I dont know why fans defend stuff that doesnt need defending. I cant imagine people have financial investments in Shueisha or are seated members on the board of directors.

Just google and i'm slightly confused. What the biggest difference between homage and blatanly tracing? Can you trace something and say it's a homage even though that means you are lying? Some examples would be great too thanks.

This is the tracing people are talking about currently:

I'm pretty sure tracing is putting your paper directly over the other person's drawing while paying homage is just mimicking their style or a famous pose while either looking at their page for reference or just going by memory.

I believe in Toyotaro’s case he actually digitally traced Captain America(see example below)
When he tried defending himself on twitter and show that he did change the position of the hand. But I believe he straight up admitted that he changed it.
Will try to find the screenshot, because he deleted the post after that started getting flack too

Kimetsu has grown quite well. Its able to do 164k in around 2 months. Also the gap between Heroaca and Haikyuu has been closed to 57k. Heroaca might catch up by the end of the year if everything goes well, though its still a way off from peak Haikyuu.

It hurts me now to see Sumou that low. This match against Oodenta is just starting to heat up as well.

Does this from Hunter x Hunter counts as tracing too?

300K!!!! anime worked confirmed.

Neverland is becoming impressive, if the anime resonates well, it could now pass older series of HeroAca calibur.

Yep. I don't even think the fanbase defends him for that rather they'll like to forget it ever happened.

Yes, although the difference here is the tracing of artwork and the tracing of a photo.
Still tracing though. The tracing of others' artwork is looked more down upon. But I don't think this should be entirely excused either.
But in my opinion, it's less of a big deal.

Do you guys remember that case where Yuki Suetsugu plagiarised art from Slam Dunk and REAL in Eden no Hana??

And so in the same year Takehiko Inoue (Slam Dunk author) was accused of having copied NBA photographs for use in Slam Dunk.

More here: http://www.geocities.jp/slamdunk_trace/

And the Nick Simmons' Incarnate with Bleach??

Kentaro Takekuma (editor and author of the "Even a Monkey can Draw Manga") says that tracing is something so common and inevitable in the Japanese comics market that if we ban the action completely and punish the existing cases, there will be no more successful authors.

Crazy how different the US and Japan is. In the US tracing would potentially ruin a comic artist

As long as you give credit to the artist I don't see the issue. If you're passing the tracing off as your own than there's an issue

Isn't Takehiko Inoue's case more so referencing. I mean, they say art imitates life. I agree with Asum0, though. As long as you credit or pay homage to the source or artist, I don't see what the problem is.

This is what tracing looks like. (Digital has made it easier to rotate stuff, and make more difficult to catch, but still the same thing).

While for example, Horikoshi's super hero comic themed covers is what you'd call a homage. As it is obviously referencing and paying homage to this other artwork, in pose and composition, but it is not the same, and is entirely its own artwork.

if you look good, all the mangakas surely use a model, I do not see what is problem especially when the model is a photo. you have no right to make any judgment to them.
