What about DF? Shouldn't he be faster in it?
I don't like to speculate but I think he's be equal or a tad faster, keep in mind that ToH Jellal was getting outpaced while he had a gut wound.

Natsu's FDKM heat evaporated the lake at Magnolia, so it's got a larger AoE than the GMG stadium. It will give Jellal discomfort, though I'm not sure it's unbearable or anything like that.

So this is my opinion.

I'm going with Jellal, high-extreme diff.

While it certainly won't be easy I think he'll be able to pull Grand Chariot and Sema out on him, for one reason: Solid Seal.

During the Jellal vs OS fight, Angel says (or something similar too) "No... this is a-" and then Racer finishes by saying "A Solid Seal?". Now Racer (given the speed he's shown) should have been able to dodge GC but instead he was glued to his spot. After this I don't recall anyone moving away from Grand Chariot, including Neinhart. Maybe it's a bit shaky (not sure what the raw says, if anyone could translate I'd really appreciate it) but I think Jellal has modified his Grand Chariot so that his opponent can't escape it.

Raw: http://img.one-piece.top//img/7/3696.jpg

Feel free to tear this to pieces if it's wrong lol, just something that I thought would be worth bringing up.

For Jellal Fernandes vs Natsu Dragneel, the match will vary once again...
  • Jellal > Natsu [Medium-High Difficulty]
  • Jellal > DF Natsu [Extreme Difficulty]
I'll repeat what I've said before. I don't see any use of incorporating Natsu's Dragon Force in this tournament but because I know you guys insist on him being able to use it (to deny Jellal the win), then I'll repeat what I said in the Jellal Fernandes vs Laxus Dreyar Thread. Jellal will get Mystogan's magic.
  • Attack: Jellal ≈ Natsu
  • Defense: Jellal > Natsu
  • Speed: Jellal ≤ Natsu
  • Versatility: Jellal > Natsu
  • Intelligence: Jellal > Natsu
  • MP: Jellal ≈ Natsu

Attack Power

I will separate this into AoE/Destructive Capacity and Attack Potency. I give Natsu the win for AoE. Jellal's Sema can rival Natsu in destructive capacity but his casting time for that specific attack is longer. However, in attack potency, Jellal wins because he one-shotted a Spriggan with his casual attack. Meanwhile, Natsu defeated Jacob in one punch who already took some damage beforehand. Note that Neinhart and Jacob are both Low-Tier Spriggans.

Defense

Jellal takes it. Natsu was merely damaged by physical attacks like Jacob's CQC and knives (that were melted).

Meanwhile, Jellal took a blast from Neinhart and was completely fine (aside from drowning).

Okay, so Natsu's DF will give him more defense... Three Layered Magic Circle: Mirror Water can protect Jellal from the majority of Natsu's attacks. Natsu is not winning here.

Speed

I say they are equal. Natsu might take a slight win here because he was able to catch up with Jellal's Meteor. But let's keep in mind Jellal fought a 2v1 (against Natsu + Erza), wasted his MP by killing Simon with Altairis, and casting Abyss Break. It was also stated that he was holding back so he wouldn't destroy the tower he created. Without these restrictions, I can see Jellal matching Natsu in speed especially with more MP.

Versatility

Jellal obviously takes this. Not only does Jellal already have Fire Magic, Natsu doesn't even have enough magic in his arsenal to match Jellal (let alone Jellal's Magic + Mystogan's Magic).

Intelligence

Jellal should comfortably outclass Natsu here.

Magic Power

It should the be same or similar for both characters. This is including Natsu's DF otherwise he would lose in this aspect. I would also like to add something. For the people saying Natsu can evaporate a lake by just powering up, note that it was a very small part of the lake (not the whole lake).

The AoE in the GMG was much larger but come on, even fodders survived it. Jellal will keep his distance and won't even be affected by it.

Natsu evaporated the whole lake, while you're still clinging onto the fact that Jellal drowned and didn't get knocked out :lmao

Natsu didn't even evaporate the entire lake. I don't even see how Natsu won against Gildarts. I guess people still cling to Natsu one shot ing bluenote.

Jellal would destroy Natsu. He has been training for over 9years to take out Zeref. He diff has a godly spell waiting for Zeref and this isn't speculation.

And I HIGHLY doubt Natsu evaporated the entire lake with his aura.

That's just too large.

Get a dictionary & look up the word speculation & it's connotations.:XD

Jellel could train for a damn century & that argumentation would still amount to absolutely nothing here.

Now, here's what we do know. Natsu essentially -- demonstratively -- has more than enough firepower to utterly obliterate Jellel is a single shot due to how destructive & devastating his magic has been as of late; & poor Jellel lacks the body of the tank needed to dare attempt taking such blast force head-on.
This means, Jellel would be coerced to either offset Natsu's blast with his own or get the hell out of the way.

Unfortunately for Jellal, Natsu is able to unleash devastation in a blink of an eye at blazing speeds while Jellal require some time to cast his big guns; thus Jellal is truly in a predicament where he would be mostly coerced to dodging, dodging & more dodging.

Fundamental, dodging all the time due to being unable to mount a solid offence is a huge detriment in an unrestricted fight. It's especially bad for the opponent on the defensive to be in such a predicament if the offensive fighter is not only a tank, but could carry on his offensive strikes indefinitely.

Jellal loses for the same reason he should've lost to Laxus.

DF is absolute overkill here!

Natsu did evaporate the whole lake, the whole area around Natsu is dry and the water itself didn't come crashing back down the second Natsu beat Jacob. Natsu is miles above Gildarts, Bluenote was on Gildarts' level the last time we saw him and Natsu beat him, heck Jura is on Gildarts' level according to Makarov.

Whoever wins is not stomping anyone. While the Duration Jellal trained is irrelevant, after seven years he had to go all out just to beat Jura.

I don't understand how DF is even used here. Yes, he may be able to use at will but there are no feats in post timeskip. Eg:- we know sema would have grown stronger but it can't be taken into consideration as it is just speculation. So only tartaros DF can be taken into consideration rite? And current Natsu is much stronger than that.

So you really think Natsu evaporated a lake that is miles wide in every direction?

Natsu could barley push Jacob back, he used his most godly spells to accomplish that, Jellal used a basic spell on Neinhart.

We all know plot made Jellal get one shotted by Neinhart.

Don't bring up Gildarts vs Natsu anymore, I would literally debunk anything you say.

Where was it stated that Natsu evaporated the whole lake? It wasn't even shown...

You do realize that there is the other side of the lake, right? Refer to the manga panel posted by Woodenstool for proof. You can actually even see it in the panels I posted.

From what it seems, Makarov threw Jacob into the middle of the lake. We know this because we see Natsu flying across it. Then we see Natsu punch Jacob in mid-air, making him fly even further. Logically, Jacob landed at the other side of the lake. If Natsu truly evaporated the whole lake, Hiro Mashima would either show us that to begin with or we would see a whole panel of the lake at the end where there is no more water.

and that Mirror Water can deflect everything :derp
Acno was lucky he wasn't on Tenrou or that roar would come right back at him. Seriously I don't know who wins this, Ima wait to post my vote.
No... Not every attack...

You have to scale Jellal's attacks to his power level. Since he is in the same league as Natsu and Laxus in Attack/MP/Endurance/Stamina, it should block some of their attacks. Not all. But it would fail on something like Acnologia's roar. Again, this is not the major factor in Jellal's win but it still impacts the outcome of the fight.

The issue is less of emotional barriers and more so if Natsu willed it with his own power. If you look again at the fight, after Mard Geer looks shocked at Dragon Force, Natsu states that it is igneel's power that's allowed him to do that. That could mean one of many things:

1. He simply meant Fire DS magic, that he already has
2. He meant the flames he uses for FDKM, which he still has
3. He Meant the flames that became the Igneel flames for his fight against Zeref, which he does not have

Although, it's likely that he can will DF, the argument is that he cannot because we have not explicitly and clearly seen it.
Looking at the fight again, Mard Geer says "This is Dragon Force?!" amidst the blitz from Natsu, and Natsu replies "I learnt it from Igneel himself!" Given he said that, its clearly a technique the dragons have taught the slayers. Here is the page from Crunchyroll for reference

Its clear that he's doing it with his own power as its something he himself has said he was taught to use. The fact that he also activated Dragon Force without ingesting anything should make it crystal clear he is capable of willing it.

Yes I do, but Ima need to calm down because we don't know the lakes length.

"Barely push him back?" LOL he knocked him out while that in itself is irrelevant because the force of his punch isn't what evaporated the lake, his heat did.

Yeah I'll take that as you conceding if you're going straight to plot.

Please debunk me, I'm begging you because I've watched you 'debunk' other people and it's been funny.

And? The second Natsu beat Jacob the water would collapse back in on Natsu. Hiro doesn't NEED to show you the whole lake.

CR translated that Natsu did infact vaporize the entire lake and it was shown on panel, the other side of the shore had no water.

Not really one of his "godly" moves considering he wasn't even exhausted afterwards

while Jellal's "basic" move had him sweating and huffing.

People refusing to accept Natsu having access to DF still? Lol okay... its not fair? It doesnt make sense? People just trying to nerf Natsu to give Jellal the with, hahaha. Im going with Natsu, the only person that could legite beat him in this tournament was Laxus. And Natsu did evaporate the lake, people are just ignoring manga facts at this point. Its pretty funny

The only reason Natsu wasn't beating Jacob beforehand was because he was holding back a ton. It was made clear that Natsu was afraid of destroying the guild and that was why he barely even used any magic against Jacob before Makarov punched him. Once Natsu actually was able to go all out Jacob was obliterated.

Dragon force is an emotional trigger. I don't buy it, Natsu can't evaporate a lake that is literally miles upon miles wide. Nope just not today.
