The old chairman having the "catch the ball" game was such an obvious Bell Test inspiration... Second Chuunin Exam Stage was basically another version of the 4th Hunter Exam Stage. Scrolls instead of Cards. Well there's more but I really chuckled when I watched the ball game.

Yeah can't be denied that Naruto took a lot of inspiration from Hunter x Hunter, but after the Exam they start to differ more and more. That's when Hunter x Hunter really starts to shine. I guess you like what you saw so far?

It's known that Kishi is a big fan of Togashi's work. Perhaps the ninjutsu system has taken some inspiration from HxH as well, I'd have to judge better when I actually LEARN about it. Still nothing about it really. Gon still has zero techniques or anything. As long as it's not total rip-offs it's OK. Obviously the "tournament" format isn't exactly unique to HxH either. So all "newer" works get inspiration from somewhere. But some obvious tributes is really nice to see, like the ball game vs bell test for example.

Leorio-san is probably my favorite character. So hilarious and so noob xD Love that guy.

The difference really isn't that high between other participants and even then it barely makes for 1/3 of your posts. Not like I really care mate, not sure why you went all serious =) I mean if you have fun that's great.

You won't see any real "techniques" during the Exams, that's coming afterwards. Not sure if I would say Kishi took inspiration from Togashi's system there, it's a bit too different for that. Taking inspiration is only natural anyway, not a bad thing.

Leorio fan? XD Well the guy is great, but I think I prefer Gon and Killua. It depends on what you want, no one beats Leorio when it comes to being hilarious

Uh, I think it was 31, too lazy to check. Hmm, my impressions are good. There's not awfully much to say, hence why I've just said some things I found good/funny. I like the characters. The music and animation is great. But it's the story you want my impression on, and I find it good too. So far it's nothing "best shounen ever" impression for me. It's a great story, but I always knew that would be the case anyway. It's a pretty standard shounen build up, if you can call it that, which is well told. It's too early to judge obviously, but overall I'd say what I've seen was very good. I was pretty much hooked from the second(?) episode. The first was a little boring. The first arc overall was very fun and cool. I LOVE Hisoka, but I was slightly disappointed in the 4th exam phase. I thought it could've been exploited better to show the "brutality of survivability". But like I said overall I found the first arc very good and fun. It is a great build up arc for future story. I also REALLY LIKED that Hisoka was almost IMMEDIATELY introduced to the story. That right there is great storytelling, setting up a villain from the very start and leaving obvious clues about his powers and strange nature. At this point I'm rambling so I'll just end it.

Also random note I like how every 13th episode there's a fucking recap episode, wtf is that shit... I really laughed at episode 13 when the first aired and I was like "holy shit, it hasn't been THAT many episodes, we really need recap already?" That's the type of shit you get after a long painful arc. But it doesn't bother me obviously since I can just skip them. Easy money I guess, making recap episodes.

Well what can I say, the guy has a woman's voice and it's not even ATTEMPTED at trying to make it sound like a boy, like in the woman that does Edward Elric, Hitsugaya etc, Naruto etc. The first few episodes I was really disturbed since I thought he was perhaps a girl, but looked like a boy, but had a woman's voice. It's really weird to me. It's not even just "feminine", which I'm always fine with, but he literally sounds like a girl, lol.

Well then you already got a little impression about how Nen works and the different types, Enhancer/Specialist/etc. plus Hatsu/Ren/etc.? Glad you enjoy it so far. The point where it gets to another level in terms of quality is rather close, you will see soon. Can't really add much for spoiler reasons but Hisoka is so creepy and yet awesome You kind of have to hand it to Togashi, showing a villain who actually gets a boner because of some kids xD I see your point about the 4th phase, it was kinda rushed. A minor disappointment to me, but seeing more would have been great too.
How do you like the Zoldyck family?

Yeah the recaps are pretty stupid. I think there are 1 or 2 more, they stop at some point. Easy money + giving Togashi more time I guess. Can't say it helped

Well that's the most manly he's ever been portrayed as x'D I get you, but Kurapika gets his manly moments later. In the manga he looks way too girlish at the beginning too, but with the current art it's pretty fine. I think you will start to like him at one point.

Hmm, not really about Enhancer, Specialist etc. I know about those different types from future content, but it hasn't been introduced. Now it's only about the basics. Hatsu, Ren, Zetsu, Tet I believe they are. The word "Specialist" and "Enhancer" hasn't been used yet.

Yeah Hisoka is uniquely awesome. Loved when he saw Gon use Nen and his shoulder started to twitch and he had to grab it to calm himself, roflmao.

The family... Well I just learned all the kids are BOYS. I'm kind of minsfucked since the creepy ass weirdo girl introduced much later, Alluka or something, looks like... a girl! Also the GIRL that was with the mother looked like a fucking GIRL! Weirds me out. I guess I am interested in the family? That's about my impression now. I liked the plot twist where the creep in the exams turned out being Killua's older brother. I was rather interested in his psychotic behavior, and hypnotism which hasn't really been fully adressed yet.

I just prefer CAPS lately instead of bold or italic to highlight words.

I was gonna bring up them helping Togashi with some free weeks, but I figured you'd bring the salt

Meh I'm just weirded out about him. Can't get over the voice being too girly, but I sort of softened up a bit to it and stopped thinking about it everytime he speaks. Kind of dislike his character model however, but his personality is interesting. Killua + Kurapika = basically the Sauce!

Yeah shame on him, but I figured it'd be good so no problem here.

Oh sorry for that, my memory is a bit foggy about when it gets introduced exactly. I think I remember now, won't be too long I think.

Have to say it's really amusing how you know tidbits from different arcs in the manga, characters, etc. Not sure why you even know about Alluka lol. Won't explain the whole is she girl/boy whatever, but to me she's a girl until proven otherwise. Not really an Illumi fan, Hisoka so much better. Their psychopathic mother, Kyoko or what she was called, is so lulz though, epic.

Don't mind, I'm so used to the salt flying around Hunter x Hunter Don't really have a problem with people joking about that, as long as it's not the same lame joke again and again.
