Well to be honest, I don't think the reasoning for the vote kill would be very deep in the first place. It's just day 1 and we barely even know anything. Everyone is suspicious. Sometimes, you just have to start somewhere right?

Of course, that’s just basic Day 1. And that’s why I’m trying to create more to go on by inquiring about the reason as well, when one wasn’t given.

The wording “I was planning to vote for her” just made a tiny bell ring in my head since that could imply it wasn’t a spontaneous random vote.

Pink: The state of the DN.
Blue : Hints about the holder.
Purple : What has been written in it.

If I am killed by the holder(suppose it's Kato) N1 for example and you receive the DN. I suppose we'll get something like this :

Kannon will be written in Purple, hints like: ''The current holder wears glasses, the previous one was a trap" will be on blue and ''The book is into someone else's hands'' will be in pink.

Interesting thoughts. We'll have to wait for day 2 to confirm it as we get more text, but it's possible the blue and pink text is, just like the purple text, in one way related to the Death Note.

To be honest what Im looking for the most right now is the way they leave their thoughts, for example "So this like this, cool" like if they are only trying to reach the posting requirements out of fear of messing up (I was like that in my first game as mafia so I can relate)
Voting in round 1 still remains random no matter how much we try to avoid worthless discussion.

The "I was planning to vote for x" thing is something we can see in two ways in my opinion.
First one: I, among many others, do like to tease our fellow members right? (I was actually considering to vote for @Emperor Spriggan to annoy him for example)
Second: That indeed there is something deeper behind it. Perhaps just a hunch (If you know people a bit better, you'd probably be able to tell easier if they are Maffia or not).

It may be random for some townies, but it's never random for mafia members. On the contrary, new players who are thrown on the mafia side tend to be very easily recognizable by how they act on Day One. Surely you already know all this, right?

Take @Emperor Spriggan. Spent almost an hour between liking the opening post and sending his first message, voted right away for the only player who already had a vote on himself, refused to give an explanation while liking @MarmaladeSky's post defending @EmptySoul when she was questioned about a similar behaviour. He's clearly following the game, but posts only the bare minimum. He also sports a sig with a scene from the TG anime, which is a scientifically-established indication of a person of loose morals.

And there you have it, your vote isn't random anymore, but based on the observation of other players' behaviour. You probably won't have much substance to go on until the following days, but voting for someone you think could be acting suspiciously is already better than a blind guess (or something stupid and honestly obnoxious like "Day One favourite victims"). Which, by the way, is a common excuse for mafia members trying to look inconspicuous...

Same, if you're townie we could do nicely in later phases. You seem different than usual, very confident in yourself and free to talk what you want. I wish I could take that as a sign of you being townie, but you're constantly evolving your playstyle with each game. I tend to trust the wrong people, so I'll stay wary of you for now Lambu. Don't wanna be shocked if I see you using that Death Note gif again

If you share a bit about your role I'll give you hints to mine, how about that trade?

As for motivation, on the contrary I think I'm actually less motivated than usual Previous 2 games I tryharded like crazy(especially after day 1 in both games) and the game was still lost in a heavy stomp, that beat me up a bit. I'll still try to do my part and contribute what I can.

The colored truth thing is really interesting, I'll do some thinking on what Pink and Blue mean. For now my theory is :

Guests are sloppy and ungrate- Notes? ​

The post says that "Notes" are lying around, not one but multiple. My assumption is that there are three notes and each one is written in different colored truths. Each one has different uses, this is backed up with this part of the post :

Secondary Role ~ Holder of the Note

A Note with very special powers exists. Upon receiving the note, you gain a secondary role:

1. The player whose name is written in this Note, shall die by night
~
2. The player that holds this note must write down a name
~
3. The player has to pass on the Note to a player they haven't passed it to yet. The hosts pick someone randomly if the player doesn't
~
4. Obtaining the Note prevents you from using your primary role, and uses up your night action
~
5. The Note does not prevent you from making use of any secondary role. The Note can always be used
~
6. Failing to either write down a name or pass on the Note incurs 1 (+ Nights passed) penalty votes the next Day
~
7. You receive the Note during the start of Day and pass it on at the end of Night
~
8. The Holder of the Note shows up in investigations like a non-townie normally would
~
9. The kill failing incurs no penalties
~
10. If the Holder of the Note is lynched during the Day, the Note is destroyed along with them

11. If the Holder of the Note is killed during the Night, the Note is passed to a random member of the killing party instead

The rules for "The Holder of the Note" are written in Purple, so this role has the Purple Note and its use is for killing people.

The Pink Note is what can find the Purple Note.

The Blue Note is what can get rid of the Purple Note.

And comparing them to the Purple Note, they would be secondary roles with their respective abilities.
