Would Lucy be able to hit him though if he channeled his inner Donald Trump and built a wall justushiki or whatever the barrier is called? I don't know about that, Lucy could probably tire him out and then be able to hit him but freed isn't some absolute fodder now, he could still cause her some troubles especially with his ecritude magic which can add to people's pain etc. In the end, Lucy will probably win mid-high diff, but I don't think Freed would go down that easily.

I haven't voted yet cause I'm not so sure due to what Lucy can do and same for Freed but I'm curious on your thoughts, how do Freed win?

Laxus has shown us that runes can be set up mid battle, this make Freed pretty damn OP. So im gonna have to go with him. Lucy would need to be at a level where she could blitz or oneshot him so that he cant set up his runes, but i highly doubt Lucy is at that level.
Freed wins through depriving Lucy of oxygen, i'll say high diff cause he'll take a beating while he's flying around forming the enchantment.

I mean... I like Freed a lot, but Lucy is just superior at this point. I don't like when people use this argument for Lucy, but Gemini... That's it.
Lucy can just copy Freed with Gemini and disable any rune Freed could set up. Then with her versatility, stardresses, 3 spirits at once + Urano Metria, i don't see how Freed can win this.
I'd like to believe he's still superior, but unfortunately with current feats, Lucy wins.

Actually if Lucy really has been going all out then she should be exhausted by then which is what I see the meaning of going all out. Not to mention we still have yet to see how truly strong she is which is proof enough that she really hasn't

We don't know what capricorn star dress can do. After time skip in fight she only summon one spirit and we know that she can summon 3. After "fight" with Branidsh she doesnt even been exhausted. We don't know also what Aries star dress and Gemini star dress can do.

Well mainly because Lucy said in the fight that she was having to really muster resolve to fight Brandish. Thus she was motivating herself by her wanting to save Natsu.....the point being.... she was conflicted. And we have seen conflicted mages much stronger than Lucy (cough Irene) lose to people and Irene should have one shotted her opponents.

Lucy did not used any of her high tier stuff.

No Urano metria.
No breaking of any keys.
No summoning more than one spirit.
No spirit unison raids like with Gemini powering UM.

These were all last resort type of stuff she used to win previous battles.

That was the true farce of the battle. While Brandish could have instant killed her, Lucy also wasn't depleting her magic to fight her friend.

Our celestial mage started with sand which she knew Brandish was allergic to from the beginning of the arc (how Cana karate chopped Brandish with low difficulty). You see she encircled Brandish with sand then moved in close to throw a few punches/kicks (thus Cana's one punch man was stronger). Then when Brandish shrunk her. Lucy annoyed her (like a bee stinging) until Brandish made her larger. Before moving quickly above Brandish to try a surprise attack with her new aqua metria.

It was more tactical like how Lucy was in the Flare battle of Gmg... as oppose to how Jackal/Tartaros pushed her, magically and emotionally to summon that third spirit.... to break that key..... to use urano metria on her own.... to combine star dresses.

And Dimaria interrupted before Lucy could do anything else.

So we assume she would have eventually used the bigger stuff.

But....

...the world will never know......

can we really consider her breaking keys apart of her arsenal? Lucy that we know wouldn't do that shit again unless it was for the same reason she did in the first place. I agree with you guys on the last star dress and stuff but she was deff going all out when fighting Brandish.

Lucy fought at her best against Brandish. It just didn't last long enough to see her pull out CSK or UM.

Whether or not Lucy could have used CSK or UM against Brandish is up for debate. I'm not talking about whether she can use those techs, what I question is whether Lucy could outfight Brandish to the point that she can cast Urano Metria.

As far as Capricorn dress goes, I'm not counting it as a game changer. I consider Aquarius and Loke to be the strongest spirits in terms of Magic Power, so I don't see why Capricorn dress all of a sudden makes Lucy more powerful. It makes her more versatile for sure, but it's the same thing as God Serena having 4 other elements. Serena's output is the same for each element, but he has 8 tools to choose from.

Anyways, my pick is Lucy with medium-high difficulty.
