It has been 6 years since Bakuman and another 4 years from DGM which are the last 2 series that got a start that big. DGM got a start of ~300K and Bakuman sold also somewhere close to 200K since Vol. 1, This talks about beginning alone. Also on the subject of beginnings, Kagamigami is a significant improvement in paneling by Iwashiro and I love his characters, yet something still feels missing in comparison to Soma, Hero, or Psyren, like this story will be about world building before we will get where the story is going...I just hope he will have the time to do so.

Characters imo, they all bored me

Why that fanservice in Kagamigami? The one-shot was more subtle.

He actually needs to get votes now.
But it is not that simple. Use fanservice to get votes is an art! :nod
If people are complaning, it was not well done...

When has fanservice been done well in a jump starting chapter? Plus the chapter didnt really rise above the industry standard so its faults really stand out.

The last person I want to talk about fanservice is you. Believe me.

I didn't see the fanservice myself to judge better.... I think I will not read anything in this round. Nothing caught my attention...

I don't see there being much of a point to applying technical language to art.

Chapter one was a big dissapointment for me. Iwashiro has a very unique drawing style, which I could only appreciate in certain panels. I think he's been heavily influenced by most of the mangas nowadays instead of trying to build up his own style. Most of it seemed very dull. The story, I didn't find as appealing as Psyren, which was great.
I don't think this manga's going too far, but I'll give it a try out of respect for Iwashiro and his former works.

Where were these Soul Catcher(s) fans when it needed votes in Jump? Who answer these polls are normally niches, it doesn't correspond to the will of the majority. Since anime studio aims for the biggest audience, I don't think they really take these polls seriously. While Sakamoto Desu ga?, Onepunchman and Yotsuba&, to pick the first three, have demonstrated popularity, Soul Catchers lets margin for doubt. It never sold and ranked that well in Jump, otherwise it would be here now.

I'm also looking forward to all new series, and by good reception, do you mean in USA or in Japan?

Yeah, I don't really understand why Jump moved the series to Jump Next (the magazine is bimonthly I think). In my opinion the series gets even less exposure it did before which is a shame. The series looks great

You know how things are in Jump, by how Soul Catcher(s) was going when it was moved, either they moved or they cancelled it. You could say that the decision to move it was a credit that the editors gave to the series believing in its potential somehow. That said, it was a good news.

There are controversies about what you are saying, I myself don't believe that it was cancelled. Maybe rushed and with all reasons: it stayed in the bottom for years, and IIRC the sales were decreasing although it was still a decent amount.

I'm sure it was cancelled. It was diving into interesting things and suddenly it ended. Plus the ending was rushed also

Reborn had a natural ending, as natural an awful writer like Amano can do.
