That's pretty wrong.Slayer advantages doesn't mean a weak fighter will be able to do the same thing like Gray did.

Gray is a high Tier Spriggan level mage.

Secondly, are you denying that Gray had Des advantage against END?Then he should have used normal ice make magic against END not that Des Magic.

Thirdly, the author doesn't need to spoon feed everything. And Irene has comparable M.P. like August so it's natural she is immune to it also. But when people say Gray can resist Age Seal when he couldn't even resist Command T of Brandish that's plain going against Manga facts.

And judging by Brandish's words Brandish's MP>Gray's MP because she didn't find any difficulty against Gray in using the magic.
Reread my post I said advantage or not gray=END ur making seem that des advantage is the only reason gray can keep up. Des gray can damage a spriggan lvl mage anyways so.. debunked brandish use it on base gray not des gray there is a difference it's the same thing with base natsu she didn't use on fdkm natsu if she she did then I would have agreed with u. And we have seen that manga can contradict itself many times in this manga hiro sucks at PL

Ugh, Slayer advantage is some of the worst lowballing I have seen regarding Slayer magic. If we went by that logic then Bradman would be>Larcade, and we all know that's not correct.
Slayer advantage ONLY works if the Slayer is strong enough in the first place. The biggest outlier of this is Sherria in her base form barely doing anything against Dimaria, and in Third Origin proceeding to duke it out with her and beating her out of her Take Over form. The Slayers in the GMG could barely do anything to the dragons back then, where's the Slayer advantage argument?
Gray was able to beat the Tartaros demons because he was STRONG enough to wield Silver's magic back then, until it ran out with him absorbing Memento Mori. It's a combination of his overall combat ability plus Slayer magic, this isn't some DC crap where even small shards of Kryptonite are able to bring someone like Superman to his knees, the mage in question has to be decent enough to wield the magic.
Seriously, Gray barely used any named techniques against Partial E.N.D (Mind you Gray was also partially demonized), and he even matched him in CQC. I'm pretty sure Slayer advantage doesn't apply to CQC :yodawg

Des is a major reason no doubt.Add to that Gray had immense defense and speed.

People are saying Gray can resist Age Seal because END resisted. But a very important point you missed.Gray was in Base no doubt but Natsu was not in END mode either at that time when Brandish used Command T on him.His demonic arms had vanished,he was unconscious. No demonic marks were present too.

Look at what happened to Mard Geer by Des Magic in Tartaros.Even though Mard was atleast 2.5x stronger than Gray still he got destroyed.

No one is denying that Empi. But you are skipping that he did have Des advantage.Des magic at the hands of a mage of high tier Spriggan level mage like Gray is a dangerous thing.

And you are assuming Gray is on the same powerlevel as END when he even failed to resist Commad T :pwned

Overall I agree that Larcade > Bradman, but in a fight I do think Bradman would win due to slayer advantage. We've already seen how great DeS advantage is in Tartaros, base Mard went from casually wrecking Natsu, Sting and Rogue to getting destroyed by Gray. We also saw how Tempesta got fodderized despite giving Laxus some trouble earlier in the arc and beating the Thunder God Tribe.

I think that slayer advantage is a decent argument overall due to previous examples we've seen, but I agree with you in saying that Gray vs partial E.N.D isn't a scenario where this applies since, like you said, a majority of that fight was unnamed moves and CQC.

August allowed Brandish to cure himself. On the other hand on Gray got effected by Brandish's magic. But she could not use the same magic on END.She even said,"It's power surpasses her's".

Obviously she didn't say the same about Gray.

Many people including @Emperor Spriggan are making the mistake that just because Gray went against END on par doesn't mean they have same powerlevel. We have already seen what happens when a Slayer is strong like with Tempesta.Gray had immense Des advantage against END.

Dimaria had Age Seal'd Brandish who vis a vis used her magic on Gray.So it's natural that Age Seal will also work on Gray. And if Gray had more M.P. than Brandish surely, pretty surely Brandish would have said so like she did with END.
Brandish wasnt able to shrink END's seed, not the same as not being able to heal Natsu's wounds.

Im aware that Slayer advantage gives a significant boost in power, but it doesnt change the fact that offensively Gray is on par with END. At best END has superior durability, if we're talking speed/attack power there is no difference between the two.
On top of that Natsu had yet to fully demonize, only transforming up to his arms. And based on how "partial demons" like Jiemma and Minerva are barely affected by DeS magic, i'd say END wasnt all that affected either.

1. August - Ok this guy could take this whole group by himself and in the end he would be the only one left standing ... So only he advances to the next round lol. Haha jokes aside (or is it a joke), August is the pretty obvious choice. I already said this in a chapter discussion that almost all the top-tier caster type mages are a joke to him. He has even proven that his so called weakness againts holder type mages doesnt mean much, he took a Haja Kensē holder type crush spell from Gildarts at point blank and all he got was a nosebleed lol. He would probably nuke everyone with his heat magic if he were to attack first .... If he were to wait and let others attack first, he would just nullify and copy their magic in an instant.
Also, because Dimaria's Age Seal isnt restricted, he is the only one in this group that can beat her, which leads us to ...

2. Dimaria - seriously, what were you guys thinking by not restricting her Age Seal. Even without her hax time stop, she is verry powerfull because she has God Take Over. Her speed in God form is top-tier, and her age scratch is a hax for anyone who took a huge amount of damage through his or her life. Her age scratch even activates if someone touches her ... you would need a god slayer or a magic nullifier (or END apparently) to bypass her age-scratch defense if you wanted to punch her. Someone would argue that Gray could defeat Dimaria because he fought on par with END, and END defeated Dimaria, and that makes Gray stronger ... not likely ... Gray had slayer advantage againts END, this is what i think is the only reason he lasted that long (and also Mashimas bullshit powerscaling).
So with her Age-Seal in full gear, and with her God Take Over in effect, she could probably make swiss cheese out of everyone except August (and maybe Bloodman). Lol Gray would meet the same fate he met in GMG arc againts the dragon spawn.

3. Gildarts - Very easy pick. The strongest mage in Ishgar (if you dont count Natsu). This guy is as strong as full powered God Serena, or maybe even stronger by a small margin. He has a devastatingly powerfull and deadly magic, and can also break spells of other mages. In this battle royal, the only mages (not counting August and Dimaria) that could give him a very difficult fight are Gray and Bloodman. Other than those four mages, everyone else is a joke against this guy.

4. Gray - Gray has become extremely powerfull and if it weren't for him Bloodman would be 4. on this list. Gray has proven that he can tangle with top-tiers, and this was shown especially in his fight against Invel and END. He is probably one of the best physical fighters in the series. With his DS he could defeat Bloodman who would, because of his hax, give anyone else a hard fight. He would also probably give Gildarts a good fight, but Gildarts would beat him in the end. Other than that, he would be lolstomped by August, and swiss cheesed by Dimaria.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

5. Bloodman - Nooo, wwhhyy! Because of Gray, he could not land number 4. Gray is the ultimate counter against Bloodman, because he has DS and also curses do not have an effect on him. I think that Bloodman would give Gildarts and Dimaria an extremely difficult fight, Gildarts would have more problems against Bloodman than he woud have against Gray. If you analyze all the curses of Tartaros you can see how hax this guy is, its almost laughable.

Bloodman is probably one of my favorite spriggans, but unfortunately he was the victim of Mashimas bad writing. Hiro probably didnt realize how powerfull he made him by giving him all the curses of Tartaros. And also he pinned him against the one mage in the north who can bypass his MBP area effect, and can consume the properties of his curse (just a minor rant, beacause i liked Bloodman ;) )

If you remember Brandish easily enlarged that Tumour without even Natsu knowing in chapter 501.So it is not like that she finds it easier to shrink wounds than that tumour when it was possible.

In CR translation she says,"Whatever it is,is far more powerful than me".

Ok fine no problem with this. But as she didn't say the same regarding Gray,we can easily assume Hiro Sensei is saying END's Curse power>Gray's Magic power. If we say otherwise it's denying what the author is saying.

And secondly when did Minerva and Jiemma fought Gray that you are saying Des Magic isn't that effective on Demonised humans.Jiemma only hit Gray,Gray didn't even hit him with Des Magic. And if we go back further we have seen full canon evidence of Des Magic working on Demonised Humans.Gray defeated Doriate in Sun Village with Des Magic.

Did people forget this?I have a feeling people don't want to give credit to END of surviving against a Slayer, and even in this arc we have seen how Slayer magic is devastating.Dragon Irene got oneshotted by DS Magic. The fight had lot of CQC but it doesn't change the fact that END was hit numerous times by Des Magic.

And as it is the version we have seen of END may be his final version. There is no evidence of END having a full transformation.

Gray was neither above Base nor Etherious at that point of time.Mard had 6000 Curse power-more than 2.5x than Silver.

And yeah your argument doesn't apply here.Natsu was in his Base but still his body was powered by END's Curse. And i hope you don't think Base unconscious Natsu can perform a feat which END cannot.

  1. Dimaria Yesta: no one here could handle her Time stop hax :hip (she would use TS b4 August can even react) :cheez
  2. Bradman: again no one here in this group can inhale those MBP,only reason Gajeel could was cause of his Iron lungs:hip
  3. Neinhart: oneshotted Brandish and Jellal and if natsu didnt interfere he wouldve oneshotted Erza too,a very underrated sprig tbh :(
  4. Midnight: badass hax magic,if it werent for the rest of the CS holding him back im sure he wouldve given August an high-extreme fight :noworry
IMO :)

Also im not voting August cause hes too hax and shouldnt be included tbh imo :darn

After reading the awesome pages of discussion (seriously, this is much better than I thought it would be) I'm going with August, Bradman, Gildarts and Gray.

My reasoning being that if DiMaria uses Age Seal right off the bat, August can just nullify it, leaving DiMaria to face August, and maybe Gildarts. Once DiMaria falls, Neinhart, Midnight and Minerva are almost certain to fall next since:

- Neinhart has the durability of glass and with the amount of firepower going around could easily get caught in the cross fire
- Minerva struggled with a Historia of Wahl, any Spriggan tier should be able to deal with her fairly easily
- Midnight just doesn't have the feats to suggest he can compare to the Spriggan tiers, in theory he should do well but... I just don't want to speculate too wildly, particularly since he doesn't have any post-skip feats (August doesn't count, pretty much anyone would lose)
- On top of this, all three are human, so they'll be getting weaker the entire time due to MBP's

This leaves August, Bradman, Gildarts and Gray as the four left standing.

No one is denying that Brandish said END is far more powerful than her and no one is saying that she said the same thing about Gray. But its still "that thing" that's proving troublesome to Brandish, doesnt mean she isnt capable of shrinking Natsu's wounds.

As for the "Partial Demon" thing, im not saying they are totally unaffected, but they seem to be less affected than real demons.
Mard was getting thrashed by a bunch of nameless DeS spells, while Jiemma effortlessly blocked Zeroth Longsword. So either base Mard Geer<<Jiemma or DeS isnt as effective on partial demons.

I dont think it has anything to do with who wants to give who credit. People were just underwhelmed by END's performance, and so dont consider him all that powerful. After all it definitely didnt look like he was taking any DeS damage. And the fact that in terms of offense and speed he was still only Gray's equal kinda implies that his durability wont be leagues beyond Gray's either.

See the argument started due to do this.As Gray fought equally with END,he should be able to resist Age Seal. But the main thing is i showed you "that thing" which is the very thing which gave END power to resist Age Seal.So if Gray can't resist Command T then he is not resisting Age Seal which worked on Brandish.

And if you look at the picture Gray,he was preparing his Des spell in his hands.Upper body portion had no contact with it.Then Zoom the picture and you will see Jiemma hit Gray on his head with his elbow,he didn't even touch that magic. And we have seen Doriate got effected by Des Magic too.

END's power was underwhelming no doubt. But it doesn't change the fact he came equal against an Ice Devil Slayer. That is not a feat to be laughed at.Zeref mentioned END can't kill him and the form we had seen may very well be his final form.

Natsu was not affected because he is Main character simple as that.... and Hax only works when Story progression demands it :yodawg:yodawg

even Mashima is trolling and doesent give two shits about power-levels...

But unlike with Brandish "that thing" wasnt the only thing that was unaffected by Age Seal, all of END's body was.
Gray was unconscious when Command T worked on him and in base, on top of that Brandish was healing him not attacking him. What she did to Gray is no different to what she did to August.

Elbowed him in the head? The distance between Jiemma and Gray is too far apart, and Gray didnt make a sound, something people generally do when getting hit(see Gray getting hit the next panel and screaming "GUAH!!!"). Plus thats not how you elbow people, your arms dont form a perfect right angle when you elbow someone. He blocked the spell, Jiemma was in his signature blocking stance and you can see in Gray's stance that he had just finished a downward swing. If Jiemma had truly interrupted the spell then Zeroth Longsword wouldnt have been fully called out, the name wouldve been cut off at the end. On top of that in the bottom left panel of the first page i gave, there is clearly an attack in motion.

Natsu reverting to normal the moment his rage dissipated and the book of END's continued relevance in the manga, definitely make me think that the END that fought Gray, was incomplete.

END got power from "that thing" which in turn increased his overall Curse power which made him immune to Age Seal. And the very thing made him immune to Command T.Some people were saying that Gray has same powerlevel as END which is untrue because even while unconscious END can resist Command T which Gray cannot. So this definetly proves END>Gray atleast in powerlevel. If they were really equal Gray would have resisted Command T like END did.

And Jiemma definetly Gray's head. You can see Gray's head falling from the impact.

Well maybe END is incomplete, who knows. But if he is revived completely i will apologise to you and say i was wrong. But until it really happens we cannot assume.

Gray doesnt have the same MPlevel(CP?) as END imo, i'll say that. However going toe to toe with him does imo mean he has a chance at resisting Age Seal the same way END did.

Just looked like Gray reeling from swinging his sword downward. Like i said, weird looking distance between Gray and Jiemma, weird arm position for an elbow strike(no ones arm is at a right angle when elbowing someone), no scream in pain(like he did when Jiemma actually hit him a panel later) and lastly Jiemma was in his signature blocking stance(like against Natsu). Didnt look at all like Jiemma landed a hit to me.

Well we can sorta assume, i mean his whole tournament is really just a bunch of assumptions right? Besides, why would END change back to Natsu if he was complete?

But don't forget Slaying advantage had a role in him going on par with END.

And i doubt he will resist Age Seal when he can't resist Command T.

Lol at people saying Gray can get passed Age Seal. Gray isn't Ultear he has nothing to counter timestop. Him and everyone in Hargeon was affected by Age Seal (he was literally on the same battlefield as Wendy). And no, Gray doesn't match even a partial END let alone the real deal. Also use Gray's own feats don't piggy back off of others.
False. Dimaria and Gray were never together on the same battlefield at the same time.

Gray was deployed to defend Southern Fiore, which consisted of Dimaria in the ranks. However, being in the same region does not equate to the same battlefield. We never once see them cross paths, neither was it implied Gray and the rest were affected by Age Seal when Dimaria employed it. Let's not get too carried away in overhyping the spell. It is unlikely Dimaria's Age Seal even possess the same AoE as someone like Wahl, when she incorrectly surmises the range Wahl's attacks were capable of.

While it has never been stated how huge is Southern Fiore, the distance from the port to FT guild hall is a good 370km apart. And baby, that would mean it could fit a State from New York to Washington. Which really isn't anything to be surprise about as Fiore is a goddamn country, and Magnolia is just a city. In addition, the characters and battles are dynamic. It is erroneous to assume Gray and Dimaria were in the proximity of one another.

Brandish's Command T worked on Gray but not on END.

There is a clearly a powerlevel difference between Gray and END-even more than the gap between Mard and Gray in Tartaros.

END's Curse Power>Gray's Magic Power

Hiro has already potrayed this

And why are you forgetting that Gray had Slayer advantages against END otherwise Gray would have one shotted END like he did with Tempesta if they were equal.
Brandish's spell also worked on Natsu too. It could work on Natsu and Gray because they were not as strong as they are now. Fairy Tail is a series. A series where the characters grows and develops steadily as the story progresses, be it in a good or bad way. That is another topic to discuss.

Gray and Natsu are stronger than they were when they were left astounded by Brandish's magic power during her introduction. Mashima went the extra mile to show us how much the tables have turned when Brandish and Dimaria were unable to comprehend Natsu's strength in his fight with Neinhart, and when END awakened for the first time, respectively.

END is an Etherious. An Etherious is driven by the single-minded inborn desire to kill Zeref. Natsu at the point of time was that.

Holding back? Ludicrous.

Gray was stalemating Natsu here. Not willing to concede this point is blatant downplaying. We don't know how much of an slayer advantage does Gray has here, because it is not clear how far has Natsu demonized here. Regardless, most of their exchange here was CQC and melee. Neither of them was seen busting out their strongest techniques against the other.

Gray has grown from molding static ice creations with both his hands, to instantaneously freezing Natsu's flames with a swipe of a hand. And telepathically separating his ice then freely control it in mid-air to direct them towards his foe. Neither of them was able to wound the other despite landing hits. Natsu was like the flat track bully he usually is, overpowering his way out with brute force. Gray was actually outmaneuvering him.

And this is the Gray who was already wounded after his fight with Invel, running mostly on adrenaline. This, however is a how traumatised a fresh Dimaria was after getting brutalized by Natsu.

Age Seal has her limitations. It is not the be-all, end-all as some choose to believe. Otherwise we wouldn't have seen Dimaria employing Age Seal so quickly in almost all her fights. Nobody can be that daft to do so. The move she actually kept and only employed it when Age Seal was negated, was her Chronos soul takeover. Unfortunately we have fighters here who can overcome her strength in that form.

1)Brandish used Command T on Natsu in chapter 501.It is not like that she had used it 50 Chapters back. She used it on Base Natsu that time. His END power didn't start that time.

2)Brandish herself stated END's power is much above her.But i don't find a single panel she saying the same thing about Gray after using Command T on Gray.I may be wrong or skipped it.Can you show me that panel where Brandish states Gray's power surpasses her like END's?

3)Irrelevant.I never said END was holding back.Infact if you see all my posts i said they are on equal terms. But people are downplaying the Slayer advantage part.

4)See this panel

END was hit many times by Des Magic.Especially he broke that ice with his "Demonised arm".It's clear END didn't suffer like Tempesta or Mard Geer. They suffered immense pain even after being hit by a single Des Spell.

4)Gray was injured no doubt. But he also got a power boost due to unleashing his true power upon witnessing Juvia's "death".He went from a state of only injuring Invel's lips in Des state to trashing Invel in Base state.

But Natsu also felt too much pain(though not on the level of Gray i agree).Due to the tumour's pain he couldn't even move. After experiencing such a pain body gets under lot of stress according to medical sciences.

So the bottom point is Gray isn't resisting Age Seal if he can't resist Command T of Brandish. And this very spell Age Seal worked on Brandish.

But anyway as i mentioned Gray is clearing this group along with August,Gildarts and Dimaria.

Why would August even need to cancel Age Seal though?

If Gildartz can walk through (which he should), then same with August.

August could copy and cancel Age Seal, theoretically... but that would just give everybody else the advantage.

A smarter way would be to just simply walk through Age Seal (since August's magical power is higher than Dimaria's).

That way, only the powerful wizards will be walking through, while everybody who is weaker will still be frozen in time.
