Gyo is often used in the eyes to see through hidden aura; IN. Hiding aura is done by releasing and stopping aura at the same time; you call it mysterious, I call it BS.

I do not really understand what your problem with those two things is.

If you want to do it, call zetsu an application of In.

In Martial arts it is not rare that a concept is explained in a more symbolic and less technical way.

Learning Zetsu is important to be able to hide your nen and thus In is called an application of that.
Because if you are not able to stop your aura flow, you can obviously not hide it.

The same way, if you are not able to relax your muscles you are not able to do gentle movements.

Why is that a plothole to you?

Well to him it's a plot hole because he feels the need to be smarter than the writer, while in reality it's just a perhaps not fully explained concept that he's trying to bash on.

Actually, I just wanted to point out that HxH isn't as perfect as some people wish for it be.

But you try pointing that out by taking a thing out of this manga where there's nothing wrong with.

I am always open to what people think are flaws in works i like because it is interesting how people take very different things in art as enjoyment, but you focus highly on a thing which is at best a very small detail and which isn#t even broken.

"IN" isn't a small detail; almost every time one uses Nen, "IN" is involved. And yes, it is broken. Actually, imo, with that the whole system breaks.

It is not broken. You can use In to hide your Nen which happens a lot in fights in HxH.
The small detail i was talking about is that you claimed that it makes no sense that In is an applicatin of Zetsu (which totally makes sense), and this is a small detail you are nitpicking on ground of nothing at all.

The usage of In, Gyo, Zetsu and ryu was consistent throughout the whole manga since those concepts were introduced.

When Nen was introduced by Wing, he explained it (being a martial arts practioner) in a way which is common in martial arts.
It enables you to easily understand what to do to accomplish a certain thing.

In Karate for examples (at least in some styles) there are animal analogies for certain techniques so you know which mindset you should have when you use one of those techniques, to make you understand what your body should do when executing that technique.

It is the same here, it is obvious that to hide your nen you have to be able to control you nen flow, aka using zetsu to stop it but not completely stop it.
Thus In is a technique which is harder to pull off than zetsu, but being able to use zetsu is a requirement, thus it is called an applicatin of zetsu much like a technique in karate might be called a techique out of the tiger style though you are 'spoilers' not really turning into a tiger to execute it.

It is not hard to understand.
it is also no flaw.
It is not even badly explained. It does not contradict anything, it is consistent throughout the manga, i really do not see the problem.

I think the main issue here is how in relates to zetsu. In principle the idea does sound awkward considering zetsu is simply not releasing nen. We don't really have a parameter by which a difference in quality between zetsus from different people would be a thing. It would be one thing is reaching absolute 0 nen releases was not possible or required a lot of training but no such thing has been mentioned. And then we have in. First it implies the difference in quality between zetsu that we have no context on how it works. Then on top of that there is the thing about in being used to hide nen itself to which the manga has also provided no explantion yet. If anything hiding nen sounds like a completely distinct technique from what the manga says zetsu is. Not only distinct but in many ways opposite considering zetsu is the opposite of using nen altogether.

Zetsu works by closing the Aura Nodes, In works by concealing the aura, the Aura nodes are still open in this case so Nen can be used to deceive the enemy.

Yeah but how one conceals aura while releasing it; and don't give me the it's-yet-to-be-explained BS.

The Aura is emitted through the nodes, In permits to conceal the Aura, not shut off the nodes, with Gyo the Aura is perfectly visible, it's like using a mask.

Demonspeed - Seriously?! So you're gonna leave it like that? How about addressing the issue of 'In' being an application of Zetsu. When 'In' has nothing to do with 'Zetsu' other than simply sharing the same concept of not seeing aura. On the other hand, you won't just see through 'In' perfectly by simply using Gyo; the degree of aura used also counts. "It's like using a mask." What?!!

Kkck - Even if we think of 'In' as a separate principle, there still is the issue of Gyo. I mean why one has to focus aura in the eyes. I can see that one can sense aura through En when it reaches its range, but actually seeing aura? The eyes can only see light, if there isn't light being emitted or reflected by the concealed aura, how can Gyo translate that information so that it can be read by the eyes. What if one gets blinded in a fight, or was already blind?

I have already explained you why In is called an application of zetsu. Didnt you read what i wrote?

About Gyo:
Why is it out of question to enahnce your eyesight by using aura? You can enhance body strength by using nen, you obviously can even enhance brainstrength by using nen (komugi used nen in gungi games and in york new nen was used to evaluate rare items).

Our eyes do not see a lot of the reflected light. If we see In as a way to hide your zetsu by making it too faint to be reflected by the light a normal human eye can see it makes perfect sense.

Talented people release large amounts of aura when doing something they're passionate about, even when they don't know anything about Nen. Nen enhances physical performance such as kicking, punching, jumping running etc. Even sight, when seeing far away objects. Intellectual performance? Nope. Komugi was a natural gungi genius. When your eyesight gets enhanced, you should be able to see things more clearly, distant objects will seem near; but you won't be able to see 'invisible' things.

Why not, what is your reasoning for this?
There is quite a lot humans cannot see, ultra violet light for example.

Why would it be out of question to enhance your eyes or your brain with nen to be able to perform that task?

Komugi was a genius, but it was implied that she was in fact using nen and awakened when she suddenly had an insane amount of new moves going through her mind and wanted to take a break to write them down.
That is what made her different from all the other masters meruem defeated.

So Nen is in fact able to enhance your mental powers.

Again, talented people release large amounts of aura when they're in the zone. Kumogi is a genius, she's never met a stronger opponent than Merium in gungi. She's never lost a game because she always finds a way to push her boundaries. She was in the zone, that's why she was releasing aura during the game.

Why can't Nen enhance the human sight so that one can see uv light? Because you can't enhance what isn't there in the first place. You can't enhance your hearing if you're deaf to begin with.

With which reasoning?
Nen has far more properties than just enhancing things which were there already.

how do you explain hatus like pakunoda's who can tell whether someone is lying or not if Nen cannot alter your neurons?
And if nen can alter your neuron's, the capacity of your brain can be enhanced, which includes you senses.

Basically, you could argue that Wing did not explain Nen in a very detailed scientific way.
But toagshi himself was never incosistent in how nen can be used.

There were no major asspulls so far.
