It is not a matter of defending but of telling the truth.

Black Clover is a success, it will not be at the level of Hero or Neverland, but it fits perfectly in the average of Toriko or Reborn.

I didn't said that it wasn't a success. I even stated that the manga is one. lol After all, the manga was on the top 15 best-selling on the year.

The comparison is just to show that it's in a similar situation

I'm gonna have to correct you on this but Katekyo Hitman Reborn had a Huge presences at the exhibit ( which was very crowed ) and even has its own fan day as list here https://shonenjump-ten.com/vol3/fan.html

and that's not even going into the actual print numbers where Katekeyo Hitman Reborns is in the 30k zone along with Death note Black Clover is in the 5k zone as of right now.

Heroaca is actually above Reborn both in first printing and current average. Reborn hit 15 million at volume 20 whereas Heroaca hit 15 million at volume 18/19. Even if you say that's the series total, neither Smash, nor Vigilantes sell nowhere near close to 100k so I'd say its quite close to 15 almost just with Heroaca. Its already crossed it just with Oricon so that number is weird to begin with but that's beside the point.

This of course doesn't help the BC point.

I too believe a top 5 is definitely set in stone for Slam Dunk, which is definitely unfair to an extent as Inoue hasn't put out any new work or content in years and he suddenly decides to want to draw the guys from Shohoku and here we are.

Your Not wrong about Heroca its 100% has a Mega Presence at the exhibit compared to the other stuff hence why Jump give it its own Fan day along with Naruto,Reborn, Gintama Haikyuu and D gray man for the second half.

Being Amano means nothing seeing as eldlive bombed even after it got an anime. At this point, its better to assume that simply being from a veteran doesn't mean it'll stick around. They might give Kishimoto and maybe Shimabukuro some long rope but even then, there's no guarantee that their new works, assuming they'll start serializations again, will sell. There's a limit to how much you can push a series and have it sell with the Author's name. Eventually, it'll be judged on its own merits.
