yup, thats why i believe that blackbeard has tow brothers inside him, i forgot the medical term for that, but it would explain everything, he uses the yomi yomi no mi to put the df powers he steals into his brothers, since they cant eat on their own.
his flag further evidences this, as it is extremely similar to the flag of the decalvan brothers, twin captains of a crew allied with whitebeard, but his flag has 3 skulls rather then 2, meaning that he and his brothers are triplets rather then twins, this also means that he is probably looking for a third DF, if he hasnt already found one.
I like the Cerberus theory, basically Blackbeard would've eaten a mythological Zoan, model Cerberus, which would allow him to have 3 fruits in total due to the "3 heads". I think it's cool because that would make Teach a Zoan/Paramecia/Logia hybrid, which is kinda cool, unseen and original for a final(?) OP boss.

That doesn't seem to be the case anymore though... I mean, whether BB has 2 or 3 brothers doesn't mean anything, we were already told several times that he's been hunting DF users in the New World... if he could only have 2 or 3 he certainly wouldn't be at it for so long...

Maybe it's just me, but even before the timeskip I got into my head that Blackbeard would steal DFs and give 2 of them to each of his crew members to make them super OP, and with everything we've been told post-timeskip I'm inclined to believe that that's what he's doing. I mean, all the SHs having to face a member of the BB pirates, each with 2 DFs seems like a pretty cool setup for the "final fights".

So if it's proven/shown that BB is actually giving these powers to his crew, then it probably has nothing to do with him having brothers or anything of the sort. Otherwise that would mean that BB will have many, many DFs for himself, and somehow I just don't imagine Oda going that far.

I mean, Teach is already making "history" by being the first person to have 2 DFs, why go further than that and make him have 10, 20, 50? I think it would be just too troublesome to keep track of, and eventually the Yami/Gura ones would end up losing their importance.

Speaking about weird bodies...

To me, it is an obvious feature of D.'s to stand above normal humans. They were, possibly, the very pinnacle of the Ancient Kingdom, because the surname goes ahead of just one race. So, when Marco declares this:

I can expect unthinkable traits from them, not senseless such as the cerberus theory. In Jaya, @BigBadDogg was quite right, the crew is referred from that comment, just for the fate/luck/destiny/dream exclamations.

Dual DF discussion doesn't seem to be right in this topic, but nevertheless after reading some of the comments I thought what if Teach has an undeveloped Siamese twin somewhere inside or on his body, which counts as a second "soul" which can consume a DF?

see my reply above.
Basically, him having a "twin" doesn't really expain his actions. If having a "twin" is what allows him and only him to have two DFs, then why would he be hunting down/stealing even more DFs?

I think only BB can have 2 or more fruits. Remember in Jaya, Zoro and Luffy sensed multiple people from BB. It could have been him and his crew, but I believe it was something about BB body.

Wow things get nutty during these breaks. Zoro and Luffy are talking about BB's crew, which Nami was totally unaware of. She (and I think the reader at the time) were under the assumption that BB is just this weird chump chilling in the middle of the road eating pies and talking about dreams. But then we find out that the insanely competent sniper from the beginning of Jaya is just a crewmember for BB. This was Luffy and Zoro silently acknowledging the fact they just met a very powerful crew.

that is why i prefer the brothers theory, it limits the number of fruits he can have to a small and manageble number and makes the power mostly unique to him and not his crewmates, by the way i think he is also hunting for abilities for his crew but not to make them have multiple powers, but just to give them each an OP power.

after failing to get the mera mera he went after the gomu gomu, but after that he went after the mera mera again, so he is simply going after what he can, this doesnt mean he can have tow fruits.

i think you are jumping to conclusions with your line of thought, the idea i put forth allows for blackbeard to have up to three DF, as he would have tow brothers inside him, and as for the DF hunt it can easily be explained by tow factors:
-first of all he is looking for the perfect third fruit for himself, this involves finding all kinds of DF powers and seeing them in action long enough to determine if they are what he is looking for, if not he can just kill the person or...
-second of all he can give DF abilities to his currently abilitiless crewmembers, remeber that as a yonko he seems to have a ton more subordinates, all of wich can recieve a strong ability that wasnt fit for blackbeard himself.

so all in all the triplets idea DOES explain all of blackbeards actions including the ability hunt.

I think this is just a characteristic of his DF, for example electricity doesnt work on Luffy because he is rubber (logical), so in Blackbeard case darkness means lack of light=so it's basically nothing, thats why darkness DF doesn't count as a normal DF, same as this DF can nullify enemies power, it also nullify limit of itself as DF.

It cannot be the fruit, that was clarified by Marco.... In fact, what interests me more is the conversation between his new recruits..http://www.mangapanda.com/one-piece/577/5

So obviously his crew was aware of it, but there would have to be an incentive for them to join. I think Blackbeard has a secret method to allow using two devil fruits. That would allow all his crew members for the same. After the timeskip, what we know about BB members is that they are looking to hunt down all Devil fruits. While Jesus wasnt revealed to have any DF abilities, i still suspect that is the case.

From what I know Marco just said that he has different structure of the body and ask himself if this is how he has done it ? He didn't say that he has done it because of this body, so the DF ability theory can't be excluded based on that. Crew obviously knew what he will do, because Blackbeard looks like a person who like to show off, so I believe he has mentioned his crew before what are his plans. Btw wondering if sea water works the same way on a Blackbeard, or he can also nullify its power.

That's exactly the point, the guy wrote that they basically hunt DFs because BB can somehow eat more DFs, but we have seen Burgess trying to get DFs for himself, first he wanted mera mera, and when failed he tried to get gomu gomu from weakened Luffy saying he specifically wants it for himself.

Burgess didn't say anything about wanting to eat the fruits himself. He was just saying if he couldn't get away with the Mera Mera, he'd at least come back with the Gum Gum. He was lamenting a consolation prize.

Here Burgess says:"Then your gomu gomu will be mine", not "ours", not "blackbeards" http://www.mangareader.net/one-piece/786/8
Here Burgess says about mera mera:"That power is mine", not "ours", not "blackbeards" http://www.mangareader.net/one-piece/787/5
It is quite clear what Burgess means, he fought for the mera mera to be his fruit, when failed he finds Straw Hat to be at "death door" after his first round against DD and then proceeds with tying to kill him to take gomy gomu.

I don't know if it is a matter of certain way of translation or anything, but that's what I read.
