It's a part of a learning process, though. After aknowledging something, reparation shouldn't be a big deal, and then you can make better decisions in the future.
Plus, what comes around, goes around.
You must live without making mistakes, you must live thinking before acting. D:
I don't know how ppl lives the other way DD:

@Xadyu Damn it, you were some sly bastard back then :evil

Idk why people see saying sry as some kind of weakness or concession :oh
Its solely a matter of pride, some people see apologizing as a formalism and others as something that you do only if you are truly sorry. Theres no way around it, even if I agree things would be much better if lowering your head wasn't that hard.

Live without making mistakes :lmao Humans make mistakes it’s how we learn. Yes, thinking before acting is best but sometimes we just end up doing something wrong and that is why the word “sorry” was invented :)

I apologize if I realize something I did unwillingly or without thinking first caused someone I care about pain or sorrow. I know I’m not a perfect human being, and if apologizing will keep someone from hating me for something I did which I truly regret, why shouldn’t I? Hopefully it will keep me from making the same mistake again.

An apology is, in my mind, not all about saying “I’m sorry I did what I did” but a way of saying “I will try to improve myself as a person and not repeat this mistake”, and it’s up to the other person if they will give me a chance to do so and thus forgive me, or not.

I do think many people apologize too much though, for any little thing. It takes the meaning out of the act of apologizing, and some people’s “sorry’s” are just basically meaningless to me.

I’ve thought about this recently since getting a kid, because kids think they can do any shit they want and then say “I’m sorry” and all is forgiven. And sadly, a lot of adults have that mentality as well.

Because Tom, you're the only one that like the opposite of what everyone likes. :nod

But this Banana nanana song gets super annoying after hearing it so much/often.

That can have 2 other causes as well in adults, though: it's hard to measure/identify what causes pain on others and sometimes they won't come clean and let you know about it, and it's also hard to change someone's nature and maneirisms as time goes by and fix some behaviours^^" I mean, talking for myself but I guess it applies to others, it's been taking me a long while to learn some things and change my perspective...

Agreed, a real apology is something that should be meaningful and have after-effects, but I also think that in many situations (even if I think Im still right about whatever problem) I like to say Im sorry for being part of the distress the other person could be feeling.

Sometimes I prefer to lower my head first, even if I think I shouldn't, so the other person can also notice their mistake. It helps a lot when it comes to coexistence and understanding. Though I get why theres people that prefer to stay firm.

I rarely apologize. I just admit my faults and keep it moving.

The Vaiana german dub was pretty good tho
I haven't seen that one yet. But German dubs are pretty quality stuff most of the times. :nod

Yeah, sure. I never apologize, but I want to at times. I just forget to actually do it. :lmao

I only apologize when I did something bad subconsciously, but even then it's not really an apology. I take responsibilities for my actions, and if I did something bad, I tell people I didn't necessarily mean it or wtv, but it's what I did, and it's not like you can't undo anything.

Yeah, but kids are cuty and cuddly, that works in their favor.

I apologise all the time - but only for small, meaningless, things.
Like when I almost bump into someone - even if it is their fault (they weren't looking where they were going)

guess it's a British thing

I rarely do anything which I feel guilty enough to feel someone deserves a heartfelt apology from me, however

If I bump into someone I don't apologize, I make a gesture though.

If someone bumps into me... Ooooooooh boy. I actually lose my mind when they don't apologize. Motherfuckers should watch out then, I completely lose it. :lmao

That gesture?
In my mind; Always.

But no, I'm not much of a talker, not in private, definitely not in public. I just make a gesture like I'm sorry. Not sure how to put it in words. ( :lmao )
