Yeah, something like that xD
No I haven't, so we can talk about this later
When you have your big 3 week long vacation, right?
I'm still hoping, but I'm not expecting much... I want a happy ending for Tatsumi and Mine
Well all Esdeath really cares for is proving her strength and fighting strong opponents, next time she won't hesitate with killing Tatsumi. Esdeath is awesome though...
Honestly, I wouldn't want a girlfriend like Haruhi... just a tad bit too much trouble and ego there. Entertaining she is, but not the kind of girl I could put up with every day XD
VN's huh? I will only believe that once I see it XD
Hope dies last \o/
I remember you weren't much of a fan before reading Akame... though I think with Esdeath it's also her personality so I get that. It's like with most girls in real life, if you like their personality their looks become more attractive to you too XD

But she is cute at times. Her looks are also quite nice.
But yes... She would be too much trouble... A girl like her needs a guy like Kyon.
Or something else. Depends on my mood. You know me too well.
I wouldn't be surprised if hope literally dies. AgK is that kind of Manga...
Well back then I wasn't into big boobies. But yeah with her personality, especially the dere side I came to like her.~

Well as awesome as she can be, she would be too troublesome for me personally. Which reminds me, when I was reading some comments about new Oregairu episode yesterday I saw a guy complaining why people on MAL "like bitches likes Yukinon or Haruhi"... I think he mentioned a few more, but that made me laugh XD
Ofc I do, thanks to both pain and happiness~
Hope only dies in FF13
Well that's the power of an awesome personality, or at least what we consider awesome x'D
Well, I'm considering buying WoD at some point because of never having to pay for a sub. But it would suck to have it all taken away...but I think it's unlikely. Even still, there's still some paranoia. Supposedly you only get banned for 3 days or something, so it wouldn't be the end of the world...

There are many weird opinions and haters on MAL... Sadly those tards are everywhere. Yukinon is no bitch... She changed a bit but she is a deep character. Seriously. I loved that Oregairu episode so much.
Still. Haruhi is awesome.
More happiness though, right?
I have you know that he survived everything.
Who wouldn't call a homicidal maniac awesome? x'D

Welp to me it simply looks like a lot of people don't even consider to give their judgement a second thought. Like they're watching a dumb action show or something and simply go by "I dislike this guy's behaviour so he's crap" without even trying to understand the reasons behind it. Even worse if people get misconceptions about characters right from the beginning, which seems to be the case with some for Yukinon. Honestly don't think she changed at all, she's like always. She has always despised or ignored people with superficial believes or behaviour and it's exactly because she thought Hachiman was the same that she actually got close to him. Now that she realized/thinks that she was wrong about him she's no sure what to do simply because she cares too much about him at this point to simply ignore him. That's why this is the first time we're seeing Yukinon rather confused and unsure what to do.
Ofc, otherwise I wouldn't talk to you at this point
but it was such a good pun
Everyone who got killed by him or her I guess x'D

So you're starting another life on a different server? Seems kinda stupid, that is if you want to play with us. Or more like I surely wouldn't play on two different server. Either decide for the money or the companions, doing both seems awfully tiresome.

Well I often dislike characters for simple reasons too...
I think she changed a bit. She deeply cares for Yui and Hikki. Something she didn't do way earlier.
Daaaaaaaaw.
It still is.
Well they can't talk anymore anyway...

Well we all do to some extent I guess, but not many shows offer multi-layered characters so often it's not like there's much of a choice. What I meant in this case is that there's nothing bitchy about her behaviour, or if someone think there is, they should've thought so since the beginning. Even worse if you hate a character simply because she/he's not nice towards the ones you like. It's not like we're saints or something.
Yeah ofc she's not completely the same, but her way of thinking remains the same. She's opened up towards Yui and Hachiman, but besides that she's still the same person.

I couldn't agree more. But nowadays people think it is cool to hate and flame and skip the thinking part.
Well then we agree again. Still. I just love Yui more. Ganbatte Yui-chan!

Idk...you seem to not be factoring in that I don't have to pay for a sub. It's just there to derp around with, play more classes, etc. It essentially becomes just like any other game for me. There's no real reason for me to play on my EU account until the next xpac or whatever. So I don't see what the big deal is about playing on this one, since it's my original account, after all.....and I'm rich as fuck.

Yeah not just your impression. Pages like MAL and Facebook are filled with internet trolls and internet balls. Such a sad world we live in...
Yui-chan confess!

Yui-chan confess!
Well it's not just anime or manga, it's basically regarding everything. People troll or bash because they don't fear consequences, either for fun or because they're too scared to let out their frustration from person to person. Obviously that does not apply to everyone, but I fear that's what the majority does. The respect towards each other is lost, so many people turn into shitballs and feel cool about it too, even when trashing other real people. I guess the internet is kind of a mirror of what our society has turned into, or so I fear...
Well she did confess in a roundabout way XD Seems like Hikki got the meaning behind it (like Yukinon's sister said, he's the master of reading between the lines ), but both prolly were too scared to go any further. It's not the time for romance atm anyway, that drama needs to be solved first. Still loved that Yui/Hikki scenes, go show those bakas Yui!

You and me both. It is scary how many people insult you on Facebook alone simply because you have a different opinion. Kinda represents how uneducated this society has become.
Yes she did and I LOVED that... Her feelings are written all over her face every single time.
Hikki should be my sensei. He is the best.
Nothing beats Ueno shaved ice.
Yeah...

The oh-so-famous Big Sight website: http://www.bigsight.jp/english/
Should have everything you need to know from transport to floor map.
Though not yet stated in the 2016 section, the price of ticket (pre-event day) in 2015 was 1600 yen. 2000 yen for on-the-day tickets. Event time went from 10am to 5pm.
The rest of the article just keeps repeating how 120k participated so nothing special you need to know.
How long have you been one? What are you teaching ?
Now I'm prolly what some people call a TYPE MOONEY, someone who enjoys and really likes almost every work done from TYPE MOON but I'm talking too much, how is life going for you dude? I vaguely remember that you did have some problems back then (we had a big convo about it long ago), is everything "fixed" now?
I wish I have the time to venture into other TYPE MOON stuff but things are getting busy now that a new school term has started. The next time I'll have so much free time is probably roughly a year from now.
Well since I left and "came back" pretty much a lot happened. I got a girlfriend, then we broke up and then there was a period of time when I lost myself just pointlessly living. Studies also went downhill because I would work hard for projects and then do badly for papers which will drag my overall grades down. Mainly because of how vain(not sure if that's the correct word) a person I can be, as in I care a lot more about my image as a person who contributes a lot to projects rather than someone who can take care of himself and study hard for individual paper assessments. We get like 6 projects per term over here.
Crap, I went on and on with such a long pessimistic rant again.
Anyway, for the positives. I have taken up gymming and swimming. Basically just work my ass off out to at least try to reach a goal in life(that hot body ) and well I told myself I would study my ass off and we'll see how it goes. At this point, I can't apply for the university of my choice but if I work my ass off something good is bound to happen right? I hope it goes well.
Then there's this girl in my group that I'm interested in but there's this guy in my group that wouldn't stop making fun of me
He keeps making degrading comments about me, particularly about my intelligence because my GPA is lower than his. That is really sucking my mood throughout the day. I would shoot back at him if I could but he's my friend and been one of the closer ones since the first year. And arguing with him will affect the project works (we are the same in all 6 projects) so I'm now stuck in a hard place. I realize he might be doing this because we are in the group consisting of 3 girls and I'm the only guy. People can be so tiring.
But hey, I like to think it's better than before.
Let's bring back the happy!
so..... I'm not sure where to start even lol, so I will use spoiler tags for the different topics:
Well you already heard about how I got into Visual Novel. After finishing Stay Night I was really hyped to read more from them and started Tsukihime. Not as awesome as Stay Night and obviously graphics look pretty bad, but that's understandable considering they were a really small studio back then and it was their first work. They actually announced a remake of the VN some years ago (it's getting delayed for various reasons) with way better graphics obviously and added content etc. REALLY hyped for this, but as long as there's no release date I have to wait. If you want a very vague comparison:
There's more art revealed already but I doubt you're that interested, so yeah back to the topic now XD After that I was curious what other VN's had to offer and looked on the most well-known VN side which ones supposedly are the best (this is how it looks, already sorted by ratings: https://vndb.org/v/all?q=;fil=tagspoil-0;o=d;s=rating
Maybe it'll get release next year! We can only hope..but then again I can't read japanese so that would probably mean a lot of waiting BUT THE ART IS PRETTY.
I actually tried Umineko next, but it was so weird without choices and I was a bit perplexed when the story seemingly started from a way different point in the second act. I still planned to finish it obviously, but life got in the way and for some reason I never returned to it. Prolly should and will at some point. Afterwards... yeah I started a lot of different VN. Well if I say a lot that's too much I guess, right now I've tried 13 VN's and finished 11.
You're such a good reader. Usually I just drop things(I know I shouldn't), I wish I have your attention span. I remember starting Katawa Shoujo and dropping it somewhere for example.
I can understand why you think Umineko is...perplexing. Tbh the only reason I started it was because I originally watched Higurashi(did you read that?) and the whole "people dies in a loop" thing drew me in and the challenge of solving the mystery behind Umineko kept me going.
Aaaand in the end I don't think anyone solved the catbox yet.
Where did you last stop? It's really something to read on a rainy day.
Just remember if you go back again: Every loop exist for you to discover, on your own, the truth behind the incident. It gets a whole lot sadder if you stick to it. If you are playing the one that has dated graphics, I highly recommend the ps3 patch.
That being said, if you like a good mystery story with mostly great characters I HIGHLY recommend G-Senjou no Maou: https://vndb.org/v211
Prolly the first VN that managed to make me cry in the end. It's setting is somewhat similar to Death Note (no Death Note obviously), but detective trying to catch the mastermind kind of story. Pretty engaging right from the beginning and a very good mix of mystery and drama, so I figure that's something for you too.
*adds to list of things I want to do but can't because of time constraints *
But if it made you cry it must be really good so I WILL READ IT. and the mystery genre is the best genre.
I've already said too much but I'm going to add that Skyguardian is reading Visual Novels too. I don't think you know much about him, but he became a good friend of mine since he joined. We've both read various Visual Novels after I convinced him to play Fate/Stay Night and G-Senjou afterwards We also visited Tokyo together, but that's a different story.
Does he read Umineko if he doesn't maybe I should convince him.
How did the two of you go to Tokyo? Wait I mean, you guys just met and flew there?!
Kinda similar experience for me. Not so much because of slice of life, but the beginning was just... not that good in my eyes. Obviously that changed with time and I knew it was very high ranked on the site I mentioned, so I was sure the VN would deliver soon enough. Really enjoyed it overall, though the true route obviously was the highlight to me. Maybe a tad bit too much infodump, but it was kind of necessary because the amount of mystery at that point was so huge. Honestly I was blasted away with all the reveals, especially with the whole past/future thing and Blickwinkel. I never could have imagined such a solution, so I was really amazed. Sara was my least favourite route by far too, it's funny that we think alike so much XD
- Tsugumi best character, yes! And ofc here cute hamster Chami
- Karma was my favourite song too, it's just so touching... honestly when Takeshi sacrificed himself for Tsugumi to get away and then that song... My favourite version is actually fan-made: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LczqkQAm_kw
I actually still think that the whole Blickwinkel thing (together with everything else somehow) was among the very best plot twists I've seen. Also really liked that the VN basically made you Blickwinkel, I kinda had to laugh when I played the next VN after that because I imagined myself being Blickwinkel again for a sec XD Anyway, amazing VN indeed
I doubt I would go back to Ever17 because the front part was pretty dry unless I suddenly wake up one morning with nothing to do. Nice fan piano piece Have you tried 999? It's on the DS(you can load it up on an emulator) and it's written by the same person who wrote ever17.
Personally Fate/Stay Night is my favourite VN, but that's prolly also because of nostalgia and my first experience with VN's. It just had a total package that was SO MUCH my thing (setting, characters, fights, etc) and I still feel like that today, even if I know that other VNs can compare or are even better.
Sure go ahead and bombard me with questions, I don't mind Reminder that you can always take about Fate Stay Night or Ever 17 with Sky too, but I'm not sure if you're interested because you don't really know him, so just saying~
What I liked more in HF.... hmm it felt like a tighter knit story overall. I mean all the slice of life at the other parts was nice, but still sometimes it felt a bit awkward to me (and a bit unrealistic). With HF I felt like it was reduced to a realistic and necessary amount and I kinda felt like there was always something happening/being revealed. Drama was on a high level most of time and I liked the contrast to rather "innocent" stories to such a dark and disturbing Grail War. Ofc the big events/reveals with the Greater Holy Grail and such were part of it too, I think HF actually reveals the most to people who've already seen the Zero anime. Oh and lots of my fav characters getting the most screentime and being the most badass (Illya, Shirou, Kirei, Rin) together with great fights (I mean stuff like Shirou vs Dark Berserker, Shirou vs. Kotomine, Kotomine vs. True Assassin, etc). Maybe quite a bit of bias there, but I just loved the route from beginning to end.
I just realized that most of the characters that starred in HF is my favourites in Fate/stay too.
Whoa, did Nasu predicted who would be fan's favs? Well...except Sakura.
Well Lancer was my only favourite that was shafted aside. Saber had her time too even though its underdeveloped compared to other paths. Well.. I don't really know what to say because you kind of summed up a lot of what I think. (Is the assassin in stay/night same as zero?)
But UBW is still my fav route with HF coming a close second. Fate route was good but just not made from the same cut. I guess I'm just a sucker for someone who stubbornly believes in their path. Tbh I feel like I need to reread ubw again just to understand what the message really was about. Was it to always believe in your path and live without regrets even if the world keeps striking you down? Or even if you yourself comes and tells you to give up?
And it's not just UBW. Even Heaven's Feel had me questioning a lot of stuff, it makes me wonder if that's the only message the route is trying to deliver and makes me want to re-read it.
About the voice patch... I guess it's coming at some point, I can see why you want to wait until then. I read Hollow Ataraxia without voices and while it was still really good voices just add a damn lot to the story. At the time I played HA the Vita version with the voices wasn't even released though, and I didn't want to wait for years possibly. Which reminds me, did you read Stay Night Realta Nua or the old release? I replayed the VN when Realta Nua finally had a patch because it adds new music and quite a lot of new CGs (even hidden ones the guy found in the data but which never made it into the actual VN). Also an overall improved version compared to the old release. Was really awesome again. Which reminds me, this was your first VN with H-scenes right? Well I guess you could disable them in the Realta Nua release, that's why I'm asking too xD If the H-content is removed with the patch it never gets explained that Sakura was raped by Shinji multiple times for example...
I...used the Fuwanovel version so I don't think it was Realta? Or was it half realta?
Do you know where can I find the hidden CG/addition CGs? I was pretty sure the rape part was explained for my version and there was some CG that I saw did not exist in the original.
But damn I would go back and get Realta just to remove the sex scene in Saber route during the Ruins part.
I get your opinion about Shirou, it's kinda unfair because he indeed has three different versions. Kiritsugu never had that "chance" to show us his different sides, so Shirou has a big advantage. As I see it, Shirou has all those sides within him and it's the events around him that heavily influence who he's turning out to be. Kinda reflects real life too, showing that humans can't be reduced to one side and that our surroundings influence us a lot, but that in the end we define who we are by ourselves. I definitely agree that UBW Shirou wouldn't make the choices he made in HF.
After playing Fate/stay I went back to look at my life and I realized I should have placed more importance on my own choice and my own decisions. Unknowingly I had let a lot of things that were not me shaped my life. I agree, it's like the real world except we can't load our save data and choose another route. And there's only one true Shirou for everyone, the one we like the most.
Also, Kiritsugu had a really traumatizing past(same thing twice), so I guess from that point he's locked into the destruction of the grail route.
Ilya, Irisviel and Kiritsugu really would have deserved happiness yes ;__; It's pretty harsh that Ilya never really gets a happy ending, but I still like the HF conclusion with her sacrificing herself and being content with it. It really felt like she was happy with the time she spend with Shirou and others, so I still felt like she got what she wanted (a happy family...) even if it wasn't for long.
It was tough to watch for sure but she's a beautiful character till the end.
Yeah Zouken was a real asshole, though I kind of understood him at the end. He became so obsessed with eternal life that he stopped caring about anything else. Ofc that does not justify anything, but it means he wasn't necessarily evil, his extreme obsession formed him into the heartless villain he was in the end.
Sadly I just can't empathize with him. I can only see him as a foil to all the other characters in Fate/Stay mainly because all of them are living their lives to their best, I'm not saying he wasn't fighting for anything but the fact that he is so fearful of death can only means he is nothing but someone full of regrets in his life. Maybe it's being despised or maybe it's because he never really experienced love. He wanted to escape death that badly because of how hollow his life probably was.
Shinji is by far the biggest prick in the whole series, I think everyone loves to hate him. I get that he has an inferiority complex, but at no point did he actually start thinking about his actions. He's an incredibly egoistic and tragic human. He lacked the will and resolve to ever grow. When it was revealed that he raped Sakura countless times that really was the last straw. He got what he had coming, I actually was surprised that Sakura managed to endure this for so long.
He should be tortured to death, fed to the worms or killed resurrected killed resurrected killed again.. I hate how he survived in UBW. He doesn't deserve a second chance. Pretty much a spoilt kid who had everything and trampling on others without giving a shit.
That's why I actually like Sakura. Yes she made a mistake by repressing her emotions/thoughts for way too long and not having the courage to be more open towards Shirou, but honestly who could actually blame her. Given up by her real mother and father, treated like shit and experimented on by her new grandfather, raped by her step-brother.... honestly just imagining all the pain she went through is hard enough, pretty much everyone would have snapped sooner or later. Redeeming herself after all she did is kinda hard, but I agree with Shirou that she has to atone through living. Make up for it with all you have and while you do enjoy the simple happiness you achieved. She at least deserves that much after all those years of pain and lonliness.
Yep, that's why the normal end felt overly harsh on her. I can't really blame her for the innocent lives she took because at the point of time the world is nothing but a torturous place for her to exist and the only reason she was alive then was Shirou. HF places so much emphasis on how both Shirou and Sakura saved each other that it was so heartwarming to read at the end. I didn't like her because I don't usually side towards soft spoken and silent characters who seems like never have the guts to fight for what they want. Well, reading HF made me realize that enduring is a form of fighting. And sometimes the soft spoken characters can have one of the strongest and kindest souls.
Regarding your thoughts:
- Ilya prolly yeah, but together with Sakura at least. Honestly I find dying actually a more comfortable thing when you have such a grandfather and brother. Just imagine the shit she prolly went through even after Fate and UBW....
In an alternate world, Shirou after getting together with Rin will help solve the Rin and Sakura relationship and in the midst of it together save her from the Matou family.
Yeah..I can dream.
- Shirou is awesome, yep! Like I told you, he certainly shines the most in the HF. One can only admire his willpower and the things he's willing to sacrifice for his love. You don't really have to agree with the choices he made, but you can definitely respect them and him as a character.
I do! 100 Pushups a day is now my goal! I can only do 50 now at one go tho...
What about you? Are you more towards a UBW or a HF Shirou?
[QUOTE
]- Yeah, Nasu described the story like that too. Fate is living your ideal, UBW colliding with your ideal/coming to terms with it, and HF is facing reality. Something like that.
It's still confusing tho maybe because of all the things that can be happening in a route.
Facing reality can be really harsh at times tho so maybe that's why I like UBW HAHA.
- Kotomine Kirei is one of my favs too, so glad he got all that attention in HF.
I wanted him to be the main bad in UBW so badly. As in, I wanted Rin to fight him or something but oh well...he shined so much in HF that it's fine. It's really nice to see a bad guy just being born bad and then might not actually be bad and that maybe we are all bad.
And then maybe there's no such thing as "bad" in this world.
Well I guess if you don't go serious and just derp around it's useful to some extent, at least there's definitely nothing to lose Just don't leave us after playing too much on NA, okay?
Well, my NA account just fell in my lap honestly, it's way too convenient. I didn't even need to buy the base game on it for some reason, but did anyway for the free month of game time. Then I moved to EU before I ever had to pay for the sub, and then I got hacked and now my account is rich as hell. It'll be my main, and it should be (provided I don't get busted). But I'm good to go on EU if us 3 decide to level together next xpac.
