Finding the next ____ has been the mentality of the magazine for years man. One Piece got it, Bleach got it, Toriko got it, hell even Black Clover is getting it with Nakana blatantly stating that he wants it to be the next Naruto. That's why series like AssClass, MHA and Kimetsu are a dime a dozen since they caught on without people saying they're the next _____.Why does it need to be a replacement? Before Naruto, Bleach and One Piece people probably didn't think of a new manga as a replacement to whatever else ended. Jujutsu is it's own entity, not a replacement. People should stop doing this, at least in my opinion. If you think it's similar to some other manga, that's fine.
To add to that. Some people take the whole replacement idea too far and end up being disappointed that the "replacement" manga actually goes in a completely different direction that what it's "replacing". Then they complain because it's not the exact same thing.--- Double Post Merged, , Original Post Date: ---
MHA blew up off of a meme that was made in the west so idk about that oneFinding the next ____ has been the mentality of the magazine for years man. And that was after Naruto ended by that point the first volume had already came out had garnered praise and success and not once was it compared to Naruto until Hori's message and the fancomic. Jump never pushed it as a replacement to Naruto.MHA blew up off of a meme that was made in the west so idk about that one
I don't know about that, but if that's how you see things... MHA was definitely framed a lot as the next Naruto. When you say OP, Bleach and Toriko got it, what do you mean?Finding the next ____ has been the mentality of the magazine for years man. But the fans definitely constantly said it was the next Naruto. What difference does it make if it was only compared as the next Naruto after the first volume of BNHA came out? It was still a "replacement" in people's eyes. Not by the management.I don't know about that, but if that's how you see things... MHA was definitely framed a lot as the next Naruto. When you say OP, Bleach and Toriko got it, what do you mean?
Fans are always going to insinuate which series is a replacement for which it doesn't make then right. The fact remains that Jump never tried to push MHA as a replacement for Naruto as they did with Black Clover and the reason why it caught on had nothing to do with Naruto either same with Black Clover. There's always going to be similarities between titles as the years go on hence why Jump always tries to capitalize on it.But the fans definitely constantly said it was the next Naruto. Saiki is proof that you don't need fantastic art if you can make good jokes, which I assume is what Tanaka does aside from some action? The art for Tanaka is so bad
I was mostly referring to the people considering something a replacement. Even if something is promoted as the next whatever by the publisher, some people really take the idea too far, they believe it as a literal statement and I think that's what bothers me the most. It's fine to compare one manga to another one if someone believes they have similarities. It especially irks me when people just think of a manga as "a new ____" or a replacement for ____ and then they go on to complain that it isn't the exact same manga with a different skin on top.Not by the management.
OP and Toriko were billed as replacements for DB hence why they were consistently promoted alongside one another. Bleach was also shilled as a replacement for Saint Seita despite the popular outcry stating that it was for YYH.

It is very annoying no doubt because it gives people wrong precognitions of what the series is to many people hence why things get written off before they try it but it'll give attention to a series that would have been forgotten hence why author recommendations exist of course this will also give people the wrong idea that the author is recommending the series because its similar to his own work and not just because its good on its own (see Togashi recommending Kimetsu).I was mostly referring to the people considering something a replacement. It seems to be really hard to get rid of the chain of severe misinformation in the manga world. It is very annoying no doubt because it gives people wrong precognitions of what the series is to many people hence why things get written off before they try it but it'll give attention to a series that would have been forgotten hence why author recommendations exist of course this will also give people the wrong idea that the author is recommending the series because its similar to his own work and not just because its good on its own (see Togashi recommending Kimetsu).
The Togashi thing is especially funny because he also happens to be a huge fan of Naruto to point that he pretty much regrets not thinking of it before Kishi did. He just liked Kimetsu because it suits his tastes not because its similar to how he writes but of course some idiots are going to call it the next HxH based on that alone. But I digress it is a shitty thing to have a work being constantly compared to another. I guess that's how Fairy Tail fans felt when people kept calling it a One Piece ripoff. It seems to be really hard to get rid of the chain of severe misinformation in the manga world.

I disagree with Jujutsu Kaisens art. It's actually really neat. Jujutsu Kaisen - This took a while to get me invested but its the only one I look forward to of the bunch. Yeah like @Rica_Pitan said it is very derative and the art sucks but the writing is solid and is the first battle shounen in who knows when with an intricate power system. Glad to see that it caught on and found an audience even if I think that it isn't that great.--- Double Post Merged, , Original Post Date: ---
Act Age - This feels like a series that people only like because its different and not because its done well. Anyone familar with Glass Mask will feel right at home since it follows the same beats all too well. You can definitely tell that this is the author's first work because it looks incredibly amaterish but the character designs are really neat.
Momiji - Another outlier but at least it takes inspiration from the brillant 3 Gatsu Lion. I can see why its getting so little attention since unlike Hikaru no Go you have to actually be familiar wiith the subject matter which is outputting to a lot of readers. If it stays its due to editorial influence.
Noah Notes - From the get go the series inclusion here feels redundant with Dr. Stone still running. It feels like all everyone ever talk about is the gyaru girl, the Templars ruining everything and how much of a douche the author is. It'll be dead by the next round.
Ziga - This had a neat concept that cpuld have worked uf the writing was better. The only thing people got out of this was a monster waifu.
Boozebeats - The fall of this upset me a lot since it started out well but just....went nowhere fast. While it wasn't the worst if the lot it was definitely the most disappointing.
Sounds like you should start a YouTube channel for that.It seems to be really hard to get rid of the chain of severe misinformation in the manga world.
