No, really. Laxus has nothing on Natsu and neither has Natsu anything on Laxus to prove one superior to the other. This final arc messed up everything which includes power levels too. Natsu no longer is inferior to Laxus if we are going by feats. You cannot prove otherwise either.
I'm going with Zeref. I just don't see how Laxus can beat him.
Raw power is only one of many factors. And even then, Laxus isn't necessarily superior in that regard. Versatility, in my opinion, is what tips this battle in Zeref's favor. This is based on his...
Aside from what's mentioned above, Zeref also has more MP than Laxus and arguably has more endurance/stamina as well (after fighting Natsu for more than 5 chapters). This is excluding hype + portrayal... I wouldn't say this is that close of a fight though. Maybe Medium-High Difficulty.

Laxus despite anti-etherano (?) beat a Spriggan whereas Natsu was able to one-shot a Spriggan with Igneel's boost and needed Makarov to beat Jacob. And if it weren't for Lucy's asspull, Zeref would be walking away from a dead Natsu. And that's on top of Natsu and Gajeel having supreme difficulty beating Laxus arcs ago.
However, if Zeref somehow keeps his healing abilities in this match, he's likely gonna beat Laxus. If he healed from Natsu's attacks like nothing quickly after Happy too Natsu away, then I can't see Laxus winning.
True, but the same for Laxus. He was litterally dying in the only real fight he had and even when healthy later he was having trouble with a severally weakened historia Hades, sure he pulled off a win but it toom a while with was riduculous to me

1st page laxus is tanking that attack. 2nd one lacrade was injured\exchausted that isn't working on a healthy laxus in fact laxus can even dodge that plus he is a speedster blitzs zeref. 3rd page that's a base natsu base roar(not FDK) weak argument laxus attacks>base natsu attacks without POF. 4th page won't work on laxus cause mest was able to save him be4 killing him again laxus speed is top tier in FT second to jellal. (That guy blitzes acno)

Natsu+Gajeel having difficulty to defeat Laxus was indeed decades ago and serves no purpose in measuring their strength. And defeating a Spriggan where he had elemental advantage and had to heal from opponent's power? And to boot, using Fred's rune magic and some lightning that 'isn't a lightning' seems as an equal asspull to me.
Zeref is now deprived from regenerating which is a big disadvantage for him. Aside from this he does not have an access to FH and Time magic and therefore is pretty weak now. Laxus on the other hand has a bunch of attacks, which combined with his speed, are quite deadly.
.
.
So in short, I'll be going for a Thunderous high diff win for Laxus.

1st Page - I agree that Laxus can probably tank that attack but the purpose of it was to show that Zeref is not bad in CQC. He can certainly match Laxus the same way he matched Natsu.
2nd Page - Well, injured or not, Larcade's durability is still pretty high. As for dodging it, that would work if he doesn't get caught in this.
3rd Page - That was an attack from Igneel-Powered Natsu which I put around Laxus' strongest spell if I'm being lenient.
5th Page - I don't see Laxus blitzing pass Zeref's immobilization attack. It's almost instantaneous. Here is the full scene.
Besides, there are many other attacks that I didn't show which could immobilize Laxus if this one doesn't work.
There are quite a few points I have to disagree with.
Laxus Dodging Tempesta's Attacks
That doesn't really tell us anything about Laxus being able to escape Zeref's immobilizing spells. The difference is that Tempesta's attack wasn't instantaneous. They were several meters apart to begin with so Laxus was able to perceive the attack. Whereas in Zeref's case, there is no way to perceive it because a lift of his hand immediately immobilizes his target. It takes one panel to immobilize; several panels to kill.
Laxus Appearing Behind Tempesta
Not sure if this would work here. The first question you have to ask is: Would Laxus be able to wipe the floor with Zeref like he did with Tempesta? Because if you think about it, Laxus actually had plenty of time to appear behind Tempesta. The guy was literally having his face shoved in the ground for several meters before he looked back to see if Laxus was there. Of course not, unless Laxus was just standing there.
Lightning Nuke
Not sure about how Laxus casted it. However, it doesn't matter. I'd say Zeref's barrier can easily dispose of it. It was able to dispel Natsu's FD Roar which is at least on the same level as one of Laxus' unnamed nukes, if not stronger. Besides, August's barrier blocked his nuke no problem.
Laxus Teleporting
It never happened. The afterimages show the process in which Laxus landed a hit on Wall. Basically, he continuously flipped and proceeded to knock Wall down.
Overall, I do agree Laxus has pretty good speed feats (and attack power). That is why I don't believe this is a stomp. Laxus will land a few hits on Zeref and even force him to fight seriously, but ultimately, I don't see him winning given the circumstances.
Larcade wasnt just injured, he was completely and utterly trashed, to the point where walking was impossible and standing was an ordeal, i can scarcely believe he was able to pull off his magic.
Zeref two shotting a guy that critically injured isnt even as impressive as Neinhart oneshotting Jellal, Zeref's attack was much more of a surprise attack and unlike Jellal, Larcade was critically injured.

Durability isn't heavily dependent on injury and exhaustion. Laxus was able to survive an attack from Hades with little magic power in his body. Besides, I don't think Larcade was in that bad of a condition as you described. He had time to rest, had the ability to get to the guild hall, and even used R.I.P (or something similar) which is technically a finishing move.
Also, I disagree with Jellal being oneshotted by Neinhart but I don't want to derail this thread.

What do you mean durability isnt dependent on injury and exhaustion? Why isnt everyone oneshotted then? If Sting didnt need to exhaust or injure Larcade, why didnt he just to oneshot him with Rough Silk instead of pelting him with all those other attacks first?
The attack Zeref used would be enough to beat a normal Larcade, but only if he had Sting at his side nailing him with WSD attacks like Rough Silk.
Zeref didnt twoshot Larcade, Zeref and Sting both landed a ton of attacks that eventually took him down.
And even then Zeref only managed to do it through a surprise attack, no different from Brandish stabbing August or Neinhart nuking Jellal, in fact its FAR less impressive than both of those events since Larcade was already trashed.
Larcade had the ability to get to the guild? You mean when he literally crawled through the streets desperately trying to save his daddy? His PoF insanity was the only reason Larcade could fight through his injuries and use R.I.P, and even then the effort had him trembling
Zeref's best offensive feat is that gash he left on Natsu's face.
Zeref's offense is barely above Jacob's and his CQC is far below, his ranged attacks have been pretty lackluster too. If Zeref wins this fight he is doing it with pure durability, he is far too weak in every other aspect.
Wow. I won't deny, I really did expect this...But this is stupid nonetheless. How can people in their right mind vote for Laxus? The Zeref underestimation is really high here. I understand how much Zeref dissapointed everyone, but that's not enough reason to ignore feats/portrayal/plot/facts.
I could try proving why Zeref wins this, but XXEliteXXAceXX already proved everything that had to be proved.
I swear, if Laxus actually wins this...
Laxus is a FAR more impressive fighter than Natsu. Probably better in every way. Yet the only reason why Natsu won in a fight with Zeref was because of the fact he's END and plot-armor-desu.
Another Zeref fight... i still don't understand how Zeref power works but now let me speculate how his power work. From what i read in the manga it seems Zeref isn't powerfull at all, he is just smart, but intelect people tend to have weak physical body and durability, that's why Ultear CAN KNOCK zeref unconsious in Tenrou Arc. And Natsu can beat FH Zeref. So i think Laxus can win this match if his powerfull attack connected, only one strong attack is enough... Just once strong lightning from Laxus to knock Zeref.
So the advantage of Zeref here is: He has powerfull magic spells but Laxus has high durability... So Laxus win because of his high durability when Zeref doesn't have that durability
Where the hell do i state Zeref doesn't have durability? i say that Zeref doesn't have much durability as Laxus does m8...
And what makes you say that??? When did Laxus tank dragon level attacks? Because Zeref feats of tanking Dragon level attacks far exceed anything Laxus has ever had to endure.
True POF doesnt count, but true translation reveals that it wasnt pof that felled FH Zeref. Come off it. Zeref revealed Natsu defeated him with his own power.
This is ridiculous. This forum is full of so much natsu hate that they cant stand the fact that Natsu can defeat zeref but Laxus cant. Natsu can burn Zeref's Magic, Laxus cant. This is a very simple battle middled by bias lol
This is why these tournaments are bs.
I seriously cant wait for Laxus vs August to see what imaginary feats people give Laxus to give him the edge over the Magic King.
Again, if Laxus cant defeat August, he sure as gell isnt defeating zeref.
Obviously Laxus wins this round by levels of Laxus wank i havent seen since the last tournament where he surprisingly fell to jellal

And? The only reason laxus beat wahl is because freed randomly taught him a barrier seal and used pof to learn redl lightning for a grandfather he had never met, which makes less sense than Natsu being end which was established. Long ago

I don't care about the current discussion about Zeref and Laxus, but i'll just quote these two lines.
Zeref with no immortality and no regeneration and no time stop, is FAR from being August level.
Nobody, i repeat, nobody, can beat August in this tournament. So no, people arguing about Laxus beating Zeref doesn't mean these people would vote Laxus against August. Because Laxus can NOT beat August, period. The same doesn't apply to Zeref, the debate is real and justified in this case.
Laxus has attacks every bit as strong as Natsu's, including the unnamed attack that would've killed Azir without August saving him. Laxus has also shown speed feats far greater than Natsu or Zeref's. In terms of endurance, Lexus fought Wahl to a standstill while basically dead to rights, so his endurance was just as high if not higher. Also, Laxus can do something neither Zeref nor Natsu can: become intangible. His instantaneous ability to become electricity would cause him to evade or escape Zeref's binding spells. Also, some degree of Zeref's durability can be attributed to his healing factor which is restricted for this tournament. Meanwhile, no one is bringing up either his ability to create jutsu still barriers practically mid-combat or Fairy Law as potent weapons. I just think that Zeref is too linear a fighter to have the tools to beat Laxus. Zeref doesn't have particularly high mobility, I simply don't see him hitting Laxus as reliably as he hit Natsu. Additionally, we know Laxus has access to Dragon Force, but, and correct me if I'm wrong, he never used it during the Spriggan arc. So his upper limit of strength is some degree higher than shown. Unless Zeref can use death praying from Anksheram's curse at will, I honestly don't know how he'll successfully kill Laxus unless Lexus stands there and takes it.
