So Isayama said that we are 60% done with the story as of chapter 70 , so if we do get the basement arc starting from chapter 71 then beast titan is most likely not the 'end boss' but a kind of 'mid level boss' that will show how strong Eren is if he manages to defeat it, I expect the basement to either hold some kind of serums or a tunnel to maybe RBA's hometown? I expect that once SL takes back Wall Maria (or if they take it back) they will venture outside the walls to RBA's hometown , maybe SL and Eren will spare RB and let them explain everything and what is going on , who's MT e.t.c
A lot of people never mention how Reiner said in episode 3 of the anime "I will go back to my hometown no matter what" with that look on his face , which makes me believe that RBA want to get the coordinate to go back to their hometown which was overrun by Titans , if MT is from where RBA is it would explain too why he wants the coordinate.

Also I want to share my theory I written up.

Theory: Erwin's Father

So like we saw in one chapter (dont know which one but the one in which Erwin had a long chat with Pixis) Erwin said that his father was close to discovering the truth about the Titans so Military Police I think it was (WHO WORK FOR THE KING!) , was ordered to kill Erwin's father , and from what we know now the Reiss/High people in the walls know about the titans truth since Reiss family had the Coordinate and Titan Serums. So could it be possible that Erwin knew about Titan shifters and everything else we know now from the very beginning? Or does he know even more since he never fails to surprise us. I still have a feeling that Erwin will play a HUGE role in the end..

From what I remembered, Erwin's father started to wonder how could be no memory from the outside world, since they have been in the wall for only about 100 years. In that time, should have been only 3 or 4 generations, so the storys should remain, even if only in oral history. So, basically, he was close to discover the fact that someone erased all the memories and, with that, that there were some kind of mind control power. But I dont think he was ever close to discover the whole truth.

As a matter of fact, even the Reiss family doesn't know the whole truth, only the Coordinate. It was mentioned in the manga that the person who had the Coordinate never told anyone about the history, although they knew about it and there was no proibition. This probably happen because of the mental influence of the First King.

From what I remember the influence of the First Kings Ideology only worked on the Reiss since apparently Ackermans are immune to the brainwash/mind control power , Eren is a Jaegar so maybe if he goes to the basement he will find out how to tap into the memories of the First King , maybe it isnt even that the Coordinate forces the holder not to say anything , maybe the ideology/whatever it is , is so horrible that they do not want to tell anyone and they let the Titans takeover at any time.
