I have a lot of free time, so I could read Gantz, vagabond without waiting for weekly released, that's kind of cool.. The bad is when I finish the released chapters and have to wait a week for another, just like with naruto, one piece, bleach and longer for berserk.

Then you find another series.

i've read shamo and the lead character was pretty twisted... ichi the killer is as mad as him.. beserk is quite at the same level... gantz can be pretting gruesome too.. what else... blade of the immortal.. vagabond.. fist of the north star...

I guess my favorite would really be Suzumiya Haruhi. Its the best in my opinion. Funny, Entertaining and Unique. And I really really love the Characters. I'm kinda wondering why there isn't a Haruhi Suzumiya discussion thread here.

mine is Gantz all the way , i was inspired by Kuronos action,and took him as my idol and hes age and interest were just like mines and he looks just like me and the anime was fire to.

dorohedoro suffocating atmosphere and strange world.
tsutomu nihei's works intense and realistics worlds and lot of action.
shamo extreme perversity of the character.
blade of the immortal and berserk are also good.
gunm series and akira, cyber punk post apocalytic universes.
fist of the north star, fist of the blue sky. kenshiro family
maybe bastard for the obscenity of the character but not much.

I think Claymore should be considered a seinen manga, it's similar to berserk and all. And if it is, then Claymore is definitely the best out there, if you compare it to berserk or gantz at volume 12.

Why? Well, there's just something about it that draws you towards it. The author doesn't shy away from killing an important character, and the art is pretty cool (unique). The pace is great, it doesn't drag on forever like berserk, and the characters are really charming. You just gotta try it for a few volumes to know what I mean.

I think Claymore should be considered a seinen manga,

Serialized in Monthly Shounen Jump. So, not a seinen. So unless it gets switched over to a seinen magazine later on in its lifetime, it's a shounen.

my favourite seinen mangas are:

Vagabond - fantastic art, great fights and story and its about THE sword saint, it cant be bad

Samurai Executioner, Lone Wolf & Cub - I love to read these, and also the glossaries at the end of the volumes. I've read the first volume of Path of the Assassin, but somehow I dont find that manga as entertaining as SE and Lone Wolf.

Pluto - a manga that made me cry,sigh, I have no excuse for it, Im a pussy :P Im surprised there is no thread for this one

Angjo Onshi - I love this one. The first manga that I've read in Hungarian. I got the first 2 volumes for X-mas from my girlfriend :3

20th century boys - well, this is my favourite manga ever. its simply the biggest, the best, better then the rest, better then the rest :P

I like Monster and Berserk too, but Im not really into them, yet

hmmm, thats all I guess

oh I almost forgot Akumetsu - a kid punishes bad guys and his head blows up, its fantastic

i think xxxholic is just shonen
theres not much blood ... although im still in volume 7
but it has some deeper thoughts in there.. but still can be understand by 18- audience

Yeah, anything published in any magazine with Young in the title is most likely Seinen or Josei. Also, the raws don't have the the furigana above the Kanji. Furigana are the little hiranga or katakana characters that tell you how to pronounce the Kanji character.
