While Orgz has a point, this fight was fucked from the beginning.

I'm so full of all the whining about regular breaks.

The guy has been doing like 60-hour work weeks for almost 20 years. He has a kid and a wife. Jeez, let the guy live a little.

Oh, Oda. I was confused for a sec.

Yeah, people can't really bitch about his breaks, and if I recall correctly, he has more than 60h work-weeks.
He's been doing it for two decades, his health declined a lot. He basically doesn't have a private life at all.

I get it when people bitch about Togashi or Miura, but even those have health issues by now etc.

Yeah, its not like he it's case Togashi or Miura.

Besides, maybe, if he takes one week a month off (and in all-likely hood, it isn't even a full week off even if a chapter is delayded), he will never become like Togashi or Miura. Togashi has never been the same since the burndown he got while working on Yu Yu Hakusho. Who knows, if those guys would have had regular small breaks, they wouldn't need break years these days.

I never understood those kind of defender fanboy comments tbh. People can very much complain. Especially when there‘s serious dragging-out going on with the arc in addition to breaks.
Hard to convince anyone to brush it off by saying it‘s hard for him.

Okay, I admit to maybe just trying to be the opposite end of the spectrum from the “I hate OP it sucks no matter what happens and yet I read it every week and make a thousand posts about how I hate it”-people. There’s just no way this is the worst OP chapter ever, I thought it was a pretty good end to an otherwise rather dragged out fight. I’ll admit it’s not a spectacular fight but it makes sense. It’s not super well executed but people comparing it to the flaws of FT fights are just set to hate whatever Oda does at this point without trying to think for two seconds.

Seriously, first people complain that Luffy runs away from Katakuri when he’s losing. Then when he returns to the fight because he resolves to overcome Katakuri, and does so (and just how he is able to do it is also explained) people still bitch about that instead. Sigh.

People are actually comparing this to FT fights?

Come on, everyone and their mother knew the first chapter the fight began that there would be massive amounts of whining once Katakuri loses(because honestly expecting a different outcome is naive af). People even joked about it in the manga/husbando wars that the event should end before the fight ends and inevitably pisses off everyone.

It‘s not as bad as what people compare it to, but it‘s still a disappointing mess, which was sadly predictable from the start.

Wow. Defender fanboy = someone with sense of empathy, common sense and self-experience on working on tightly scheduled creative enviroments.

You can have all the opinions of the content itself you want, but you have no right at all whine about a industry veteran and a family man taking couple off days off roughly once a month. Actually most workers in wellfaring countries have such rights. Besides who knows, maybe he uses those breaks also for backgroundwork and writing ahead?

Artists don't own anything to their readers/followers.

Hah I saw that moral highround reasoning coming from you the moment I posted. It‘s more than obvious that you‘re fanboying hard here, just read again what you wrote.

Which isn‘t to say you‘re not right about his situation, but the „no right to complain“ part is just ridiculous.

I don't understand, it was pretty much set in stone that Luffy had to win..so the fact that people are disappointed is beyond me. IMO I think the fight could have been started and finished better but overall it was a good fight we got to see ALOT of new things.

Oh, all according to your keikaku? You are such a sharp and insightful fellow.

I understand being annoyed by breaks. I am too. Because I like OP and I wish to read it all the time. But seriously, that is not ridiculous at all. Just because a creative becomes successfull, he/she doesn't become public property, something to take a piss at if he/she doesn't deliver exactly what you want, when you want. It's just about basic human rights and decency.

Oh maybe I should rephrase - you do have the right to whine about a senior worker taking days off as much as you want under the idea of free speech. It just makes you seem kind of a dick.

Also, high ground reasoning? As someone who has worked 60-hour weeks in ongoing creative productions, saying that taking a days off once a month is pretty understandable thing, make it low-reasoning, since it comes from a low workers perspective?

How is @Ustegius fanboying though? :oh
That's what I'm curious about. I have yet to say a single thing about what I think about the current arcs content in itself. :oh

Everything is subject to criticism. Especially someone selling things to others. Stop trying to make this look like a bunch of meanies bullying a poor defenseless man. :oh I can‘t understand your mindset there at all.

I can't understand your mindset at all? People criticizing a man because he takes breaks (for health, family or research). You could actually call that bullying, if it got to Oda anyway. It's still people badmouthing a person for no valid reason.

>Writes about how Oda is some god you can‘t say anything bad about
>How and who is he fanboying though?

Oh boy
But he isn't writing about Oda like that at all?

That's how you're interpreting for some strange reason.
