Riza is a woman in her mid-to-late twenties. She is muscular and curvaceous build. She has blonde hair that reaches the middle of her back and brown eyes. Riza has broad shoulders from her military training and flared hips appropriate for her age. While she is known to wear her hair down,

on the job Riza wears it up in the back with a clip barrette in a style that resembles a bird tail. Her bangs fall in a hawk's wing pattern from right to left, occasionally partially obscuring her left eye.

Although she had worn her hair short in her youth and in Ishval,

she began letting it grow out in 1910 after talking with Winry Rockbell. Each of her ears is pierced with a silver stud. She usually wears a black, short-sleeved turtleneck under her military uniform and often while in casual dress as well. She is mostly seen in long skirts and boots. She also has a large tattoo

that covers most of her back with large parts of it completely obscured by burned scars. She always wears fitted clothing to hide the tattoo.

Pᴇʀsᴏɴᴀʟɪᴛʏ

Riza is a quiet, collected woman, with a serious but courteous demeanor. She is viewed by her peers as the model of a perfect soldier. She is strictly disciplined, extremely rational, rarely relaxes when on the job, is usually tasked with keeping her colleagues on track. Though from the outside she might seem strict and even a little mean, she is not as cold and distant as people may think.

Those close to her know that there is more to her than her no-nonsense attitude. Beneath her professional aura is a kind soul who understands the difficulty of carrying a heavy burden.

Riza's softer side tends to make itself known through her interactions with younger characters, like the Elric brothers and Winry Rockbell. It isn't unusual to see her behaving sweetly toward her pet Black Hayate, but while in private. Since she is very disciplined, she takes her work seriously and is almost never seen “dropping formalities,” even with those who are most intimate to her. She’s not prone to public displays of affection, preferring to show her feelings through more subtle ways.

She also has some some humor. Growing up at her father's house, she probably experienced a sheltered sort of childhood. After joining the military, her experiences in Ishval destroyed her youthful idealism and transformed her into the nearly stoic, Lieutenant Hawkeye.

She emerges from the war with a tremendous will, strong enough to shoulder the heavy guilt she willingly bears. She uses this motivation to stand along side and support Mustang in the hopes that future generations will remain free of the horrors like in Ishval.

She doesn't speak unnecessarily or express her feelings often through words, but she reveals most of her thoughts through nonverbal communication, like with trademark sharp looks and rare, subtle smiles.

Her character shows a mix between a tortured woman looking for redemption and a resigned acceptance of past mistakes and their consequences.

Riza learns from Ishval to accept responsibilities for her actions herself, rather than placing the blame or the burden on another person.

She decides she must sacrifice her own happiness and comfort and continue to dirty her hands with blood as a soldier in order to bring peace to the people. Despite the emotional difficulties in facing her mistakes, she learns to school herself and her emotions as personal struggles, brushing off the concern of others, always bearing grief or physical pain with a stiff upper lip.

When she met Winry Rockbell, Riza said that she also doesn't like the military, because she is sometimes forced to kill. Riza seems to hold the belief that a gun is simply an object, by itself unable to cause pain or suffering without a person pulling the trigger. It is not her weapons that she dislikes, but the death that she causes by using them. Despite that, she seems to take weapons very seriously and is never seen taking out her gun when she doesn't mean to shoot it.

Aʙɪʟɪᴛɪᴇs

Aside from her secretarial job (keeping her subordinates in line, filling out paper work, ect.),

Rize is an expert sharpshooter and a firearms specialist.

Whether armed with a bolt-action rifle, sniper rifle, pistol or even two handguns at once, she is well known for never missing her mark.

(Which is where her she gets nickname, "Hawkeye"). As a true professional, Riza is able to disassemble, properly clean, and reassemble a standard issue firearm in record time. She rarely goes into battle with fewer than two loaded firearms on her person. Also, she is quite skilled in combat tactics and covert operations.

Thank you to everyone who voted Hancock in Round 1 I didn't go too much into detail into what makes her a good waifu back then, mostly because I didn't want to exhaust all my resources early on. I had touched on who Hancock is and her superficial wife qualities in my first two posts. So now im going to go a little in depth into what makes her a

a)She is loving

Which is an obvious enough point in its own right One of the most defining traits about Hancock is her undying love for the protagonist of the series, Monkey D. Luffy. She came to fall in love with him after seeing how big his heart is, in hiding her sister's mark from the rest of the Amazon Lily residents. Later on, in confidence, Luffy admitted to her that he doesn't look down on her for being a slave, instead that he hates the Celestial Dragons. Something which made her realize that unlike other men, he was different. Ultimately, she came to fall in love with him.

Ever since then, almost all her actions towards Luffy have been to display her affection for him.

Now im sure a good number of people would negatively frown upon this as obsession, it has to be noted that this is Hancock’s first time falling in love with someone. Seriously people, first loves anybody?

After the Marineford War Arc, she helped disguise Luffy and help him reunite with his friends back on Sabaody Archipelago. Actually, if im not mistaken, she disguised him in one of her cloaks Imagine your wife helping you dress up in the morning when its cold Or dressing you up before you're about to go out with friends

b) She is loyal

Consider this, Hancock is someone who works for the Royal Government, despite her hatred of all men. The trade off for her services is that the Amazon Lily Island would be kept safe and the government would never encroach upon it. Once she fell in love with Luffy, she decided to accompany him to Impel Down in order to have him save his brother, Ace. And all throughout the Marineford War, she fought to protect him, even from fellow Marines. Something that would otherwise mean her position in the government would be jeopardized.
She went as far as protecting him against the Pacifista which the World Government had designed to hunt down Pirates.

After the war, she hid Luffy on her island for 2 years while he trained to become stronger. She even made sure to spoil him with lots of food in order to make sure he had a quick recovery.

So boa vs Risa, both are caring and protective towards the one they love, both have been ravaged by their past, i personnaly think their past left some scars that might doesnt help them to get involved in a love story or a family life, one was a slave the other was involved in a mass extermination. Both are strong and considered as high ranked "military" in their respective work. boa is way "flashier" than the other , not necessary in the bad way, but suffered fom being ridiculed since she felt in love with luffy while Riza has been a constant character who benefits a great characterization, (Arakawa is awesome when it comes to female char, even if riza is not my fave (my all time fave is still Olivier )

I used to like boa's character bc she s getting an awesome charadesign and personnality and a great backstory, thats the boa i liked :

But i m diisappointed on how shes been treated in her last appearances, it seems to me the character has been ruined somehow, hope Oda will make shine her.

Vote for Riza, her character is better. Hancock nowadays has become Luffy-obsessed, whereas there's more to Hawkeye than Mustang. Look at how Riza communicates with Mustang and other people she knows, especially when they have to be hush-hush. She knows and understands. She even stopped Mustang from becoming a cold-blooded avenger by threatening to kill him!
