We Never Learn being 4th is cool to see, just like the characters (tan line best girl) and the idea of a genius tutoring 3 geniuses at their respective subject surprisingly works. Yuragi being low sucks but it's expected. giathuan must be a prophet cause ain't nobody got time for romance. If Yuragi doesn't hit at least top 5 for the Christmas party chapter....

@ChocoBar9 explain to me when an anime is canceled (Bleach) to compared to when the anime studio goes on hiatus (FT) cause I'm kinda curious, I guess sales are best way to determine these but I feel like it isn't always the case sometimes

I don't know about Bleach or FT animes

however generally speaking tv shows get cancelled when the channel that airing it doesn't want to air more of it (most of the time due to bad ratings)
a tv show is on hiatus when it's still on the work (most of the time there's no script)

Quite sure Bleach cancellation is a rumor, because whenever any long show ends people just say it was cancelled. like look at the articles for when Fairy Tail ended in 2013. https://dailyanimeart.com/2013/03/02/fairy-tail-anime-cancelled-on-30th-march-2013/

Why cant an anime ending just be called an ending and not a cancellation? Is Naruto Shippuden ending meaning it is cancelled?
That's why I wanted clarification on it, any time I hear Bleach anime I hear it was canceled. Not sure how to differentiate a hiatus/ending to an outright cancel

>bleach is a long running anime that didn't get an ending, not even an original anime ending one
>have 166 fillers episode so they can't use we caught up to source material excuse
>last Bleach episode aired 5 years ago

what more proof you need tv tokyo cancelled it?

Thats not proof. Thats just rumor and speculation. By your logic, you could say Fairy Tail was cancelled twice which is kind of senseless to say.

Yeah its just been on hiatus for 5 years

Japan is never explicit as to whether a show is being canceled or not because quite frankly its embarrassing for the people involved hence why its always headline that its "ending" rather than outright being canned. Whether it comes back years later is entirely irrelevant since its usually revamped as an all new series then a straight up continuation

https://dailyanimeart.com/2013/03/02/fairy-tail-anime-cancelled-on-30th-march-2013/
And as it turned out it was cancelled since the original studio behind it didn't want to continue doing it and when it did came back it had a completely new studio working on it and had a much shorter run

Why cant an anime ending just be called an ending and not a cancellation? Is Naruto Shippuden ending meaning it is cancelled?
The difference is that Naruto Shippuden ending has been headline for an entire year now while every example of an anime ending came abruptly within the middle of an arc, fans already know that the manga ended over 2 years ago and don't have any material left to animate while fans of Bleach and Toriko know that there were at least several arcs worth of material to be animated.

Fairy Tail is now a "seasoned" anime, completely different from Bleach.

Bleach WAS CANCELED. The manga continued even after the animu finished (with good sellings I should say)

So all 12/13/26 episode manga adaptations are considered cancelled anime? Are all unfinished LN adaptatios considered cancelled anime?

For not "seasoned" anime, yes. You can't compare LN adaptions with Bleach. None is on pair with it.

I repeat... BLEACH. WAS. CANCELED.

So Haikyuu, Magi, Arslan, and 7taizai are all cancelled?
Seasoned anime... Seasoned anime... Seasoned anime... Seasoned anime?

All of them with continuations and/or continuations to be... Announced.

This is kind of interesting actually because nowadays we hardly ever see anime "cancelled" as a lot more are seasonal. They finish their run, aren't profitable and just never return.

Yep very rarely if not at all do anime get cancelled and if they do its usually before production finishes the first three episodes, this was usually how you would get a majority of OVAs back then since they were mostly just failed pilots that couldn't get the interest of sponsorship but had to get a profit somehow . If a long-running anime "ends" its usually means that production has ceased and is time to wrap up the current arc hence why there's always leeway in announcing when the series will end instead of abruptly stop airing it. The most recently example I can think of where an anime got clearly cancelled abruptly was 2015's Brave Beats which ended after 27 episodes and was immediately followed by a TV reairing of the Gundam Unicorn OVA cheaply repackaged to fill up the slot until the next show to airing the fall.

This is not all, it's exactly because of that that we're in search for the next One Piece... Not only because of the hype, but because people "want" a neverending anime.

Too bad this won't ever happen again since even Shonen Jump titles (that in the past were got long animations like Dragon Ball, One Piece, Bleach, Toriko, etc...) are all seasonal now.

I think the main reason for the sudden shift to seasonal anime is because it's cheaper for the animation company to produce then a long running anime that and the complaint I'm sure they here from fans saying the pacing is super slow and not to may people care to see filler episodes that interrupt an arc out of the blue because it caught up with the manga. Plus it's easier to keep people interested in a short run then a long run because eventually they'll get bored of the show and just find something better to watch.

all the shows with best ratings are long running shows (OP, DBZ, Conan, Maruko, Pokemon etc...)
people didn't get bored
