can only see this as a vote of confidence from the editors to the author.

Black Clover had a similar thing in November last year, and Densetsu no yuusha no konkatsu also got a vid same thing as this yesterday.

Perfect timing, this also coincides with ANN's review of the few volumes of Black Clover (which I can say were expected since the manga had a slow start and didn't have an established identity yet). But it's still enjoyable in the more recent chapters, dialogue and cliches aside.

I expected less... like 1.3 or 1.4.

that is an average of 230k per volume, its not amazing but considering how much it sells according to oricon, its a respectable number.

Its 2.1M down when compared to Bnha(at volume 7 Bnha was at 3.7M) but Bnha was been heavily pushed from the very start.

Copies printed and sold are completely different. BC does not sell at an average of 230k per volume, that's absurd. It's far much lower than that.

I have no problems with cliche, because if i had a problem with them, I wouldn't be reading Battle shonen manga, much less Jump manga.
The part i like the most from it, its the setting and how the story has been relatively simple yet it has some implications that have caught my interest.
compare it to BnHA that in my opinion has a boring setting, but has interesting characters(mainly the villains, the goods guy are just boring...)

Its an enjoyable read like you said, in the end that's enough for me to feel satisfied with a series and it only takes like 5min to read a chapter.
(I don't read a lot of stuff either at least atm)

Yuuki Tabata is still growing as an author and with complete editorial support...this manga is here to stay.

A final volume extra larger (since volume 191, has about 300 pages, anyway), very special. Akimoto turns 64 years old in December, may retire.

A final volume extra larger (since volume 191, has about 300 pages, anyway), very special. Akimoto turns 64 years old in December, may retire.

I thought about that possibility, too. The number of chapters in each Kochikame volume was increased from volume 191 onwards, as you said, so that volume 200 would be completed in the series' 40th anniversary.

We always joke about Kochikame going on forever and being an "eternal" series, but... I think it may end this year. It would be a perfect timing for its end.

it took precedence of the anniversary during most of those times.

Funny how when the anime first started airing Kochikame was really close to reaching 1k chapters , now there is a new anime project when its close to reaching 2k.

Will it get the 1950 chapter Cover...

It's a fucking complete compilation guide, chapter by chapter, issue by issue, volume by volume, and much more information attached. How can it be wrong, if there are no gaps? Shueisha can say whatever it wants as marketing, but not exact.

Proof, 40(years)x50(issues)=2000(chapters), but the magazine has 48 issues annually, had 50 issues before, but that was long ago.
