Has recommendations from famous mangaka ever boosted the sales of a series?
It can't exactly hurt it, but unless they're really famous it isn't going to do much. I've seen a couple series that got endorsements when they were already very obviously about to be canceled, at that point it just isn't going to make a difference.Has recommendations from famous mangaka ever boosted the sales of a series?
At the very least we at least know KnY isn't getting cancelled very soon. I'm hoping it at least breaks 30K this timeIt can't exactly hurt it, but unless they're really famous it isn't going to do much. I believe Your Lie in April did get a small boost, when Oda said how he like the series.Has recommendations from famous mangaka ever boosted the sales of a series?

This is a mangaka who got into the top 10 sales this year with a single volume released. It can't exactly hurt it, but unless they're really famous it isn't going to do much. You beat me to it. He's so going to do it and I know that ANN will jump on this since it's Togashi related.Watch ANN make some clickbait article about the promotion and a few days later we'll get a ForneverWorld video praising this SUPER BRAND NEW UNDERATED GEM APPROVED BY THE MANGAKA OF FELLOW SUPER POPULAR UNDERRATED GEM; YUGIO'S HAKU SHOW!

He's a lying shit head since he was "joking" that World Trigger doesn't have steam. What a hypocriteHe recently shouted out World Trigger and said something like "People said World Trigger wasn't making numbers, but look at its sales" lol
I know it won't be in Weekly Shonen Jump, but when do you guys think Kishimoto will announce his next project--- Double Post Merged, , Original Post Date: ---
Yeah, but the same guy also gave a recommendation to Mag Mell and that didn't exactly help it. If anything he might be contagious, that's on hiatus too at the moment so I'd be worried about Kimetsu now. This is a mangaka who got into the top 10 sales this year with a single volume released.
Edit: Gunjou no Magmel the Jump± series? Shame that was cancslled. Really wanted to see Edited Mangas.Wish Pochikuro would finish being scanlated as well.Yeah, but the same guy also gave a recommendation to Mag Mell and that didn't exactly help it. If anything he might be contagious, that's on hiatus too at the moment so I'd be worried about Kimetsu now.
Gunjou no Mag Mell in Jump+, it's one of the Chinese series Jump publishes in Japan. I'm not sure what else they've recommended, wasn't really paying much attention to WSJ until recently. What magazine did Mag Mell run in? Haven't even heard of it.
Kimetsu being a Jump manga already will probably benefit from a Togashi recommendation.
Has he recommended any other Jump series?
Has Oda? I'm curious as to what current series he's into; if any.
For sure.Gunjou no Mag Mell in Jump+, it's one of the Chinese series Jump publishes in Japan. I'm not sure what else they've recommended, wasn't really paying much attention to WSJ until recently.
Didn't really word that well, I meant paying attention to the Japanese WSJ specifically. I had a Viz subscription for like three years but didn't care enough to renew it again since all I really wanted was World Trigger (rip) and the SQ stuff that I buy anyway so I'm just reading the original now. I'm only following World Trigger and Neverland, dropped MHA/Soma/OP when I switched to Japanese since I don't care enough to put in the effort to read them. Also Amalgam and Demon's Plan but at least one of those is dead by now. Also planning on picking up Samon and/or Kimetsu when I finish the stuff I'm reading now, probably Samon first since I already read the first volume or two.For sure.
What series brought Jump back to your attention? You've been missed in this thread. Have you chdcked out the subreddit yet?
Oda recommended Hero Academia in one of this SBS segments when he was talking about Horikoshi once submitted fan art to the art gallery segment. Not sure if it boosted its sales or not, but it's neat to know. What magazine did Mag Mell run in? Haven't even heard of it.

it's on hiatus because it caught up with the China, I'm not sure the mangaka care about continuing it anymoreYeah, but the same guy also gave a recommendation to Mag Mell and that didn't exactly help it.
