Well I would think seal is more appropriate here or perhaps the memory she took contains what he needs to control his power. Or she just took that part (the info itself) that contains how to use or control his powers. I doubt she actually took his powers away. I mean, these are demon powers, taking them away is a bit much even for Merlin.
Well apparently this Mel is weaker, to the point of Galan wondering if he's the real Mel. If it's just the memories I don't think it's that bad, but it seems that what she took from him could help in taking out the demons, or else why would he need it so badly? And Merlin specializes in demonic magic according to an extra, it wouldn't be impossible just a bit harder to achieve.

Well if his powers are sealed, he will certainly seem weaker. Yeah a lot harder but borderline impossible imo and even more so considering she did it on the fly. One minute Mel is telling them to disperse and meet up later and next, Merlin is taking something from him. Except she teleported him away and did some extensive work on him but that's a bit unnecessary. Giving it back wouldn't be that easy either. I'm thinking its a seal at most. Taking ones power much less a powerful demon doesn't just seem likely to me. Well it'll be cleared up at one point or the other. Not really a big deal I guess. She has something important and he needs it back, hopefully soon.

If she can deal with Gowther I suppose it wouldn't be too impossible for her to snatch some of Mel's power, plus there is only one step from sealing and stealing one's power lol.Even the idea of sealing his power could be hard to achieve, since one of the ways to do it is linked to the goddesses, and Merlin isn't interested in "white magic". So it has to be demon magic to seal a demon's power, kinda odd if you ask me. Well either way there's a high chance Mel is diminished, whether his power is sealed or really she stole it like he said it's up to debate but doesn't change the outcome. The fact is he most likely isn't at full power.

yes...thinking the same.
why mel only mentioned zel as being a failure...instead of both him and esta:hmm

---------- Post added at 06:51 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:49 PM ----------

wait...but zel addresses esta as estarossa...so they have to be different beings...no?
Meliodas didnt call Zeldris a failure. How often do I have to say it.

Yeah. That much is not debatable. I thought the situation with gowther was that the pills and armour limit his power?

It is not clear if it's just to limit his power or to keep it always at the same level and not have it fluctuate too much. Also the way he was interacting with people I had the impression it did more than just that, that it prevented him from going too wild.

The symbol on his armor is a triskelion.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Triskelion

Its a fairly common symbol in the real world, and nothing suggests its the symbol of the goddess clan specifically.

It has far too many real world connotations to really suggest what specifically it is revering to in the manga however.
Of course it is the symbol of the goddess clan. Elizabeth, the apostle of the goddess, got one of those on her eye once she activated her powers. It seems to be inherent to the goddess folk as far as I can tell...

Or it can be a druid's symbol? We can't be sure , plus Hendrickson did say that she awakened the druid's medium power or something.
I think it would fit better if it's the druid, they also mentioned one of their missions where they broke the great druid altar and Mel was wearing that armor when they were talking about it

An armor made by the druids wouldn't be so weird, and would be an item Baltra could have acquired or asked to be made.

Well, the druids power is similar at least to that of the apostle of the goddess who presumably has the power of the goddesses. the druids worship the goddess so their symbol being that would make sense to me.

Yeah but you were asking why Mel and Estarossa who are both demons wear an armor that has a symbol that could be associated with the Goddess. To me it would make more sense if the armor was made by the druids which could explain how that symbol ended there, whether it's a druid symbol or that of the Goddesses.

That wouldn't make the situation less weird though. Druids are presumably humans who worship the goddess clan. Why would they give an armor to estarossa or meliodas? They seem to be unfriendly enough as it is to normal humans, I doubt they would take well to meliodas, whom they can feel has immense demon powers within him.

The fact that he hasn't commented about his poster would suggest that. If he knew Estarossa shouldn't he be alarmed, after all it could suggest that someone saw Estarossa who is supposed to be sealed? If he didn't recognize him at all this would be the sign that he didn't know about it beforehand.
And then there is the brother thing. Who is older? If it's Estarossa then maybe he shouldn't feel so guilty towards Zeldris, that is if those three are really brothers. It could be that Zeldris calls Estarossa brother but it's not literal, and yet we have those two Mel and Estarossa who look alike. This situation is like the Dreyfus/Fraudrin one, so rather than having two people maybe it's accurate to think that Mel and Estarossa are or were one person at some point.
Those posters get reissued every year, any shock he had from seeing it would have happened long before the manga even started, nor would he have had any reason to bring it up since, as Mel has always hidden his true nature from everyone else.

That just means they are using the symbol as it is commonly used.

The triskelion is commonly used to represent constant forward movement/growth of power.

It has also been attributed to trinity such as
-Creator, Destroyer, Sustainer
-Creation, Preservation, Destruction

-The Otherworld: Where spirits, gods and goddesses live.
-The Mortal World: Where you and I live along with plants and animals.
-The Celestial World: Where unseen energies live and move about. Like the forces of sun, moon, wind and water.

Which makes it thematically appropriate for both the demons and the goddesses.

The druids didn't give Estarossa anything, because it was a dream.Mel on the other hand, the armor could have been given to king Baltra as a gesture, or there is a smith in Liones who comes from the druids(a refugee like Hendrickson) who made the Sins armor. If the STs were given to the Sins by Baltra then there's a chance the armors were also provided by him, or just by the Kingdom of Liones.

That's rather interesting seeing Destroyer is what Gideon translates to and Creation needing no explanation.
But I'm gonna take a guess and say that's a coincidence.

The mark appearing on elizabeth's eye does not account for a "symbol that is commonly used". If its a marking in her eye its not an accessory, its something that appeared as basically a bodypart. There are circumstances under which whatever is the symbol of the goddess clan appears on that eye whatever it may be but we don't really have any context to suggest that is the case at the moment. Its not reasonable to treat something that appears like that on elizabeth's bodyparts as something she could buy at discount at wallmart... And still, the situation so far is that the apostle of the goddess has her eyes turn into the triskelion when using her goddess powers... It does not get any more blatant than that. Also worth noting, none of the demons are currently wearing the symbol. If it really were a symbol the demon clan would regularly use then it would make sense that at least 1 out of the 10 commandments we have seen would have the symbol somewhere.

That really is interesting... So far from what I gather the point of the sacred treasures is that they happen to have abilities complementary to those of the sins. With that in mind the destroyer and creation make perfect sense with one another. Although even then I can't really make out what this could hint at, if it does hint at something... Maybe gideon can arbitrarily make things explode? So diane makes stuff with creation and gideon gives her a explosive touch... Or perhaps by destroying the earth first it allows diane more control over it. Kinda like turning a vast area into sand or something easily controllable thus allowing diane to use significantly greater amounts of earth into her attacks.

Well, year, we all know its the same armor. However the implication so far is the liz really did meet estarossa in the dream, or at least to me the chapter heavily suggests that. It does not seem very reasonable to brush of the two of them being sleeping/unconscious in the same chapter and meeting in a dream as a coincidence. So its not a situation of elizabeth dreaming of some dude that at least in this lifetime she has not meet in a look she would have no reason to attribute to him(meliodas did look like a kid 10 years ago, there was never a grown up meliodas). Its a situation of estarossa appearing with that specific look in front of her. Which unless estarossa was able to peek outside the seal while in the seal implies the armor design is over 3000 years old.

I never made the implication that we should.

I only said that a symbol of power was being used as a symbol of power, and not necessarily a symbol for a specific clan.

I really don't know where you are coming from with this.

I don't know whether anyone have seen this yet or not but this attack of Meliodas was made by sword slash.
We can see there 2 points where are slash-like marks but the core is interesting. How can slash do that kind of crater :D

That's what I was saying for a long time now, that Merlin could have had a hand in the making of the posters, maybe to protect Mel and Escanor, but there isn't enough evidence. Also it all depends on what she took from Mel, and from the looks of it it's more than just memories. She took some of his power too.
was thinking about this poster thing...
the mel/esta thing i'm not quite sure of...but makes me wonder about escanor.
did we even see his peak power level during his fight?...I mean if his power spikes and peaks at noon...we couldn't have.
once he changed during the fight,it was but moments that the fight was over.he was enormous compared to the vamp king and I would have to believe it was no where near noon.
so in fact...maybe the poster depicts him at his peak power level.
