Hmm I'm thinking that after the loss of the magical power there was no reason for the other clans to fight among each other. It's not clear, but it could be that the power was lost during the war. But yeah it mostly became the Goddesses vs the Demons, with each part of the conflict having their own allies.
The magical power is not lost, we know exactly where it is. If anything the last chapter is about demons specifically retrieving that power. Or did you mean something else?

For it to enter humans and nature something must have happened. According to the demons the power was just out there, so I'm guessing there was a source of some kind and after the war that source was destroyed and all the magic that it held was dispersed in nature and entered plants and humans alike, but that's just a theory.

Not necessarily. I mean, the demons seem to kinda have expected the magical power in the land to replenish their powers. It does not seem like there is a specific process to get the power. Maybe its simply the amount of humans around... They took the power in just being there and multiplying.

I don't know it seems kinda odd, suddenly the power was absorbed like that, me thinks it has to do with the war and how the power was split or something.

I don't think the power was suddenly absorbed.... Isn't the implication that this happened over time? Splitting the power would imply that each clan got a share of the power they could benefit from. However the goddess clan is gone and assuming the truth was told by the guys ban met they don't even have physical bodies because of their lack of power. And then there is the consideration that the fairies and giants have been diminished in numbers and power. While in turn presumably thanks to the power humans were the only ones that multiplied and prospered.

Yeah it could happen like you said, we simply don't have enough information to conclude anything. But I think it would be interesting if the power dispered because of something specific, like the destruction resulting from the war, because I bet that it resulted in a lot of destruction and casualties, for all the clans, but mostly the demons and the Goddesses.

About the casualties... it actually does not seem like the demons suffered any. Its not like there are 7 out of 10 commandments, the 10 commandments are alive. I guess red or silver demons could have been defeated but even an army of those is at best a minor loss. Basically with the ten commandments being alive the vast majority of the power the demons had is potentially intact.

Maybe but there's prolly other humanoid demons like Mel, and they don't necessarily have to be part of the ten commandments which are the elite force. Unless Mel was also part of the ten commandments.

We don't know much about the Demons, it might not be their true appearances, remember Meliodas's shadow? Some of them look more like monsters than the others, giant with four arms, tentacle monster etc.

Could be or Nakaba changed his mind about their appearance, just like he changed his mind about some stuff.

We know that Gowther's action will lead to the end of the war somehow. Since he died from it and we know the war started because of the overflowing Magic Power, I think he might have used his life force along with some Invasion technique like Jack or Hijack to forcefully spread it all over Britannia. After this things calmed down but not the conflict between Demons and Goddesses, and they used their spell to seal the DK and the Ten Commandments.

I personally think Mel has been pretty lenient so far. Mel has

1.Not killed them right off the bat,
2. Protected Elizabeth and even respected her wish to leave,
3. Was going to spare Arthur,
4. Has something that would actually work, with the only cost being his emotions and the end of their relationship.

Honestly if Elizabeth and Ludo allowed Mel to carry on, this would've most likely occurred:
1. Mel becomes DK
2. Breaks the curse of eternal misery and death
3.Goes back to the demon world and reigns for the duration of his life ending their relationship

Elizabeth has not offered a single solution to breaking the curse to my knowledge. If she's successful in her attempts then the dreadful curse will just continue and her death would be ensured. I'd be fine with her doing all of this if she actually brought a solution to the table, but alas, she doesn't. Instead they justify the war by claiming they're going to "save Mel" which was Merlin's own words. So they're going to save Mel, by allowing him to continue witnessing the death of his lover for another 100 times? 200? 1000?

I always agreed with this but now Nakaba showed Meliodas's emotions/soul suffering alone in the purgatory; which means that even if he becomes the DK and breaks the curse, there's a part of him that will always be suffering there. So now I finally somewhat understand what the SDS means with "saving" him.
At first I wanted him to just become the DK and the rest would stay still until him breaks the curse but now? Nakaba showed it in the latest chapters and I don't think it's so simple as it seems.

Well true, but if they were to save him it'd just continue that painful cycle. He'd continue to suffer just as much, if not more, than he did in Purgatory. Personally allowing Mel to break the curse, then finding a way to get his emotions back would be a better plan since they'd be effectively using DK Mel to solve one of 2 major issues.

This is incorrect. Meliodas never implied that he was respectful of Elizabeth's wishes, in fact, it seemed to be the opposite.

Has something that would actually work, with the only cost being his emotions and the end of their relationship.
But that ''something'' just ends up replacing the major issue he just solved, with another one.

Sure, Elizabeth hasn't presented a solution that is capable of breaking the curses of Eternal Life and Perpetual Reincarnation, but at the same time, Meliodas solution isn't exactly fool-proof either.

Meliodas plan to become the Demon King, whilst capable of solving the issue of the curses, only presents another issue to our main characters and to himself. Sure, if he breaks the curses that is a great achievement on his part, but then he is presumably tied into the position of the Demon King for the rest of his existence, which will only cause future pain to both Elizabeth and everyone who was friendly with him. And let's not forget that, Meliodas originally deserted the position as the confirmed heir to the throne to his father 3000 years ago, and then ended up crying in front of Elizabeth about not becoming the ''guy'' he used to be (which is the current Meliodas). So it's confirmed that he never actually wanted to become Demon King out of personal obligation, but only because of his desire towards fulfilling his promise to Elizabeth during her first reincarnation. So Elizabeth commenting that she's attempting to ''save'' Meliodas rather than stop him is because she is fully aware of how painful or uncomfortable the position of the Demon King is to Meliodas.

Additionally, what gives Meliodas the right to overlook Elizabeth's wishes when it comes to the curse? She blankly said to Meliodas that she didn't want him to remove the curses if it mean't their relationship will end. Yet he ignores everything she wants in order to fulfil a promise that has no more weight anymore, since she basically got rid of it in their conversation. Some say he has the right to because the curses make both of them suffer. But if she says to him that she would rather die and reincarnation constantly rather than lose him, why does he have the right to go against that very wish?

Plus, Meliodas plan isn't 100% effective either, and I personally believe it's not going to happen for a few reasons:

A) I don't think Meliodas is going to become Demon King, because it's practically impossible to then save him when he's a literal God. It's already incredibly difficult to deal with Assault Meliodas, so how will they save a God? And if this ends up happening, then I believe the Supreme Goddess may end up breaking the curse for personal benefit, but that's just my belief.

B) Once he becomes Demon King, he's locked in that very position, but what happens when it isn't enough to break the curses? Meliodas thinks you just need the power of the Gods to break the curse, but what happens when his father and the Supreme Goddess revealed that this isn't the only condition to release the curses? Well now he's stuffed in a position he never wanted, and couldn't even break the curses while at it, and tbh, I do think there is going to be additional conditions for the curses to be lifted because:

-The Demon King apparently doesn't care that his curse on Elizabeth is going to be lifted. Is this because he doesn't care about her as long as Meliodas becomes his successful heir, or is it because he knows Meliodas can never lift this, because for example, to fully lift the curse you also need his permission to do so? Meaning Meliodas can never lift the curse by himself, even after reaching God status.

-The Supreme Goddess has yet to make any sort of move in accordance to this whole situation. Why isn't she doing anything? Meliodas is about to ascend to God level and would be fully capable of threatening her, unless I imagine she was confident in herself, as she could always reclaim her distributed power, the four graces. But even then, Meliodas is threatening to lift the curse on her daughter, Elizabeth. And I imagine in any context that isn't something beneficial to her, because I imagine she had a specific intention of placing it on Elizabeth to begin with. The Demon King placed his curse on Meliodas to bring him back to his former self, so I doubt the SG just placed the curse on Elizabeth just for punishment, but rather for an alternative purpose: maybe to groom her into a better daughter or into an heir to the throne? Who knows?

Plus, would you rather become the Demon King and permanently end your relationship with Elizabeth, or stay with her under the conditions, in times of both pain and suffering? I'd rather choose the second option, since the former doesn't have any benefit.

Elizabeth and Meliodas plans are both selfish and heavily flawed, yet if I had to side with someone, it would be Elizabeth, because I agree that her plan would end up being the one which causes the least pain for the both of them. I'd rather be cursed for the rest of eternity, but still have happy times with my lover rather than be freed from the curse only to never see them again.

TL.DR - Meliodas plan isn't 100% going to work, and most likely isn't, and even if it does, it just switches one shit situation for another. Personally, I believe Meliodas isn't going to become Demon King and it may be the Supreme Goddess ending up releasing the curse for some personal benefit. Both Elizabeth and Meliodas plans are flawed and selfish, but if I had to side with someone, it would be Elizabeth because her situation seems less painful, to me at least.

I agree, but that's why now I'm contradicted on what's better for him now. His emotionless side doesn't care about it, but the Mel in purgatory literally started to cry when he came back to his senses, then after that he told Ban that he will become the DK, so maybe Nakaba is making a foreshadow that Mel will make to have the powers to break the curse AND his emotions.
Btw I don't think Elizabeth is completely wrong on what she's doing; I think she believes that Meliodas will still suffer in a different way. But I do think that she's letting the others take adventage of her decisions to be in the war.

Ah true perhaps I worded it wrong lol. I just meant he isnt exactly 'forceful'. In that way he's respectful. For example if you compare his actions vs Estarossa's actions, there is indeed a clear difference. He was the same way to the sins and Arthur. It show's that rather than displaying malice, his only real intention is to complete his objective in breaking the curse. He's well, honorable, I suppose.

But that ''something'' just ends up replacing the major issue he just solved, with another one.
Sure, but it does get the job done. It just requires a sacrifice on his part, and it's something Elizabeth isn't realizing. Sometimes we have to make hard decisions, to get things done. Not every problem can be solved with zero losses. Sure Mel will then become DK, and she'll never see him again, but she'd be alive, he will be alive, and the sins all would live knowing that Elizabeth and Mel suffer no longer(since emotionless Mel can't really suffer.) As for Mel's emotions I suppose he'd go back to wandering mindlessly in purgatory. But at the end of the day, those two wont have to share that eternal burden.

Sure, Elizabeth hasn't presented a solution that is capable of breaking the curses of Eternal Life and Perpetual Reincarnation, but at the same time, Meliodas solution isn't exactly fool-proof either.

Yea he'd be in an uncomfortable position, but as much as I love Mel, it's a sacrifice he'd have to make. The sins also will be heartbroken, but at least they'd know Mel was alive. And Elizabeth would be alive as well. Not constantly dying in front of those she love. Not constantly forgetting their faces every reincarnation. That right there, would be extreme pain.

She can very well do what she wishes to do, just as he can. They are both ignoring each other's wishes, but they're both grown adults so they can each do as they wish. Right or wrong depends on perspective. At the end of the day however, he's watched her die an umpteen amount of times, regardless of what she'd rather do, he clearly doesn't want it. The curse is a 2-person affliction, and if one person has had enough, then he has all the right to act on it. I mean its looking like Elizabeth would rather the man watch her die another 200 times before he's able to do anything about it. That has a psychological effect on someone, to the point where just thinking about Elizabeth made him lose his mind and go into Assault mode. The dude can't take another death, much less 100 or 200.

Plus, Meliodas plan isn't 100% effective either, and I personally believe it's not going to happen for a few reasons:

A) I don't think Meliodas is going to become Demon King, because it's practically impossible to then save him when he's a literal God. A) Depends. They're surely willing to defy the current God in order to save Mel. Hell they weren't even aware that Mel's soul was not held by the DK personally and yet still agreed on the rescue mission. It'd be the same here, only difference is, this God will be the recipient of that soul. Perhaps they'd have a plan, or perhaps it'll never work. If it does happen however the SD will definitely make an introduction.

B)Well for now we're all assuming that power is the requirement to break it, if it's not then they have far more issues to worry about, but honestly, it's still their best shot as far as the sins are concerned regarding breaking the curse.

I don't think the DK particular cares because Mel is already on track to succeed him. If he broke Elizabeth's curse, it wouldnt change the fact that they'd never be able to interact due to Mel being restricted to purgatory. It's a win/win for the DK at this point.

The SD could be monitoring things, it's possible she doesn't deem it really necessary to intervene. I think she's just waiting for it all to play out personally.

Plus, would you rather become the Demon King and permanently end your relationship with Elizabeth, or stay with her under the conditions, in times of both pain and suffering? I'd rather choose the second option, since the former doesn't have any benefit.
I'd just become DK personally. Witnessing your lover's death for eternity over taking a restricting position as a Diety? Regardless of the job, i'd rather end such a miserable hellish curse. I mean you have to remember, for the majority of those lives, Elizabeth is blissfully unaware of Mel. While Mel not only remembers, he's stuck caring for her while she remembers not a thing about him. Then when she does inevitably remember all of those sweet happy moments between them, she gruesomely dies before his very eyes. That's fucking hell. Mel has had it worst by far imo.

That's fair, and I would agree with your side if I was on Elizabeth's end of the curse. Because i'd live a good couple of years, then I die, return a bit, live blissfully unaware of the torture i'm causing my partner, gain my memories for 3 days, spend those last days happily, then rinse and repeat. Now of course Elizabeth has had some suffering on her part, but she's had the sweet bliss of ignorance as comfort. Mel has had to live every single day of those 3,000 years, in agony. I do believe Mel won't be DK for long if at all however, since shounen's typically don't go that route for long.

(It's cool lol, these chapters haven't been rich in much discussion and mods blocked the fun in the main one so I feel ya)

Seems that might be the way Nakaba takes it. Regaining control of his power, breaking the curse, then removing the power from himself and retiring(or dying). I don't blame Elizabeth though, she really doesnt wanna lose him forever and I cant blame her, but so far there hasn't been an alternative.

He still on the most part didn't allow Elizabeth to leave. Why else take her against her will from the sins, lock her in a bedroom and tell her to stop being foolish? If she didn't slap him and escaped, he would've probably locked her away or kept her 100% supervision.

So while he wasn't on the extreme side of how Estarossa does things, he still is ignoring what she wants.

Meliodas becoming Demon King and releasing the curse has more consequences than benefits.

Yes, he gets rid of the curse, but at the same time he's just implementing a shit situation that can never be removed.

Elizabeth's alive, fantastic, But with Meliodas permanently gone, Elizabeth isn't exactly going to be happy, and she admitted herself she'd rather be under the curse than lose him. So we will have a permanent unhappy Elizabeth and Sins, in exchange for Elizabeth not dying and being reincarnated?

And even in reincarnation, there are benefits. Sure, her dying is a massive shit situation, but there's always the promise of her coming back to you at every life time, forming new bonds and love - there are still happy moments under the curse, unlike the Meliodas situation, where there isn't any, except for Elizabeth's death not happening.

If it's a 2-person affliction than neither Elizabeth or Meliodas have the right then to individually act on behalf of their curses.

So realistically, both of them are in the wrong, since they're being selfish and not considering each other's feelings.

But the current God is inactive and probably nerfed.

Saving Meliodas when he's a literal God is impossible... unless of course you do the same thing, which is going to be impossible unless someone goes along the same route as Meliodas. Which in turn puts Elizabeth in a very difficult position. If her curse is removed, and Meliodas is a God, what else can she do besides do the same as him? Meaning take the Four Graces, absorb them, and become the New Supreme Goddess herself and then have the power and potential to stop him. So not only does he fuck over everybody around him for his own seflish agenda, he's actually forcing Elizabeth to go down a route in order to save him, because we all know she won't stop trying (which he should know).

B)Well for now we're all assuming that power is the requirement to break it, if it's not then they have far more issues to worry about, but honestly, it's still their best shot as far as the sins are concerned regarding breaking the curse.
Sure, it's their best shot, but I still wonder why Meliodas or Elizabeth didn't consider the possibility of making an agreement with their parents in order to release the curses. I'm sure whatever circumstance they had to agree to, would be better than ending their relationship permanently.

I don't think the DK particular cares because Mel is already on track to succeed him. If he broke Elizabeth's curse, it wouldnt change the fact that they'd never be able to interact due to Mel being restricted to purgatory. It's a win/win for the DK at this point.
It's a win/win for the DK, but a lose/lose for the SG, which makes me wonder why she hasn't done anything at the moment.

The SD could be monitoring things, it's possible she doesn't deem it really necessary to intervene. I think she's just waiting for it all to play out personally.
Possible, but at the same time, the deadline of Elizabeth's life is coming close, so I'm expecting her to do something.

Sure, she's blissfully unaware, but at the same time it's not like she isn't suffering during the 3 day period, which I would argue she's suffering more actually.

Made an entire post on the Elizabeth vs Meliodas curse if you want to see my full opinion on it, explaining it here is just copy and past (xd) (https://mangahelpers.com/forum/threads/perpetual-reincarnation-or-eternal-life.3010606/)

True, you're right in that he isn't exactly the world's friendliest host. But neither the worst. Granted i'm not too sure he would've physically restrained her if she tried to leave. It's more like he was giving her choices but at the same time pushing his choice as the better option. After all he took the hit, and didnt rush out after her slaughtering everything in his path to find her. Was more of a "fine whatever do what you want, im still becoming DK tho".

After his death at the hands of the ten commandments, things moved on. Sure they were sad, and they remembered him from time to time, but life went on. Elizabeth didn't kill herself, nor did she cry 24/7. Sure she was struggling inside but nonetheless, that's part of grief. Under that curse, those happy moments are left shadowed by the deep realization that the worst pain they've ever felt, is underway. And will continue to be underway, for eternity. So even though Mel won't be around, like any loss, it's a deep pain that will eventually subside. However if the curse was left as is, this very pain that Mel carries around, the very pain that would be inflicted upon the sins, (whom which 99% can live for thousands of years), will continue for centuries upon centuries.

Indeed, they are just doing what they feel is best for themselves. Mel wants to stop seeing her die for another 106 times, and Elizabeth wants her man back to who he used to be. Personally I think Mel has more of a justification but that's subjective.

Well inactive on a grand scale sure, but not in Purgatory. Especially not as far as the sins are concerned. They had no clue whether he was nerfed or not when they decided on Mel's rescue mission, and they hardheartedly believed that the DK was personally guarding Mel. They were literally willing to let Ban face down the DK in all his glory. I imagine they'd have the same conviction. Granted they'd probably fail, but back to my previous point on having to make sacrifices lol. He no longer bares that gruesome pain for eternity, and Elizabeth gets to live and not have the sins deal with her death over and over. Not to mention forgetting them. Sure she'll try to save him, but it'd be pointless and hopefully she'd move on as she sort of did after his death against the TC. Well I think she did, i'll have to re-read those chapters. Think she believed he'd return or something, which I guess she used hope to cope with the pain. In any case she was dealing with it in her own way.

Sure, it's their best shot, but I still wonder why Meliodas or Elizabeth didn't consider the possibility of making an agreement with their parents in order to release the curses. I'm sure whatever circumstance they had to agree to, would be better than ending their relationship permanently.
Doubt it, those gods are selfish dicks lol

It's a win/win for the DK, but a lose/lose for the SG, which makes me wonder why she hasn't done anything at the moment.
Who knows, perhaps she's already planning and we don't know. Perhaps she's the one behind the goddesses revival. I doubt she's completely inactive though.

Possible, but at the same time, the deadline of Elizabeth's life is coming close, so I'm expecting her to do something.
I'd be very happy if she has a plan that can both save her and Mel. Such a happy ending is ideal. But if it turns out she's just blindly going in with the hopes of just saving Mel and shrugging off the curse as a sort of "Well, we'll deal with that later" then i'll always side with Mel's plan as it actually brings results.

Sure, she's blissfully unaware, but at the same time it's not like she isn't suffering during the 3 day period, which I would argue she's suffering more actually.

It was an interesting read. Personally I think the fact that he's already so hard to kill, is part of why it's so tough on him. While Elizabeth recollects all of her memories in those 3 days, (some of course most likely terrible memories), he has had 3,000 years to think of ways to break the curse only to no avail. That pressure that you mentioned, is nothing minor. Knowing your loved one will continue dying, and you'll continue witnessing it for eternity, while also knowing that you, and ONLY you, can do something about that, but at the same time can't, (because breaking the 10c's seal means the literal apocalypse so you have to find another alternative) is absolute hell. Not to mention knowing that the only other solution is becoming "that guy' and taking it by force, but knowing that becoming 'that guy' will turn you into an absolute monster. A monster whom would harbor no love for Elizabeth. The same Elizabeth he'd spent 3000 years watching over, and watching her die, only to no longer love her? All of that, to throw away his feelings? Those things are what went through his mind. It's why he broke down, and it's why he lost his mind and went into Assault Mode. I'm sorry but Elizabeth doesn't even compare.
