I don't remember hxh vol. 35 ever get that high. Last time i checked it was almost to 1 mil. Is it possible they meant vol. 34?
It's the print number not sales, btw even vol 34 didn't reach 1.5M I think.

Is it true that Death Note sold more than One Piece during its serialization? I mean, per volume.
The only evidence is here
https://myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=1372822
Series Sales
*1 DEATH NOTE (12 Vols) [Takeshi Obata]
*2 Nodame Cantabile (Vol.1~Vol.16) [Tomoko Ninomiya]
*3 ONE PIECE (Vol.1~Vol.44) [Eiichiro Oda]
*4 MAJOR (Vol.1~Vol.61) [Takuya Mitsuda]
*5 BLEACH (Vol.1~Vol.25) [Kubotite]
*6 NARUTO (Vol.1~Vol.36) [Masashi Kishimoto]
*7 NANA (Vol.1~16) [Ai Yazawa]
*8 Gintama (Vol.1~Vol.16) [Hideaki Sorachi]
*9 Eyeshield 21 (Vol.1~Vol.22) [Yusuke Murata]
10 Honey and Clover (10 Vols) [Umina Chiko]
Volume Sales
001. Death Note #10 (Takeshi Obata y Tsugumi Ooba)
002. Death Note #11 (Takeshi Obata y Tsugumi Ooba)
003. Nana #15 (Ai Yazawa)
004. Death Note #12 (Takeshi Obata y Tsugumi Ooba)
005. Nana #16 (Ai Yazawa)
006. One Piece #41 (Eiichiro Oda)
007. One Piece #42 (Eiichiro Oda)
008. One Piece #43 (Eiichiro Oda)
009. One Piece #44 (Eiichiro Oda)
010. Nodame Cantabile #14 (Tomoko Ninomiya)
But there's no solid numbers for how much it sold since this was two years before Oricon gave them out.

I had no idea Bleach volumes during it's peak outsold Naruto volumes.

Also, lets not forget that this was before One Piece hit its new peak of 4 million. It's still pretty impressive of DN to do that.

How were Toriko volume sales in its time, with that violent super pushing from Shueisha?

Toriko would've been better off had they not given the anime a super push. The boost didn't last long and sales dropped in 2012 after reaching a peak of 487k with volume 18.

So Build King IS going to turn into a series if the oneshot is popular?

Oh man, I'm officially hyped. I hope to God Japan likes it.

There's a good chance it'll be popular. The only 2 series he did in the magazine were huge hits, Takeshi & Toriko so they'd be more than happy to have him back. His previous one shots were well received, i.e. Memories with Oda-san (being praised by the Jump editors) & Chingiri (admittedly dont have concrete proof but I remember it was received quite well on twitter & even creator, ONE tweeting about it).

I wonder how he'll make it a battle shonen. Mechs? Fortnite? It's an architectural battle shonen so there's a lot you can do with it. He needs to change the hair color of the MC gives me Asta vibes lmao.

I was thinking it was more like they're judged based on the complexity of the stuff they build. I guess he could make it actual battles, but I'm not sure how that would work.

Shimabu is way more creative than I am, so I have faith with whatever approach he decides to go with.

Well, Sharkbait is not wrong. But maybe the movie will make BnhA have a boost just like Strong World did to OP.

That's just wishful thinking. Wasn't the boost contributed to both the movie AND the Marineford War arc? I think that was just perfect timing.

But we will have both the movie and the best part of BnHa, All Might vs ***.

Its almost the same situation.

I think the strong world effect is possible for MHA, obviously on a smaller scale since it has S3 running along side. This may be MHA's only chance to surpass Haikyuu!! or come close, another wishful thinking but it's exciting to think about haha.

Has a movie offered a massive boost to a series? Excluding OP ofc.

MHA is an interesting case because the series is still on the rise and its second season actually gave it a boost unlike most. Its up in the air. I can see it getting a small boost, but I can also see it getting closer to the million side of things since they seem to be doing a pretty good job with promotion and the movie looks like it will reveal stuff thats worth watching and could also bring in new fans. It’ll be interesting anyway.

Build King is the saviour we deserve.

Some volume dates I don't believe have been posted yet that were reported at the end of recent volumes: Haikyuu!! #32 and Dr. Stone #6 on July 4th, and Haikyuu!! #33 on August 3rd!

I'm surprised to see how even freaking Boruto anime is getting more love than Black Clover.

Being Black Clover truly is suffering. Hell, anime can be crap, but is still better than Boruto anime lol
