Funny how shortsighted people really are, natsu is the shining light of the guild even mentioned by someone like laxus, has helped a lot of people in life like laxus, wendy, lucy and even somewhat jellal in OS, saved the life of many people like erza, gray, serves as role model for new generation of mages like sting and wendy, have most of the best fights in FT, is a charismatic character who makes people follow him, has some of the best and emotional moments in the series, has one of the most mysterious backstories still some of the people says he is rubbish character just coz he was handled poorly in post TS.Guess gray and laxus fans need to chillup..

Gray wankers, dude, what are you talking about. Since when was I a Gray wanker, i didnt even say anything about Gray. Where did you get this my belief of yours.
I can see how you view Natsu's good points for being a good character, and its cool, i guess. He certainly had impact on other characters, and those characters had developement in the process because of that, but that doesnt mean he is a deep, well developed and overall great character, nope, not even in a long shot. Natsu from beginning to end never changed, he never got character developement, he always stayed the same (like Erza). He never learns from past mistakes, well we think he would learn like when Gildarts taught him about being weak and scared, but that never played a role in his character, he ignored it in the end all together while shouting constantly "Feari Teiruu Madoshi daaaa" and thats it. Thats Natsu Dragneel for you. He had good moments and emotional moments but it didnt develop his character in the slightest. Well If it did, you couldnt even notice it. Even Mashima stated that Natsu didnt even need inner monologue, thats how "deep" the character is
As you said he dedefinitely is charismatic, and people follow him, but thats it, he never gets past his initial developement. If you want pre TS Natsu character overview watch this video:

Well character development was only thing to judge a character then son goku and luffy. d monkey wouldn't be the legendary ones. Goku remained the same person from episode1 to last one and still considered as one of the greatest character of all time and my personal favourite.
Personally laxus grew more as a person than jellal. Author didn't attempted to develop him and simply made him a MC suitable for a light series. Besides if not for him hades would have killed them in tenrou arc final battle.

Well if handling post time skip was horrible no doubt, but so was nearly all of the characters. I think he should have turned evil for a some time to give some added depth to his character.

Character development ain't what makes the character likable, You can see many Mc's that doesn't have any character development yet they got large fanbase. It's actually true since Natsu got the largest fanbase in fairy tail. I want development to happen but it's Mashima and he is free to do what he wants to his characters so you can't really blame Natsu on anything. At the end of the day. He is a successful Mc who carried this story and made it popular and you can't deny that.

Natsu is alright, but he doesn't having any quality that stands out from my perspective. And I never liked Jellal's character.

On the contrary, Ichiya's humor has never failed to disappoint me, so I guess the answer should be obvious.

Not the best character, but better than the other two. Ichiya is at the bottom for me. Unless you're from Blue Pegasus, I don't see how he is the "Best Meeen Character". As for Natsu, his personality is great and inspirational. But his character has no depth which ultimately leads to his downfall.

I can't believe I'm actually voting for Natsu.

But between Jellal who was always too emo for me, and Ichiya who's basically a joke character, Natsu actually gets my vote.

At least there were times that I actually find him cool and badass and basically a decent MC especially during Phantom Lord arc, TOH arc, Fighting Festival arc, and Tenrou arc. Basically before the first timeskip lol..

Okay this will be very difficult to choose between laxus and zeref. Laxus has one of the best character developments in the series and zeref has one of the best and saddest backstory in FT needless to say both are 2 of my favourites. I have to do a coin toss to choose betwwen them coz its impossible to coose between them.
Done, zeref gets m vote.
