Remember when I used to have a Wall profile picture? I bet some of you that have been somewhat longer on this forum do. Wall has been my favourite Spriggan since the beginning. Also remember when we all thought he got defeated by Freed and Ichiya, before finding out that the destroyed machine body was nothing more than a proxy? An enjoyable moment that was.

Now there have been some misunderstandings over the type of magic Wall possesses. The thing is, he has two different kinds (three if you separate his Machias Physiology). One is Weakness, the one we got introduced to first, which grants him the ability to analyze other people's weaknesses. The other, Alchemy, makes him able to construct excessive complicated, powerful machinery without any effort. The crazy thing is that he can combine these two types of magic, causing him to create mechanical soldiers that exploits the weakness of his enemies. That's a rather incredible feat. Hax, too.

A form that gives him access to an Etherion Cannon. I mean, try to dodge a blast from that..

Wall vs. Laxus

Okay, I need to be honest here. The reason I put this fight here is because it's basically Wall's only actual fight in the series. Thing is, I'm not fond of this one. Laxus being able to survive thousands of missiles and a huge blast was hilariously unrealistic. So the inclusion of this is for the Laxus fans.

Not top 5, I have Dimaria, Serena and Brandish above him (She was unaffected by his blizzard, that at least shows shes superior than him to the point flexing his magic doesn't affect her), but I think he's middle of the pack as far as the 12 go.

The sole Ice Mage among the Spriggan 12 (and possibly) in the entirety of Arakitashia, Invel serves as the Chief of Staff of the Alvarez Empire, watching over the activities of the empire in the absence of Emperor Spriggan. He serves as Zeref's right hand man, to the extent of accompanying him even when the invasion of Ishgar begins in all earnest. He goes by the epithet of Winter General among the 12, due to his cunning use of Ice Magic.


Best Magic
Ice Slave​

Normally, I'd expect the spell that comes to mind when you think of Invel is Ice Lock, but personally, I never was a fan of that spell. I feel like it had too many loopholes and inconsistencies (Weren't either Gray or Juvia supposed to die for the spell to be released?), so I'll pick the other one, Ice Slave. It was the first named spell he was displayed using.
Invel is capable of suppressing one's free will via the conjuring of a single, icy collar that he fixes around his target's neck. When used on Mavis Vermillion, she described this Magic as one that stole her ability to form coherent thought, as well as one that rendered her unable to resist enemy orders. Irene Belserion later describes this Magic as being one that steals away the target's sense of self, likening it to freezing their very heart solid.


Best Battle
Invel Yura vs Gray Fullbuster

Funny how a majority of the Spriggans only have one fight under their belt so you aren't spoilt for choice Anyway, this was probably one of the weirder fights in the arc, owing from the fact that it started out well (Invel freezing all of Team Natsu bar Gray), to the revelation of the truth behind Devil Slayer Magic, but it all went downhill after Juvia's 'death'. Honestly, in my opinion, this is probably the weakest Ice based fight in the series). Doesn't help that Invel barey used any named spells like the other Spriggans, so there really is nothing noteworthy about it.

Best Moment
Instantly freezing all of Team Natsu

Definitely one of the better and more engaging Spriggan introductions, Invel wastes no time in freezing Natsu, Juvia, Lucy and Happy upon entering the battle. He also tries freezing Gray FullBuster, but the mage proves resilent to his magic by virtue of possessing the same nature of magic.

Best Relationship
Invel Yura and Zeref Dragneel

Possibly the Spriggan closest to Zeref out of all the 12, these two share a really interesting dynamic, to the point of Zeref tasking Invel with finding him new clothes after his first battle. Invel was also willing to fight Natsu Dragneel in his place when the Fire Dragon Slayer showed up in front of them to battle the Black Wizard.
Invel also believes Zeref to be the one being destined to rule the world, and that the demon E.N.D (who he knows is his emperor's little brother) is the only other being capable of defeating his master. To ensure that Zeref would accomplish his goal, Invel made an attempt at molding Gray into a warrior powerful enough to defeat the demon, another testament to his loyalty towards his emperor.

I meant not counting August and Irene. I don't see Serena getting out of Ice Slave either. I put hax over raw power more times than not.

Without Ice DeS advantage and a lot PoF/PIS I'd place Invel above Gray still. Invel was totally shafted and we got to see another bootsy Ice vs. Ice fight which the opponent gives Gray some sort of ice power up.

Invel does have better feats than Serena tho, and since 4 of his elements were never shown I think Serena is more middle of the pack as he's just muscle with no hax.

It was. Freezing concepts like thoughts is pretty OP. Too bad it was under utilized. Would've saved him from rampaging Gray lol.

To be honest even jacob was owning mavis and even in her ghost form, so that was not such a big deal Though funny thing about this is mavis tricked jirene of all people, same irene who should be no. 1 here.
Though I am happy that invel is behind my man bradman. e definitely was more threatening.

I don't know whether it was his lack of personality or his power not being impressive to me.....well his armor was kind of cool....but yeah he did manage to play some mind games and enslave Mavis. I believe if he had just stayed at the guild hall Irene would have successfully extracted FH and the war would have been different.

Well plot didn't allow him to stay, but definitely had he stayed there mavis would not have tricked irene. But then had irene not used universe one gajeel would have stayed dead and natsu and lucy would have died by heat blast from august.

Yeah, not a big fan of Invel either, the guy was pretty underwhelming. The whole concept of his magic was sooo boring too, "pure ice magic" that freezes everything? Just a less creative version of Gray's magic and a less awesome version of Silver's, yet he actually thinks its superior? Stupid. Then there was him getting his ass handed to him by base Gray and his Ice Armor shattering from a single punch, dude shouldve gone out earlier.
