Honestly, I'm part of the minority that believes Hades with heart is stronger than Mard. I mean Mard came after FT powered up,but pre TS they only won cause heart was destroyed. Else,he was undefeated,kept coming back even if almost knocked out, more resilience than Erza !!
+ GH was said to be stronger than Tartaros, so imo Hades>Mard. With heart he truly is a beast,and I would have ppl such as Mira, Ajeel and Gajeel (imo e does nt have dragon force) go out before him...

No hades has overstayed his welcome, the guy should have gone before lucy, wendy and neinhart. The guy is very obsolete now. Mard still has his MM. He is clearly stronger than hades, heck he is probably even stronger than some spriggans.

It's a joke! It's a complete joke! This dreadful position proofs yet again that the "Most Underrated Character"-category which Mirajane received from the Fairy Tail Awards was more than justified. She didn't even make the top 20, like for real?!

Just think about everything that she has in her collection of feats. She took over Seilah, for example, who is undoubtely one of the strongest members of the Nine Demon Gates. She achieved Macro guys. FREAKING MACRO! You can all come up with that NLF-argument over and over again, but you're kidding yourself if you think it won't work on some of the characters that made it further than her in this rate. We even have proof that it works on Erza.

The funny thing is; Seilah Soul isn't even her strongest Soul. That's Alegria Soul. We'll come back to that later because it's, obviously, her best spell. My excuses for the spoiler.

THAT OUTFIT! THAT FACIAL EXPRESSION! THE DETAILS! Alegria Soul was for sure one of the few highlights from the Alvarez arc. It was a pure joy, especially for Mirajane fans (hey @Laxus). But the hype didn't stop by its design, because it also got some fantastic abilities. She evaporated a sea. Oh yes, she did. JUST WITH HER MAGIC POWER! When did any other Fairy Tail mage? When did any Spriggan? Being able to affect nature itself just with your magic power is a very, very rare skill. Still not convinced by the power of this Take-Over form? Well, she even managed to terrify Juliet and Heine with it who are around Irene all the time. There's one minus, though. She can only use this form for a limited amount of time. Not that it really matters, because she doesn't need more than a second to stomp some mages that still had relevance until the last chapter.

Mirajane vs. Freed

Yes yes yes YES! One of the best fights in Fairy Tail history, which may be a fact. This was the first time we saw Mirajane unleash her power. The introduction to Satan Soul still remains one of the most epic moments in the whole series. Mostly taking place in the air, Freed is forced to combine his previously casted wings with Darkness mode when he realizes he's useless without. After Mirajane blitzes him multiple times, she sends him away with Water Magic.

And then it all ends with a huge area of affect blast that's still impressive today.

Freed could've seen death there.

Precht Gaebolg (AKA Hades)

Hades was the strongest mage pre-x791 by far IMO, but unfortunately that doesn't gain him much in a rate with characters from the Alvarez arc. However, this makes the fact that he's in 22nd all the more impressive. A magical genius, Precht has mastered multiple magics and has a vast amount of Magic Power, coming from his decades of experience and research. Despite all of his strength, Hades was eventually killed by Zeref, furious that Hades and Grimoire Heart had brought more conflict into the world and had attracted Acnologia. Still, this doesn't make him any less powerful, and as he was the runner up in the Dark Mages Rate, we all know he's powerful.


BEST SPELL

Chain Magic

To be honest, I love this magic due to it's simplicity. There's no big explosion, no terrifying hax, it's just the pure physical strength of the caster being used to dominate the opponent. However, Hades can employ it in a fairly tactical manner, using it to hurl bits of debris at his enemies. My favourite use of this magic was against Makarov, Hades effortlessly chucking around Titan Makarov was awesome and really demonstrated just how powerful he was.

Hades vs Makarov

I'm sure some people are surprised about this, Hades vs Team Natsu is universally loved, and for good reason. It was the first and only time we got to see all of Team Natsu fight together, and it was the only time they were completely overwhelmed and almost lost. However, I prefer Makarov vs Hades for a couple of reasons, the first of which is the history between Makarov and Hades. When Makarov realized who Hades was, you really felt the confusion and betrayal, and it was heartrendingly clear that Makarov wanted to avoid battle with his former mentor at all costs. Another reason I prefer it is because it's the battle that really established just how powerful Hades is, as up until this fight Makarov had pretty much been untouchable, with him flat out low-diffing a fellow Wizard Saint. The final reason I loved this fight was the sense of despair it gave the rest of the arc, it really poised the question of: if the Guild Master of Grimoire Heart can beat the Guild Master of Fairy Tail so easily, what hope do the regular FT guild members have against the Seven Kin? For me, it was one of the only times Fairy Tail actually seemed in real danger of defeat, and this fight set the tone perfectly.

Yeah these rankings are fucked. I honestly regret most of my scoring since some are a little bias, I had no idea what I was doing. Alvarez Lucy is on the same level as Mard Geer so I can somewhat give leeway on him but truthfully you simply can't argue that him or Hades isn't fodder to Neinhart, Kagura, Lucy w/ CSK post-Tartaros now. I love Lucy but I really think CSK is a little overrated. Of course, Celestial Spirits work based on the user's MP and Makarov confirmed that Alvarez Lucy's MP is way more impressive than Tartaros Lucy so it would mean CSK would be stronger. But idk, before Kagura? Can't put feelings into power rankings. I'm just waiting on the top 15 now.

What am i seeing?


@Seven777 I usually agree with you, around 97-98% of the time, but i feel like you're downplaying the Spriggans a bit. They wree disappointing in the way FT beat them with asspulls and PoF and by the way their powers were misused, but there's no way they are inferior to previous villains.
Even when you're talking about Ur, Azuma etc all the Historias that gave a lot of trouble to FT members. They guys stem from... Neinhart's magic, he summoned them all, all around the battlefight in every corner, at the same time, in a blink of an eye and without feeling exhausted or whatever. And keep in mind that he said himself that maintaining 3 Spriggan Historias was tiring for him, so thats saying a lot in comparison. Plus, only the Spriggan Historias were stated to be under their usual power levels.
And Neinhart is majoritarily said to be one of the weakest Spriggan.


Anyway, back on topic. Lucy going out now feels right to me. Following my own ranking i'd say Hades and Mira are going out soon, but Mira might get placed higher than i anticipated.

I am downplaying them, but that cause imo people are still too caught up in their hype and the power inflation.
The only especially powerful Historia Neinhart summoned was Ur and Heartless Hades. And while summoning so many enemies is still impressive, its a very situational magic, and still much less impressive than F.Rogue enslaving 7 dragons.
Gildarts said that God Serena was small fry now because he didnt have the MP of a living human, logically that means all historia's suffer the same flaw. Its not like anyone other than Gildarts noticed this while they were getting attacked by God Serena either.
Azuma and Ikaruga alone kicking Erza's ass, the same Erza who beat Ajeel and gave Eileen a hell of a fight, should be more than enough proof that old powerlevels are still plenty relevant.

Anyway, I understand that my opinion is in the minority but i'd like to ask, in your opinion are Elfman and Lissanna stronger than Gray and Lyon? Stronger than Motherglare? Because apparently Ajeel is stronger than opponents like Ur and Motherglare, yet Elfman and Lissana beat him while remaining in pretty damn good condition.

Mirajane beat up a nerfed Jacob who didn't use transport. She clearly says the only reason she won is because he closed his eyes the entire fight.

She had to use her Ace Satan Soul Algeria. Feat wise Mirajane should have been out. Her potential might be high but that goes for alot of characters.

Also there is no way she should be higher than Lucy while Lucy has the CSK. Mirajane strongest Takeover via her own words is her Satan soul Algeria which the CSK drastically outclasses.

Well, he did it. The Underworld King made it to the top 20 while the She Devil didn't. I don't really get it. Why does Mard belong in the same top 20 as Bloodman, when Bloodman controls his primary curse PLUS multiple others completely? Thorn Curse isn't even a tenth of Bloodman's power.

On the other hand, I could understand criticism towards what I just said. Yes, Mard Geer has an Etherious form that boosts his capabilities. Yes, Mard Geer has Memento Mori. But does that give him enough value for his placement? A placement above Mirajane who took over his most powerful curse type, Alegria? I guess opinions differ.

I didn't want to cheat and include Alegria and Memento Mori as options for his best spell, since these are officialy curses (on a side note I do prefer Alegria). This pick, however, is a spell from Thorn Curse. It has the shape of a large, monstrous flower with vines that are used to attack opponents. Oh, and it can keep beings inside of its bulb. Don't come too close to it unless you want to be kept as a prisoner inside of a.. Carnivorous plant.

Mard Geer vs. Natsu, Sting & Rogue

Okay, it all stats off with a bit of a cringe when Natsu rejects the Twin Dragons when they want to help him defeat Mard Geer. Luckily, Sting comes up with an idea to make them work together, preventing us from another predictable Natsu solo fight. After a few useless attacks from the Dragon Slayers, the caretaker of Tartaros opens up the real fight with a spam of Thorns. During their clash, Mard Geer manages to stay unharmed even after an Unison Raid from the Twin Dragons and a powerful spell from Natsu in Lightning Fire Dragon Mode. But the absolute best part must be the moment he takes place at his throne, gives an arrogant gaze and tells the three that he didn't even activate his Etherious form yet. Amazing.

So we finally reached the top 20, which means we'll do 2 eliminations a day instead of 3 until the top 10, from where we'll do 1. The reveal shedule was kinda messy the last few days because of some delays, and I'm not 100% sure if that will be fixed today since I'm pretty busy and the next elimination is by me as well. But just remember that if we do 1 today, we'll do 3 tomorrow!

That being said i'll just give out a Thanks at the People behind this Fun Event at this Point,its been really fun in more then one way for me not gonna lie and i really look forward to the next Eliminations wether they'll make sense to me or not remains to be seen but it should be really interesting.

Glad to see that Mard is out, though tbf he was definitely the most impressive pre-skip character. His endurance and durability were both flat out crazy, and Memento Mori was pretty hype too.
