It seems like that would work better if you were emission though. The main point of the ability would be the emitted nen so your hatsu would not take advantage of the fact that you are primarily a manipulator. To boot if you are talking about shapes your hatsu would require transmutation. It would be pretty basic but if you are a manipulator then you will be very far away from transmutation. Your hatsu works although it would befit an emitter more than a manipulator. Maybe you could use actual iron sand?
If I were a Transmuter, I could only transmute my aura to a magnetic force, and conjure Iron Sand. Maybe I could use real Iron Sand if I could lug around an entire gourd of it...
The thing is, with my ability, Emission is a very low part of it, only to create the particles. The manipulation allows me to do whatever I want with it. But yeah, I guess that an Emitter might pull it off better than I.

Well, perhaps manipulation or emission would work well although with slightly different results.

With emission as your primary element you would get to maintain the force of the nen thingies at all times. You might even get bonus damage or strength from the hatsu benefits users sometimes get. Like when the manga said franklin got stronger nen bullets from cutting the tip of his fingers or what gon does with rock.

With manipulation as your primary element you would perhaps get more precise control over the pellets. It would be easier to construct things out of the pellets. Not sure how a hatsu bonus would work here although odds are you would be at a disadvantage in terms of offensive capacity against other fighters. In this case your ability might be better for things not related to fighting that require a more finesse. To put it in perspective, imagine being up against an emitter. If you attack being a manipulator you would be at 80% while the emitter will probably be at over 100% thanks to the hatsu thing. Even if you have your hatsu bonus going on you would still be at a disadvantage because it would be quite optimistic for you to get at 100% while the enemy is at any given point at over 100% at least.

So depending on what you want, I would argue you need emission ideally for fighting and manipulation for anything else.

Conjuring iron sand and controlling it via transmuted magnetism sounds cool although I am not sure of how useful it would be. If you really plan to use it at a range you would need emission which is weak for transmuters. So you would be limited to using it at close range which can perhaps be made to be very effective. Perhaps something like palms' hair technique which made a good armor (enough that she didn't have to worry about defense). You could use the transmuted nen to control the sand and make it into an armor which you can manipulate at will. You are close enough to enhancement too which should be very effective too. Reinforce the sand and you have a killer defense and offense added to the natural properties of the iron. In one go you can turn your sand armor into a reinforced blade or fist.... You can presumably do something similar with the original alternative though and it would be pretty effective too.

Re: Hunter x Hunter Chapter 347 Discussion/ 348 Predictions

About leol's water, was he really conjuring it? Because just as he died his ability disappeared but not the water... If his ability disappeared then conjured water should have disappeared too. I doubt the water was the sort of nen that sticks, it didn't seem to do that at all. Perhaps the water simply being controlled by the conjured items? It had some limitations that could have aided with that IIRC.
Leol did conjure the water but only by using the surfboard. He didn't need any focus to keep the water conjured but rather the surfboard because it had other abilities and required more mental energy.

Dunno, for me the situation is weird. Overall, did we see any clear evidence that the water was conjured? The manga chapter is not particularly clear about that and the anime is somewhat ambiguous on whether the water came out of nowhere or from somewhere. The ability itself has the limitation that it can only be used in rainy days.

My thoughts on this whole water issue
I dont have a problem with the conjuration of water, it is already proven possible (leol), it just needs a condition
an infinite amount of water that lasts an infinite amount of time is too powerful
Water is only 'simpler' than chains and vacuums because a clear complete mental image already exists in the user's mind, this doesn't mean you can conjure more
you can conjure more simply because the same volume of water and iron or whatever has less mass of water (less total conjured subatomic particles)

I am under the impression that materialized nen objects cannot exist 'forver,' like Kortopi's 24 hr limit, or if a conjurer were to get knocked out/die, the nen object should disappear (after any death nen grudges are enacted). I dont know if conjured stuff also dematerializes when the user goes to sleep, or stops actively willing the nen. So drinking water that will dematerialize seems risky to me

Say you sell your water like you wanted to and everyone is drinking that, and for some reason your ability gets canceled (u die/get knocked out/your nen gets stolen/your nen gets blocked/you lose your nen/etc.), all of this h2o dematerializes and everyone who has bought from you instantly dehydrates and dies or is in a lot of danger
From a business standpoint this is probably bad and very risky (lawsuits/loss of consumer/loss of company credibility)
Based on the condition for your ability (which is much needed) whether it be a certain volume/day, certain amount of time of existence, or another misc. condition, it will limit and probably end your business plan

A while ago, I was thinking about something like this, say a conjured water molecule was in the body, and some type of reaction occurs, can the molecule even undergo a reaction? say it can and a hydrolysis rxn occurs and the conjured h's and o are split up and in molecules with other real atoms, say the conjurer dematerializes the ability and these atoms disappear, then what happens, the molecules lacking whatever atom disappeared now is in a highly reactive state or something and bad things happen, idk, im thinking about this too much lol, its probably that conjured molecules cannot react as normal real molecules, which would mean that drinking your water would accomplish nothing, you could make it a commodity with the taste transmution i guess, but why not just buy the normal drink lol
It wasn´t stated in detail but I get where you get that from. We have no idea how long conjured things can last, but they are brought into existence and are self sustainable, so they should be able to exist until they are broken or in our case used up.

Kortopi has that 24 hours limit because he can basically create anything he can get his hands on, although it remains to be seen if he/she (I can´t remember now) can copy conjured items.

That would be the case if my ability was a Transmuter, but as a Conjurer an already conjured water exists even after my death.

Condition is not needed at all. You see condition is for people who need some kind of boost, let it be in battle, to make up for lack of time (they are in a hurry like Kurapika), to make up for a lack of a talent (a very tangible thing in this manga), but basically the more training and skill you have in Nen, the less conditions you need to set. I am working on the assumption that I need to train a lot for my ability precisely to circumvent these limitations and conditions.

Sadly we will never get an answer to that. Ever. Togashi is obviously done with the normal Nen system, he already moved on the ability Nen system, it is going to be all Hatsus from now on

Another ability that I thought of, but this is rather sadist and disturbing:

Name: Bone Picker (Conjuration)

Description: Conjure a pair of gloves. When the glove touches an organic life form, it will bypass it BUT the bone. When the bone is touched, it will temporarily has the same effect of the glove. That means, the bone will fall out of the person's body. I do not consider the joint as bone.

This is used to severely cripple a person and disarm him. I'm not sure if I should make this ability able to restore the bone back to the person's body.

Hmm, okay... How about this:

I send my aura to break an object into pieces so small, it doesn't matter what the object originally was; it'll be the same quality (like calculus!). I could then manipulate it how I like. I could use emitted aura to strengthen it, but only under the condition that I strengthen it for battle purposes only

Okay, I registered just to post on this thread. I have a lot of interesting ideas about my own hatsu in different nen categories.
First is Manipulator.

Name: Body Hack
Category: Manipulator
This is how it works, before my hatsu activates I must meet this three conditions first. I must able to punch somebody with my dominant hand and they must felt 60% or more damage. After meeting this conditions I must tell my opponent how my hatsu works. This is how my hatsu work; every time I land two consecutive hits and it should be in a different movable body parts that causes 20% or more damage to the opponent. His or Her control of that body parts will switch, (For example: when I hit him/her in the face first and on my following attack hit him on the left arm his control on that body parts will switch. When he is going to move his head his left arm will moved instead and vise versa). After I made the first switch I can start all over again and again. After I switched the movement's of these body parts, head, two arms and the two legs, he will be paralyzed and cannot move. Remember I must hit him in two consecutive attack in different movable body parts in order to do a switch, that is if I hit him on the head and on my following attack hit him on the chest, it is not counted for switch. If he lands a two consecutive hits to any part of my body and I felt 40% or more damage, the last switch that I made will cancel out and if he keeps landing a hit on me until all of the switch is canceled out the switch will affected me instead. In order to cancel out the switch on myself I just need to land two consecutive hit on him in different movable body parts. If it happens that in the middle of the battle one of us run away and he's out of my En's ranged the effect of my hatsu will temporarily deactivate, until he is in my ranged again. If he is out ranged for 30 minutes, the hatsu will deactivate completely. This is just the summary of my hatsu, next time I will do the enhancer.

Hum, question.

The 60% is over the total amount of damage of someone (I will say HP just because it's easier to grasp it like this) or in relation of the attack itself?

Can it work with two different bodies?

^ You say 60%, 20%, 40% damage, but what are they relative to? What does "100% damage" mean?

When you said two different bodies, do you mean two different people? Lets say that if I have two opponent, A & B, my hatsu will still work on them but I must still need to meet the conditions before my hatsu activates. For example, if I hit the opponent A first and met the conditions my hatsu will activate on him and if I hit the opponent B next and met the conditions my hatsu will then activates on him without canceling the effect of my hatsu on opponent A because they are different bodies. Also I don't need to repeatedly tell them how my hatsu works if they already heard it the first time when I told the opponent A.

Let me explain the percentage further. Imagine Gon has an aura capacity of 1,000 and used all of that aura to defend him self from my physical attack, so in other words he uses 100% of his aura to defend him self. Now, lets just say that I have an aura capacity of 2,000 and used 1,600 of that aura to attack Gon, which is 60% more than Gon's defense aura. 1,600 - 1,000 = 600. So 600 of my aura was able to penetrate Gon's defence and damage him. 600/1,000 x 100 = 60%, which is the minimum required in order to activate my hatsu.

In other scenario, Gon has the 2,000 aura capacity and used all of it to defend him self from my physical attack, on the other had, I only have 1,000 aura capacity and used all of it to attack Gon. In this case I am screwed, my hatsu won't activate because his defense is two times greater than my attack.

Im really likin body hack, the shenanigans u could pull with that would be awesome

Also

Hatsu: Nen Eraser
Nen: Materialization
Description: Can conjure an eraser (like the pink pearl ones) of varying size based on how much nen is used, this eraser can absorb nen into as it is rubbed in contact with nen. CANNOT absorb materialized nen, if contact is made with a materialized nen object or a normal non-nen object, they will clash normally, and the eraser will bend like a normal eraser. Akin to a normal eraser the shavings still have the graphite on them, these eraser shavings still have the nen on them so its recoverable by its owner. The larger the eraser that was conjured, the longer the user has to wait before another can b conjured.
This can be used offensively to erase nen off of an opponent and strike at the opening, or defensively to block a nen inforced attack or nen projectile (must be moving the eraser to actually rub the incoming attack)
More powerful nen will be much more slowly absorbed by the eraser
Razor's spike would probable use a body sized eraser and would make the user wait a few hours before another can be summoned
While some of Hisoka's bungee gum could be erased with a much smaller eraser
And on the other hand, Gon's nen curse would require an eraser so large that it would be almost impossible to move and another eraser would take several decades to summon and it would use so much energy the user would be in much danger

---------- Post added at 08:56 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:14 PM ----------

Another

Hatsu: Jamming Wave
Nen: Specialization/Emission
Description: Non-vocal noises made by the user will emit waves that mess with anyone in the range's ability to use nen (the range is represented by being able to hear the noise well). snaps, claps, tongue clicks (i can do it very loudly) all work and have different ranges. The effect lasts for 10 seconds. So for 10 seconds, those affected basically cannot use nen, however any nen already in place will be unaffected (materialized objects, emitted objects, etc). Problem is the user is also in the range of any of the noises so is always affected when ability is used.
The point of this ability is either to sneak up on and catch a nen user by surprise or to level the playing field with someone who has an OP nen ability

I think you need to add some conditions to the nen eraser. Even if the amount of eraser you would need to erase nen varies it is still a pretty complicated ability. Keep in mind that the only succesful nen erasing we have seen so far comes from a specialization user... Conjured items in particular just don't work on stuff, you need meaningful pledges to make them viablej. Take kurapica, without his pledges and whatnot his chains are just chains....

Not sure about jammin wave though. How exactly are those inhibiting the opponents ability to use nen? Are they forcing zetsu? It kinda seems like too hax an ability to work that easily even as a specialization. In a way you are imposing nen on someone and so far that seems to be a complicated deal.

I thought of Shinji's shikai when I read your hatsu... sounds awesome!! I could see a character like Hisoka love being hit by that, because he would welcome that type of challenge.

I was thinking it was more along the lines of tsunade's gig. I do like the ability, it seems like a lot of fun and deadly. Its only real weakness would be against enhancers as the ability requires you to deal a minimum amount of damage. So to use it you would have to be pretty exceptional at hand to hand combat (which is usually a requirement for nen users anyway). Still, if you fight someone a lot stronger than you you would be kinda helpless. A fun bit to add, use your ability on yourself for a nen boost kinda like when shalnark controls himself. The more things you chance in yourself, the stronger the boost.

1. Patient punch
Category: Emission? (slightly unsure where this would fit)
User hits the opponent or object. The object or recipient will be unaffected; they cannot receive any damage or feel anything from it. I think it's best represented using values like hakoware. So if the punch was delivered and was at a value of 50, every minute the value will double until the user decides for the punch to arrive. If however the value of the punch reaches an amount of nen that the user cannot actually deliver, the damage is then directed at the user. This can me used in a close range and mixed with regular punches to confuse the opponent (with short delays or something just to throw them off) or as a hit and run technique where the user runs away until he attack is strong enough to beat them in one blow. Since the hit can only be perceived by sight (they don't feel it or receive damage. The punch hasn't technically "landed"), it would be a great stealth attack. If the user isn't seen delivering the blow or even if the blow was initially weak, disguised as something else like a friendly pat on the back or something, then it's a stealthy time bomb really since its power grows over time.
1.5 (continuation from above) Keen Punch
This is the opposite of the above and counts as a Nen loan. The user doesn't have to wait and can deliver any value of attack immediately BUT the user is restricted to zetsu for the double the amount of minutes of which he would have had to have waited if the punch delivered was a value of 1 but in days instead ( so normally, if he delivered a 10 value punch and waited for 10 minutes it would be 5120 (don't check my maths). If he used Keen punch, he would be using zetsu for just over 26 days.(don't check my maths)). Not only that but the user also pays by shortening his lifespan by the same amount of days (if you think this is too lenient, i'm open to suggestion).

2.Nensmith
Category: Specialist
The user can make weapons based on Nen abilities of other users. The user uses a 'clients' nen and his own to create a random weapon which uses an 'extension' of the clients ability and complements it. The user cannot make a weapon for himself. Weapons created by him cannot be used against him. One can be made per client. The weapons may be a 'living' thing which is animated by the wielder's nen. Every now and then there can be duds which have useless or detrimental abilities. To use the weapon the user must pour his aura into it. The weapon uses requires a lot of nen to use: 10% of wielder's maximum aura capacity is drained every 10 mins. An example of what I mean by extension is say if a weapon were made for Killua, it could be something like a lightning rod that attracts electric currents and can direct them around (natural ones and his own). Or say if Gon received a weapon it could be an item which performs jajaken at the same time as him and creates a compound attack like paperrock (an emitted version of rock with the same power). Though the best part of the ability is that weapons can be exchanged between clients. There will be some weapons which aren't too specific...something simple like a flame sword or something which might be useful for a nen user who doesn't specialize in combat or something. The user cannot make weapons for himself but he can use weapons he has made but he cannot seek them, he must acquire them by chance OR the original client must have died. (So he can't make a weapon and then find the owner and buy it off him or make a weapon having made a deal with the client before hand for the client to give it to him or something. The weapons are not made with the creators use in mind.) If the user does come across a weapon though he has special privileges when it comes to it's use. It only uses 1% of his maximum nen capacity every 10 minutes rather than the usual 10% every 10 minutes. If the client whose nen was used to make a weapon dies and has particularly strong nen then nen weapon can change and become stronger but then they drain more nen (like a cursed weapon).
I'm open to suggestions if you have any. If anything is unclear, let me know.

I love both techniques. And the last one seems plausible after what we have seen in the manga. :O

Omnipotence (自分の目的に環境を使う(オムニポテンス), lit. meaning "Using the environment for personal objectives")(Manipulation): I weave my aura into any part of the environment I'm in and then disassemble it into tiny pieces. It will be broken down to the point where each particle is microscopic, to the point where they will all have the same density no matter what the original object was. In order to use this technique, I must touch the thing I would like to disassemble with my body (clothes don't count). I also cannot move from the position I'm in when I disassemble the matter. Additionally, I must have a goal in mind when I use it, and when that goal is fulfilled, I will no longer be able to manipulate those specific particles ever again. The strengths of this technique is to be able to use anything to battle my opponent, and create anything I want from those grains. Of course, a disadvantage would be that if I want to create something like a hammer, I would have to memorize the intricate details of the hammer, which is quite difficult for me. It's based off of Iron Sand from Naruto.

Puppet Summon (自分の目的に人々を使う(パペットサモン) lit. meaning "Using people for personal objectives")(Manipulation): I can summon people from wherever they are and manipulate them to fight battles for me. First, I must explain these two principles of the technique:
1. This ability allows me to summon and use you whenever I want, and you can't do a thing about it.
2. I have 3 conditions for to use the technique. Explaining these principles is one. I must also touch your body, and you must, at least, have the thought of resistance. I can only use Puppet Summon when fighting. If you die before or during battle, I will not be able to control them anymore. Also, I have a limit of 10 puppets. If I use them all up, I lose this technique forever. However, if I replace the puppet, I can retain it.

The other conditions were as mentioned above. If my target at least thinks ,"I can't let this guy touch me," the second condition will be fulfilled. And when I use my target to fight, I can only use the Puppet Summon. If I try to use my other abilities, I will never be able to use this technique again. During the technique, I can use my target's abilities, but as said before, the only technique I can use in my repertoire is the Puppet Summon. The only freedom from this technique is death, or exorcising the Nen on your body. Finally, I can only have a collection of 10 puppets. If all those puppets die, I lose this ability forever. But of I replace the dead puppet with another, I can retain it (so the most likely way I'll lose my technique is if the same person defeats all puppets). Oh, and I should mention I cannot replace any puppets until they die, and not by my hand.

^ Nice techniques. Though Puppet Summon seems kind of haxxed and the conditions aren't really that troublesome.
