Takes place in a world where everyone can use <power> but MC-kun is for some reason the only kid who can't use <power>. His childhood friend is incredibly gifted and everyone loves him. MC and his friends are attacked and childhood friend is beaten, then MC yells about believing in yourself, then it turns out he really was a special snowflake all along and is actually the only person with a specific, super-strong variation of <power> and saves the day.

Figured I'd just generalize it to all of Jump in case you wanted to ask about anything else afterwards.
When this became a conversation about My Hero Academia (and many others series that have the same formula for that matter)? :derp

Nah, works perfectly. I was hoping Amano Youichi would have been able to come up with something more unique but I guess he really can't get a good story without a writer as a pair...Damn I pictured MHA while re-reading and I love MHA hehe.

I always wonder why people get triggered when the mangaka writes the way he wants, Remember its their manga not yours. Just because you think its generic doesn't mean it is. this is what people call opinions, I mean I'm just happy Sharkbait likes Black Clover, I just happy people are reading Yaiba. The point I'm making is you should diss and make fun of mangka for writing he story their way or the way they ended just be happy you read it and thank him for his hard work. I know I do.:cheez

It''s like that in general fam, as you can tell I'm a huge FT fan but to say the story lacks at times especially in the latest arc which is very up and down, is an understatement. It can be annoying cause negative views drag more on you than positive but you take the good with the bad. Same with Naruto, final arc degraded the series but Naruto will forever be my shit like FT. This isn't the final arc for FT so that's something go for its future. Still you just thug it out. I think real fans always appreciate the author's work but should understand its flaws and not fangasm at everything that happens. That's why the manga industry is shit to authors, it's easy to start out a story but to whisk it on the way without using many familiar troupes in shonens is hard.

Two phrases of wisdom I've tried to extract from a Fairy Tail fan for my entire life. I'm moved right now.

If you go on tumblr you see those type of fans or under Hiro's twitter page lol. I have high tolerance for alot of things in shonens but there some stuff you can't stomach (Juvia's fake death) or should accept for fans truly loyal to the story and plot. Still you grind out the low points or worse case scenario take breaks (I did w/ Naruto at one point) cause the highs/consistency is what you live for (ex. Irene's backstory). Whole point of shonens anyway, for the marathon not the sprint. That's enough with that though. New movie is hype over 9000 and anime most likely returning will be good promotion hopefully.

not fangasm
I think people have a right to do so, I mean I don't want to be a downer all my life because couple people's comments. I say let them fangasm if you don't like it just ignore it, I just want to see people happy I think this is how the world should be. And yes there are flaws in shonen manga even seinen manga but the point is who cares just enjoy the manga

This is one of the most naive post I've seen in this thread. First off, yes, you're right when you say the manga isn't ours. However, you need to remember that the mangaka don't draw manga for their own self-satisfaction, they draw it to entertain the readers and sell copies to make money. The consumers have a right to complain when they believe that what the mangaka is churning out each week is subpar or just plain bad because really, it's their opinion that matters. Secondly, something being generic is not an opinion. If a manga has reccurring cliches that are common for its genre, then it is in fact generic. That is what it means to be generic. Anyway, the only thing I can really agree on with you is that I'm also happy that more people are reading Yaiba, because the more exposure the better.

On another note, about a month ago my friend gave me a Pokemon booster pack and earlier today I was looking at the names of the artists and I discovered that our very own DemizuPosuka did the art for a Mantine card. Honestly did not expect to see his name on something like that, and I'd love to see more Pokemon drawn by him because I love his defined contour style.

I respect this, it's hella ironic. Growing up watching DBZ, Naruto, YYH, OP I felt like everything it gave us was greatness and it could literally do no wrong but coming onto forums it's crazy how influential people's comments can be. I never thought it was bullshit how Goku never really died after being killed like 3 times before until I came onto forums a year ago. The irony is you come on forums like MH to discuss your favs with other people so it's a double edged sword highkey. Still I see both sides to it, what you're saying and Emdee is saying. It's a way to coexist both ways. I don't get people who dread reading weekly series they dislike because they to be a "completionist" that's bullshit to me. If anything take a break. People who complain week in and week out with no real basis in their words are never heard to me.

Is it naive or are you the one that is naive, Yes you have the right to complain but the mangaka has the right to not care, these people work tirelessly to make the manga you guys like to complain about Yes Generic is a opinion I don't care about how many people say it is it doesn't make so. You step out of your comfort zone and view the perspective from mangaka point of view

If people shouldn't complain and mangakas shouldn't care about the triggered ones that do

then why are you complaining? could it be you're the one who is triggered :teehee

anyway, people are entitled to their opinions, it's impossible for everyone to agree on anything, just remember just because someone is being critical doesn't mean he's not a real fan and remember to not let other people opinions affect your level of enjoyment for anything

I'm not going into the whole "being generic is just an opinion" thing for too long since I disagree, it can be measured and compared therefore it's an assessment not an opinion
but just like opinions, assessments can be different from one person to another so there's no point on agreeing or disagreeing
although I do think people who read lots of different things have better assessment than people who don't

heh, I guess I went too long after all

I think Posuka used to work for Corocoro so him/her drawing something for Pokemon isn't that surprising

This. People should have the right to not only praise, but criticize the things anyone do. Even if it's a manga that you enjoy from big mangaka that's getting paid.

These days it's a crime to dare criticize anything Nintendo does when they honestly deserve it with how mediocre 2016 was for them (especially the Wii U's last year). So what if you enjoyed games like Metroid Prime: Federation Force or Paper Mario: Color Splash (or even Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE as ironic as my avatar is), but that still doesn't mean that they strayed away from their roots or objectively inferior games to their predecessors. Just let people have their damn opinions instead of being "shills".

Person A is a foodie, he like to visit a lot of different restaurants and try many things on the menu
Person B always go to the same diner and always order the same dish

Person A claims X doesn't taste good, Person B disagrees
Which one will you trust?

see what I mean?
