maradona is fanboy, but not that much. It was a joke, Robben deserved much more.

I already said it, Robben deserve it and it's not even close. He was an absolute beast. Some would give it to james rodriguez but he played 2 games less and for me, it's important.

Now, if FIFA really wanted to award the golden ball to a finalist, Neuer was a solution.

What means "maintain the status quo"? Continue losing? They lose money with this, you know.
If they want to reach 2018 World Cup, they should start thinking of soccer.

The problem isn't the coach of the national team, the whole structure from top to bottom has to change... it takes time and money. 'But CBF wants to keep making money for no other reason than making money. They have Neymar and in a few years they'll have someone else too.

They'll chose a coach that has more public appeal while not changing nothing at all... and so it goes. Anyway, that's not a discussion to have in english right after waking up

Nope, absolutely correct. Top teams usually go for countrymen, there are only a few exceptions. Germany always had German coaches, Italy always had Italian coaches, Brazil always had Brazilian coaches if i am not mistaken. Argentina had 2 Italian coaches at one point respectively but that´s just an exception.
Well, England had Eriksson and Capello while Portugal had Scolari but you can´t really count them as top teams .

It's pretty simple, language barriers is a big key for international teams, and culture ofc, but that's not a factor I want to talk about. For Portugal Scolari had good ties to Portuguese football, and as Brazilian talked Portuguese and was thus a good match. I wouldn't have wanted an Italian coach for Portugal, as an example.

Well, yeah, who wouldn't be upset when someone marries your daughter, fathers a kid, and then ditches her? I still see Sergio with the kid, so I assume that he and the ex-wife aren't on the worst of terms, otherwise she would've left England.
