Sales will explode? Yeah, it's ametalk but HxH is already massively popular as it is so I'm curious on what boost it got.
Keep in mind that the nature of that episode was different. That was more of an overall "these are my favourite manga" type of episode with the comedians whereas this is a whole 1 hour segment dedicated just to HxH. That said, I don't know if we can expect an explosion like with kingdom. There's a huge difference in name recognition between when kingdom was the subject and when HxH is the subject. JoJo was also given a whole 1 hr segment back in 2012 and that may have helped but there was no sales explosion like with kingdom though there was some growth.
In 2010 One Piece had a new boost because of the movie. Considering that the title was already very popular, I believe that the boost was due to the new generation that still didn't know the series. Does HxH (which debuted one year after OP) have no chance of the same thing happening? Or has the second adaptation already caught the generation that was born in the early 2000s?
Yeah that's what I mean a 1 hr special and you beat me to it. I just found out that JoJo got one.
Here's the thing, Strong World had a full year of hype behind it and it was highly anticipated even amongst people who have not read the manga so it was a build up that paid off greatly due to its marketing campaign. The 2011 anime already gave the franchise a second life sort to speak with a boost and two movies as well as a slew of new merchandise so all the new generation who got into HxH recently already did at some point thanks to the anime and this ametalk episode has come out of nowhere so whether it causes a boost to the same magnitude as Kingdom is a bit of a stretch but we'll see.
Is it just me or does the MC from the new shogi series looks like a hybrid of the MCs from Kurogane and Mononofu (which is very ironic)
I prefer the VIZ one but both are fine lol
