I hope this one gets treated better than Ane Doki.

It's called "Mikan Momokuri".
What??? Didn't that used to be her pen-name earlier in her career? :blink
She's using the pen name again for what'll be listed as the series' author. The actual name of the series is Gunjo ni Siren.

If she wants to succeed in JUMP, she needs to stop making good stuff. If it has too much plot and attention to character interactions, it'll get cancelled very quickly.

the only formula for succeeding in a romance in JUMP is no plot progression whatsoever, just "oh look at what our dandy cast is doing this week" over and over.

(no but seriously I'm just butthurt that well thought-out stuff that takes itself seriously like Hatsukoi Limited gets cancelled in less than a year, and Nisekoi stays serialized for so long)

She's not even trying to get serialized in Jump anymore, this is in a josei magazine.

It's hard to predict future success based only on the initial sales. From this list, Ane Doki, Kagami no Kuni no Harisugawa, Double Arts and Pajama na Kanojo got cancelled in less than one year, and Magico only lasted one year and a half, while World Trigger grew and became a success with no end in sight, Psyren lasted three years and Soul Catcher(s) is alive after more than two years.
Does anyone know where oricon gets these numbers?

Like, Kuroko sold 20k in the first week and then slowly crawl to 45k in the end of week 4. Then the total sales skyrocket to 500k at the end. Is it a reprint?

Also, what does the * means?

Oh, I got the penname and the title mixed up then I guess. I was trying to figure out what was going on there because I can't read French. Then kinda stopped when I didn't find anything. Thinking back "nom de plume" makes sense to mean... nom de plume.

Good for her. I hope it's successful. It's running in "Gekkan You"? I've never even heard of that magazine.

Huh. I assumed it was JUMP since they posted it here. I guess that explains why she's using her shojo name again.

Well, I want JUMP to have serious romance stories, but for Mizuki's success, this is for the best.

By the way, "You" is apparently the most popular Josei magazine according to wikipedia, so I presume that Gekkan You is its sister monthly magazine.

Is there more info on the BIG announcement that is supposed to come for OP this week?
Shueisha already revealed the big news: One Piece got an entry in the guinness world records for the most copies published:
https://one-piece.com/news/detail/20150615_2437
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/new...ies-printed-for-comic-by-single-author/.89275
Also Shueisha announced an Official One Piece App for iOS and Android.
https://itunes.apple.com/jp/app/one-piece-wu-liao-lian-zai/id994092849?mt=8

It seems the first issue with One Piece chapter 1 is available for free on jump plus. Is someone able to rip it from shonen jump plus? That would be awesome: http://plus.shonenjump.com/client_i....html?tw=1&lin=1&cid=SHSA_JP01WJ1997034D02_57

The * is used because they don't use a spreadsheet or any special program so this evenly spaces out the numbers in their template. It doesn't exactly work here, in this site, but if you look at info at the Japanese site, everything is evenly spaced.

http://www.geocities.jp/jump_manga/

The site records the first X weeks, then gives the highest number that is recorded in their other sources. What that is, I'm not certain.

The promo pic looks pretty intense, almost like it could be battle or something. And the art is great. Does the article mention a start date or plot?

The first chapter of Hungry Joker seems to have been added to Jump+ as well.

It's kinda tricky to do it.
I know that it's possible but I never managed to do it myself.

EDIT: Lord, i had forgotten that Luffy did shove a knife in his own face in the first chapter....
Good times... XD
At least someone should have a tool to screen grab this issue. The digital public raws are "ripped" that way.
Unfortunately, jump did not include the limited (?) coloured pages that were given to One Piece in this very issue. Does anyone have a clue what the reason could be?

I think it's because it's not the digital version of the issue per se.
It's just a collection of the chapters that was released for this issue, put together in order just like it was released back in 97.

The source of the chapters are the tankobon version.

We know that, but what about the limited colour pages? The first half of the very first chapter originally got (limited) colour pages:

Im looking for years for the colour pages of the first chapter.

I have all scans, from Jump 34/1997 and from One Piece Log 01.

Nah, they're the same thing. People just drop the "monthly" bit when talking about magazines most of the time.

Now if only they'd put up every issue of Shounen Jump ever published available to buy digitally. How cool would that be?
Seeing a table of contents with Jojo Part 5 in it sure is weird.

Edit: Apparently the announcement for One Piece is an Episode of Sabo special:
http://www.crunchyroll.com/anime-ne...ce-episode-of-sabo-special-planned-for-summer
The special was revealed on TV with the announcement of the guiness record. By the way, there were 3 major One Piece news today: One Piece app, Guinness record, and the sabo special.

---------- Post added at 06:58 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:54 PM ----------

Next week ESJ will feature the special One Shot Folie à deux from Jump plus. I did not know the authors were from the states
