Chapter 521: is Lisanna and Elfman and Ajeel and his grandfather since Lisanna/Elfman and their fight with Ajeel had just finshed and Ajeel's grandfather appeared in chapter 521 while Cana was not. While Chapter 522: is when Gildarts and Cana vs August started and chapter 523: is when we saw Ur again and Natsu/Zeref also fit chapter 523. Acnologia could fit chapter 524: since Irene is the mother of all dragon slayers. The next chapter title is either refers to a new character or a character reappearing introducing themselves to Lucy, Gray, Happy and Mavis since the next chapter title sounds like someone who introducing themselves to someone they first meet

So 526..... August and Zeref to fit the pattern? Or Cana and Gildarts?

I think August and Zeref fits the pattern more then Cana and Gildarts since we haven't had father and son yet and Gildarts and Cana were apart of the pattern already.

I don't think your wrong about all the Dragneels being on the volume cover and there's another pattern with the chapters in volume 61. So the next family relation/bond will have to a relationship that's a bit different then Father and Son and siblings which will be sisters since we don't have sisters yet in the pattern and the only sisters there are is Lisanna and Mira and Yukino and Sorano.

Yea sisters is very likely.
Also these have all been child to child and parent to child things otherwise I would say maybe next chapter could be husband and wife. Maybe Mavis and Zeref since thy have not interacted. Or could be mother and son for August and Mavis.

The only sisters that make sense is Mira and Lisanna since Mira and Lisanna are in Magnolia and maybe we get a moment between Mira and Lisanna this chapter. The only husband and wife are Alzack and Bisca though we haven't had mother and son yet so mother and son is more likely then husband and wife.

Plus marriage isn't really promoted. Except for Alzacks and Bisca. Family parents and siblings is promoted more.

The only way could see yukino and Sorano since they were by Larcade is if they are in Magnolia now too. Which would be a possibility if the keys need to rejoin.

More think it's Mavis and August cuz the Dragneels are being promoted this volume as well.

Yeah parent and child are used only every three chapters in the patterns. Seeing with Erza and Irene, Gildarts and Cana, and Zeref and August. Have you noticed all the family relation/bond in this volume were shown at some point in the series and/or in this arc in volumes 54, 55, 56, 58, 59, and 60.

In this volume, the significant mystery about Dragon Slayers was revealed, did you enjoy it? Right after the reveal, some people were saying: "That's great setup!", the others "He came up with this plot recently, it's not fair" and others just "Hmph!". As for "coming up with plot recently" - if you by that mean, that some development wasn't decided even before 1st chapter, then almost every plot may be clasified as "recent made-up". One editor was saying "The story is a living thing". Different factors are included in it and it grows. There's no way, that full story can be decided from the very beginning, so with the story flows I will complement it little by little.

Irene being mother of Dragonslayers was decided before she appeared in manga. On the other hand, her connection with Erza wasn't set at all. That's why she and Acnologia couldn't talk about Dragon Slaying Magic during their confrontation, it because "her connection with Erza wasn't set yet". I should've been more careful with this one.

Speaking about "recent made-up", I remember I wrote it before, but almost everything related to Erza is recent made-up. When I introduced her into the story, her magic, relationships with Jellal and Natsu weren't decided yet. It was like starting the bus before all passengers are on board, but as if she was a proof of "The story is living thing", she showed her growth and became one of the most popular FT characters.

I'll definitely add some "recent made-ups" in the future chapters. Well, not showing it too much is also professionals' job.

So basically Hiro is saying that Acnologia didn't recognise Irene as DS just because she didn't meet Erza at that moment...

Then why even add that connection to create a situation where Acnologia can't smell Dragon two meters away from him..
If Hiro would want to add more to Erza backstory ( Mother figurine ) he could easily swap Neinhart with Female character and do that in Hargeon ( Jellal and Kagura was there so it was good setup for that kind of reunion ) and leave Irene without connection towards FT and during first encounter give us some heavy foreshadowing about Irene past in her encounter between Acnologia and later have Irene vs Acno after some time where everything would be explained but we get.. ( Well we all have read that :P )

That " Recent made-up " not always brings the best outcome for the story and why do I feel that it also referring for August...

Capricorn dress in the second movie... Well it may be one of the reason why I will watch it tbh ( I want to see my zodiac in action )
