The first advanced screening finished up a little while ago and there is a 2nd one tomorrow. Not really any spoilers yet, but on Twitter, people are saying it's pretty good.

While on the subject of ships, this was posted on the 2ch pairing thread after someone asked for a report on the movie after the preview screening.

Seems like the other ships weren't as satisfying since there was less? Gajevy might have gotten a small cameo, but Jellal never showed up.

Other tweets so far also mainly mention Gruvia and Nalu.

When spoilers and leaked scenes from the movie start coming out after May 6th don't forget to use the spoiler tags just to be courteous to people who wanna wait for the movies to be subbed. Speaking of this, how long did it take for Phoenix Priestess to get subbed from it's drop date? What I mean for comparison, The Last and Boruto took over a goddamn year to get english subtitled, I hope we don't have to wait till 2018 just for subs... Fall 2017 when the blu-ray comes out is hopefully best case scenario

Since it's screening in the US, it will probably be subbed in theaters or possibly even dubbed. Otherwise the box office draw probably won't be profitable enough to screen. We'll probably get spoilers within the month of may.

How interesting, that makes me think that couples who become canon in the movie, will not be canon in the manga (Natza still has a great opportunity to be canon).

What gives you that impression. As far as I'm concerned, all the main pairings have been confirmed in chapter 532. The movie seems to have major moments for NaLu and Gruvia, which definitely has a strong foundation in the manga.

That makes me think Nalu, Gruvia, and the Dragon Cry Artifact are what connect the movie to the arc. Which would make a lot of sense seeing that NatsuxLucy and GrayxJuvia had a lot of moments in this arc and the Dragon Cry Artifact might be connected to Acnologia.

I definitely think Dragon Cry is connected to Acnologia. I think the timing of the movie was planned. That's why we had Natsu enter dragon force right now. My prediction is that Natsu will be towards the end of the next chapter, and when we see him his Dragon Force will have evolved to match the form we see in the movie. The chapter apparently comes out on May 5th, which would just be 1 day before the movie premiers.

The pairings are to be expected because... well, we already saw a bunch of NaLu moments with them holding hands and looking at the starts and Lucy hugging Natsu. The Gruvia interactions is something I look forward to being surprised at.

I'm guessing Dragon Cry is what allowed Acnologia to steal the dragon souls. It probably controls the souls of dragons or something, and the Stella Kingdom wants to use it to revive a dragon.

Agreed Dragon Cry must be connect to Acnologia somehow and judging by the colors of Dragon Cry that on the of the covers of Weekly Shonen Magazine I'ld say it's likely. The next Fairy Tail comes out for anyone who's not in Japan is on May 5th but the next Fairy Tail chapter is released in Japan is on May 10th.

Ah. Because of leaks being ahead of the WSM. Yeah it makes sense that if the manga was going to reference stuff from within the movie, that it happens after the movie is released.

Oh I'm sure the leaks will be out long before I get the chance to go see it in theatres. I don't think it'll be out in the US on the 5th (though I might be wrong on this), so expect Japanese leaks before the English fans get their hands on it. There's was also a pre-screening, so if you can track down someone who has seen it you might get some info. I've been trying to do this, but the search has been hard. =S
