I know people don't agree with me, but if I was Shueisha, I would just move World Trigger magazines if it got to that point. It's still a big volume seller.
I wouldn't call it a big volume seller. It's pretty mediocre at best for a battle manga. And the problem is WT's peak is probably just around the corner. Once it hits the peak and starts falling, volume numbers won't help either. And like Leoat said, it's placements in the toc seems to be only getting worse this year.

This is really not true. The placements only seem bad right now because of the 4 unranked series. He been ranking at 9th, that is normally in the middle of the list.
Also World Trigger before the anime survived just like Nurarihyon no Mago and Medaka Box and they survived 5 and 4 years respectively. World Trigger if keeps things up possible has 2 more years.

We still have to wait and see:
- When the unranked series get ranked, what will rank.
- What will World Trigger do in the rankings after the anime.

Right now, he is only above the cancelled series, if we suppose that all four series will flaw, he will have plenty of cushions indeed, but we still don't know. New series can mask the situation of the series for a while, but it will not last forever, even more when the magazine is full like that.
I don't think that two more years is going to be enough to end all the plot, it would be considered a failure even so... Also, we're not talking here about what it will happen tomorrow, a series declining takes a bit of time... With the anime ending in October, the manga would start to decline and the state where it is impossible to continue will come in the end of 2016 or start of 2017, which is more or less 2 years from now.

I can't know since I don't follow WT, but isn't ending in 2016 or early 2017 a very good run for a series which clearly is not a hit?

I'm talking in terms of plot. He probably will not be able to finish as planned if it ends in two years. Commercially speaking, you can say that 4~5 years of serialization is good and all, but to be cancelled is not good in any way, even more when it is a battle shounen, which is supposed to last almost forever.

"World Trigger is in danger of cancellation" seen this kind of post 2 years ago.
From the same people that said it would be impossible for it to get animated even. My track record of predictions is far better than these folks.

No it isn't.
Just because you may have been right about one or two things at one point, does not change the extraordinary amount of times you were proven very very wrong.

While not a big hit, World Trigger with it's nearly 100 chapters could be considered a moderate one, staying in the top selling magazine for two+ years.

better than these folks.
Please use names instead of such a generalizing term. And no, you are not better at predicting if series will continue or not, considering how often people have to remind you of your often skewed opinions.

At this point, it is silly to deny World Trigger's success. It has run for two years, got an anime, made over the 200000 copies line, and even if it is about to reach its hypothetical peak of poularity, it would mean a year or another of life for it. All of this already puts it into the top percent of the Shueishas comics, on par with some decently received works like Psyren or Medaka Box. It has proved its worth.

It is still dull and uninspiring, though.

It was and it is still in danger of cancellation. World Trigger is the most lucky series I've ever seen in this magazine, seriously. It stays more in the lower part of the magazine than the upper part and still it always had cushions to free it from cancellation. You cannot deny that World Trigger is not the most comfortable situation. It has always been like that and that's why people arises the possibility of its cancellation, the POSIBILITY. I never gave any date, I always said that if it continues like this, it will not last as long as it is expected to last. Fortunately, so far many circumstances freed it from cancellation.

Im new here so I dont know but how often do these cancellation rounds come around? I know the ToC shows series' rankings of 8 chapters ago so how long do that wait after the first 8 chapters?

I'd say Soul Catcher(S) was luckier.
Managed to last over a year, almost always in the bottom 5, and even got a vomic and was moved to a different magazine rather than outright be cancelled.

Yeah, you are right... I have no idea what they were thinking when they decided to make such an exception... Many series in the same situation were mercilessly cancelled before... =/

You know that it is possible to vote more than once in these polls, right? Also, it is not parameter for anything. IIRC Assassination Classroom popularity poll had few votes and it sells milion, One Piece sells 3 million per volume and only 60k votes in the popularity poll. It depends on the public of the series and a series of other paramenters.
They didn't make their decision based on something superficial like that I'm sure.

What do you mean? More votes means it could be a series that is read by lots of people. Sales doesnt really mean people arent reading it. Clearly they continued the manga because it reaches whatever quota they wanted it to have.

We also dont know its digital sales.

You can vote more than once, but based on that, it's not like only 10 people are reading the series. You can tell that there's a following somewhere.

Did you read the first phrase of my post?
Most of the people who buy and vote in Jump polls read the Jump from top to bottom anyway, so it doesn't make difference.
Character Popularity Poll is not parameter for anything, the series just have to have fans enough who cares about these kind of things to make a good number and every Jump series has more than 30k fans because many of them, even many cancelled series, sold more than this.

They continued the series based on other things, not because of a character popularity poll, it would be naivety from them.
