It looks like the author's going for all-digital coloring. And fairly flat all-digital coloring at that.
I wonder what percentage of the Jump mangaka draw with tablets rather than pens and stuff. All the older ones like Oda, Shimabukuro, Kubo, Sorachi, and Akimoto all seem to do all their color art manually.

I should give a try to the series since it is going to be translated in Portuguese. I'm not going to read the oneshot given the recent events.

About the raw of Black Clover 1st chapter. The arts is amazing and the story did in fact got some improvements from the one-shot, but the 1st chapter still seems like an One-shot. A contained story with a beginning and and end in a chapter. Instead of showing something for people to wait for, there is basically everything showed, if the author wanted to end the story here, there would be no problems. Now the question is where from this will the author go?

This author previous work, Hungry Joker, had big problems in storytelling, but it had good art and good battles, though the choreography of it wasn't that great and the investment was also little due to the poor characterization of the characters fighting(this includes the good and bad guys). Now that this 1st chapter is self-contained one can only hope that the author has something good to show next chapter in terms of direction. I hope he knows what he's doing this time, because with his art a good story would really shine.
