Right now my temptation is getting high due to Togashi teased us about Kurapika on April Fools recently

Can't be from Togashi, especially since it was during April Fools. Such thing never happened before. You should stop thinking about it.

I generally think things like that are not going to happen.

Jump wouldn't announce how many chapters Togashi will serialize, simply because that could backfire and gains them nothing except hype in groups of people who'd already buy the magazine anyway.

HOwever, they would embarass themselves if togashi had problems in the serialization phase and could only do ten after all.
They'd be stupid to announce 40 chapters, EVEN IF they intended to do it.

Now about this arc:

+ 14th Prince: the cuteness/badass baby ever because she has nen XD~ trust me, you will love her -> The one that Kurapika is trying to be her bodyguard (more like “sugar daddy”)
+ 14th Prince’s mother: let just hope she’s not a b*tch - I’m rooting for her
+ 4th Prince a.k.a Tserriednich: The prince guy is the person who behinds all of the Kuruta clan massacre -> is the one that Kurapika is after next to the Phantom Troupe -> The sickest character even worse than Hisoka and Pariston
+ Other Prince: and surprisingly, Melody, Hanzo, and old characters are back to play as the other Prince’s bodyguard. XD~


Now for what we know so far in previous chapters recently:
1/ Leorio’s newest nen explained by Ging - Btw, Leorio has the power that almost similar to one of the Saint Beast that fight with Kurama from Yu Yu Hakusho
2/ Hisoka’s full name: Hisoka Morou
3/ Kurotopi’s and Shalnark’s Nen power
4/ Pariston evil plan - he’s about to drop too many Ants to destroy everything
5/ The Phantom Troupe is making another entrance to Dark Continental boat (Good luck with Hisoka)
6/ The 14th Prince’s Nen power (not sure if she’s a specialist) - but we know she can’t control it (she’s a baby)
7/ Kurapika is on the boat and trouble happened, he found out that one of the bodyguard is being controlled by some kind of a creature -> And Togashi “breaks the violin” when Kurapika is about to stop one of the controlled bodyguard XD~

I look in some japanese boards about this image. It was extracted from this link that doesn't wotk anymore, The structure of the link is very similar to last year hiatus-return page, this one. Someone in one of those boards, said that before the link was taken down, there was a text that said that it will be an information disclosure on 5/29 (monday), the same day that Jump 26 is released in Japan, and where that image of Gon came from.

The fact that says free, (無料 Muryō) makes think that either they are going to put the lastest 40 chapters of the serie for free (for those that want to catch-up whats is actually going on), or yeah, we are getting a 40 chapters run. Let's wait for the official stuff.

That would roughly cover the DC and election arc (if we exclude the kurapika one shot) and give you the proper synopsis for what is happening right now.

Has there been a problem with sales for HxH? It always felt popular, and that people were interested. Especially recently with the 2011 anime (which was a great adaptation).

Or maybe they're worried about people who've expressed displeasure with the hiatuses...

Same here. But, this is only 1 year hiartus. I think 40 chapter and for free is too much. Last year we came from an almost 2 years hiatus and they only made avaible the last 9 SJ issues were HxH was present, and not for free.

Both options are weird xD But the image was named "...TOP_bunner_hunterhunter_20170529.jpg" So, is safe to say that we are getting what this is tomorrow or tonight.

I don't think so, Vol 33 was the 8th most selled voluime of 2016, only behind One Piece and Attack on Titan volumes.
