What is your least favorite area of the story? It could be something pertaining to a character's storyline, or even a whole arc of the series.
Mine is definitely the King and Helbram plotline. In the beginning it was okay, and it was refreshing to see King's relationship to another fairy explored. But once he became a Holy Knight :fail Seriously though, I will never understand why King had problems killing Helbram a third time when the second time it was him who ended his life.

For me, it’s the mael plotline. Personally, I was never a fan of estarossa being mael. This character was so much better when he was estarossa but now I’m sick of him. I’ve haven’t had NEARLY as much of a problem with how the commandments were treated like other people do.

All of a sudden he gained control over three commandments when not long ago, he was being rejected by them? Bullshit. I also don’t like how much plot armor this guy has, even when he was estarossa. Whenever he was on the verge of losing/dying, one of the good guys just so happen to fuck up or someone (zeldris) manages to save him from danger.

I really fucking hope this guy gets stopped here.

Have to agree with @Gallon - the second major arc was the weakest for me, especially between chapters 100 to just before Meliodas battles the Kings at the fighting festival.

Ban in Purgatory

By far the most boring arc of the manga
Would've been the most boring if the Demon King had not appeared and fodderized everyone.

The Demon King fodderizing people? Saves any arc, :cheez

Droles test of Diane. To give proper detail I have to discuss Diane as a character.

Diane character arc is honestly nonexistent and Diane is least interesting of the sins. She doesn't really have a plot of her own and is more of macguffin for king, her personalty seems dull compared to every other major female character, we never really got a good reason for her aversion to fighting and where it came from. (every other character traits makes sense or was explored, Meliodas seeming jovial personalty is primarily a mask to hide his pain and wish for death, ban being savage is due to his upbringing and his eat before eaten personalty but also why he can be nice in certain moments, gowthers complete lack of emotions, Merlins front of confidence hiding her pain of causing Beluins destruction due to her own actions, Kings apathetic personalty hiding his dutiful true self after losing everything.) Diane ..... what is she? Why does she believe in what she believes in, what are those ideals.

If it had to be a specific scene that highlights my issues with how Diane is written. It was when she choose to runaway from Zeldris in droles body. A decent moral and highlight of the giants clans cultural weakness.... except running away doesn't make munch sens eof a options in context. Drole was beaten and on the ground, there was no way to get up without Zeldris decapitating Drole, Running just didn't seem like it was a option at the time and Drole really only have two choices. Having Diane choose a third options that really wasn't or couldn't have been available felt like a cheap way of giving Diane a character strength over drole by a contrived that wasn't there. This was especially bad compared to Kings test of sparring Rou as Gloxinia since that actually did display growth on the part of King to understand how not everything is as it seems at a first glance. Drole test and Diane action with it failed because Diane was developed enough for her to have a barrier to overcome. Diane and the Giant clan as a whole both suffer from the same problem. They are the least developed of the main characters and races.

Most of the second major arc, considering the way the Ten Commandments were handled. That's my only complaint about this series.

These.

As well as:
  • Ban's "betrayal" during the Kingdom Invasion arc.
  • The pacing of this section of the story.
  • The general "Mel is awesome and infallible" thing the characters tend to believe.

I know it's an unpopular opinion, but I never liked the Banlaine subplots.
They became repetitive and almost forced with the time, always with the conflict of Elaine's resurrection, Ban's character is always about the same thing, I didn't even like his drama of wanting to kill Meliodas. Even Meliodas made Ban and Elaine's problem look like nothing compared to his curse, but Ban keeps talking about resurrecting Elaine even in Purgatory and it's starting to be tiresome. It's like the couple never develops and still the plot is full of their conflicts.

Lol.

I like you how say that like it’s no big deal.

“I just dislike chapters 101-250.”

“Other than that’s it great!!!”

I mean you’re right the whole 10C arc sucked, but that’s a pretty big complaint.

The Diane memory loss subplot was unecessary and just created to keep her and King apart for a little longer. Really contributed massively to her being the least liked sin nowadays.

Merlin was incapacitated for 80 more chapters, despite not even being in the last arc, and she shows up with an asspull to fight for real for the first time.

All of the 10C have extreme lack of characterization. We spent no time on any of them, and none of their defeats or deaths feel like they mean anything. Because we don’t really know them, and they’ve accomplished nothing the whole manga, and haven’t been threatening since when they first met Galan.

The commandments decree’s are a wasted idea. Didn’t even use them.

Mel dying for shock value was stupid, and a waste of time when he revived him 2 chapters later. He could have at least had the sins grow on their own and step up to save the land in his absence. But nope. Britannia is doomed wthout everyone’s favorite midget to save the day.

All of the sins were useless for most of the arc. Mel and Escanor did everything.

Dolor and Gloxinia have no relationship with King and Diane. Didn’t even really train them. They just delivered exposition to the reader under the guise of training them. Massive missed opportunity.

I can’t even remember the last time Ban did something relevant. He literally does nothing except whine about when Elaine might die for 100+ chapters at this point.

Gowther being a hidden 10C member was hype for all of two seconds until we realized Nakaba wasn’t really going to do anything with it. Just flashback, a speech from Diane and King on Love, and his story is resolved.

Zeldris is the brother of the main character and has basically done nothing the whole manga despite being in it for 150 chapters at this point.

It’s like he subverted every Standard shonen battle manga story trope you’d expect to occur when battling the elite group of 10. Only the manga suffered for it, instead of keeping it interesting. The whole arc sucked.

Except Escanor.

Escanor is amazing.

My least favorite would be Ban's adventure in the purgatory. It could've been interesting if it was timed earlier.

And also, Ban's character as a whole. He's uninteresting and his magic is but a wasted potential. The only thing I find interesting in the bit is his backstory as a child (not the Elaine bs)

I like how you stretch the second arc for an additional 50 chapters. It's more like 135 - 196 with the Ten Commandments being handled poorly, but there are lots of good chapters in that range.

Don't put words into my mouth, I never said it sucked, you just wanted to interpret it that way. It is, however, my least favourite part of the series. I still liked many things about it.

The arc very clearly ends when Zeldris says the group is defeated, Chandler and Cusack are introduced to replace them, and the demon king reveals he wants Mel
to be the demon king, which sent the current events of the manga into motion. All of that was the same chapter.

That was like chapter 230 something, and it was very obviously called a new threat for a reason. I rounded up a bit because I don’t remember the exact number. You’re nowhere remotely in the ballpark.

The arc officially started with 101. If you actually only dislike a third of it get your numbers right and say that, instead of over- exaggerating then.

It’s funny how you’re trying to shorten the length of the second arc so saying you don’t like it doesn’t sound as bad as it really does, like it isn’t most of the manga at this point.

If you dislike a third of it say a third, don’t change numbers around.

I was obviously talking about the portion of the series covered by the anime. Nobody thinks "chapter 235" when the defeat of the Ten Commandments is brought into topic, it's mainly 196. You know that, you're just nitpicking with formalities because you can.

The arc officially started with 101. If you actually only dislike a third of it get you’re numbers right and say that.
Oh, so if I say the second arc and its flow were not my favourites, I have to note which parts specifically? The flow was altered by the underwhelming defeat of the Ten Commandments, no matter how good the arc was prior to that or after it. I won't go "Uh... only chapter 185 kinda suuuucked, cuz uuuuuh.... Estarossa was trasheeeed, but 175-183 were good so I only dislike 1/10 of the chapters!!!"
No, the good chapters suffered from the below average ones and most of the arc ranked lower than the first or third arcs.

It’s funny how you’re trying to shorten the length of the second arc so saying you don’t like it doesn’t sound as bad as it really does, like it isn’t most of the manga at this point.
I'm trying to shorten the scope of bad storytelling, while you're trying to make it seem like I dislike all of it just to fit your argument. By the way, "least favourite" isn't synonymous with "dislike" or "hate", just so you know.

without a doubt for me it was the banleine subplots that made me feel too forced and repetitive, I just hope that one of them dies so that they can be finished once and for all.

I didn't dislike it, it's just that it affected the experience of the arc in general. The third, for example, is considerably more interesting, in my opinion. If the Ten Commandments had been handled better, the arc would've been amazing.

1.Diane's memory nonsense and her character as a whole.
2.The treatment most of the Commandments received.
