Hello, thank you for the comment. We chose 'Chapter' as the translation for 最終章 (which literally does mean 'final chapter') as usually the 'final chapter' of a story refers to a large part of a story where everything starts to come together. We didn't realize people would take it as the actual last manga chapter (最終話). We avoided final arc (最終編) as the final chapter may well be composed of multiple arcs, it is impossible to know yet. Hopefully people will feel a bit more at ease thanks to your comment.

They might be referring to something from the movie website, like a translated script part. Saying there's a "part" that's tied to the ending of the movie is more believable that the whole movie being canon, which has already been confirmed the entire movie isn't canon like Phoenix Priestess

While it's not official, they did base their information on an actual quote from Mashima and the movie website. They are a fairly reputable source which translates Japanese news into English.

The introduction page does actually say the "final chapter starts from here." It calls it a new story, but also calls it as something related to this final stretch of the manga.

The comment Manga Tokyo was refering to is, in fact, from Mashima and was quoted (among other places) by TV Tokyo and on press releases and such ahead of the 3/17 presale of tickets.

So, what I'm trying to say is, the article is not wrong or fake, yet connected story doesn't necessarily imply canon directly either. An "Original story" is what I recall early teases as saying.

So let me guess,the story is somehow connected with this arc even though it's non canon.

I stand by my theory that Dragon Cry has the power to control the souls of dragons, and it is what Acnologia used to steal all the dragon souls 400 years ago. Acnologia's Power is the fusion of all the elements of the dragons which he stole souls from, which makes it similar to Etherion. I believe the woman is attempting to lure Acnologia to Crocus so that they can use Dragon Cry to release the souls, weakening Acnologia. However, I think Dragon Cry's role in the movie will only be a name drop. We might get a backstory flashback, but I think the plan will fail when Natsu and Zeref's fight escalates. I don't see Christina avoiding Acnologia from Magnolia to Crocus, and I don't see Acnologia ignoring Natsu and Zeref in favour of hunting down Wendy (which is the biggest reason he has for chasing down CHristina). .

As for the role Dragon Cry will have in the movie. I think the Kingdom of Stella is attempting to use it to revive the dragon race. I'm going out on a limb, but I think they've created artificial dragon bodies from lacryma, and they need dragon cry to bind actual dragon souls to these bodies. The movie may or may not be canon due to the timeline, but I think dragon cry will be name dropped in the main series.

These designs are pretty unique... Swan looks hot as hell, Gabri looks funny looking but its probably the hair. I like how they're all black >>>> lol. It's in an entirely new country so it's nice to see diversity to go along with it. It's like how Bee and all the Cloud were black, different country, different people.
