Bleach had 1 more volume than last year, but only sold 300k more instead of ~600k!Bleach sold more than last year, 300k or so. The biggest losers were toriko which didn't even rank and Gintama (less 500k). (And op less 7M)
Should it truly be expected to decrease? more volumes means theres an increasing number of more backlog accumulating and more sales that can accumulate from previous volumes. Consider the large divide from this years sales and the sales of the One Piece in its biggest year. Additionally considering the population of the country, growth in manga sales is always able to be possible.Backlog is expected to decrease to a point where One Piece with 4 volumes only sales around 14-13 Million copies(1 to 2 Million per year). So I would say that One Piece is not a big looser giving that is only decreasing a little, from year to year. As expected.
Yes and No. More volumes mean more money a person spends catching up so when a group of people starts an One Piece collection the backlog values will shoot up, but not every person is catching up from the beginning, due to the immense endeavor and expense, and bigger number of volumes brings less people trying to collect all volumes.Should it truly be expected to decrease? more volumes means theres an increasing number of more backlog accumulating and more sales that can accumulate from previous volumes. Birth rate problems means that the population isn't increasing nor stabilizing but in fact decreasing. Also the population is getting older. You shouldn't count on an increase in manga sales in general, but the other way around. Why only consider birth rate, the people living today shouldnt be excluded from being able to get into One Piece.
That's right. And it could have sold even more if people like the ones that worked on Shingeki no kyojin made the anime.Terra Formars always sold around this amount, nothing new.

2nd volume did, with a better score (it had more days there), at least it manages to get some sales but still that's a low score for Tanabe. I hope there can be something that'll give boost to popularity, because it's a great manga.Oh? I don't recall seeing Birdmen hit the Top 50 like that before. I really need to start reading that again...
