Some more from me-
How powerlevels were handled.
How the Giant and Fairy clan gets treated.
How everyone sucks up to Mel and Eli.
Can't agree with you more on Mel and Eli.

Everything being about the Demon Clan.
Humans being chumps in terms of PL
Fairies and Giants being fodder despite nice designs
Goddesses having only the Yon Daitenshi as their decent warriors
Still no info about the MoC and her scion

I mean, you suck up to Meliodas and I suck up to Elizabeth essentially.

Don't lie, we are such clingy fanboys :cheez
I don;t suck up to mel. Most of my theories would mean he;s a skeeze bag. (i'm Zeldris, demon clan, Ban, King not with Diane, gowther fanboy)

Let's see...

  • MELizabeth; I dislike how characters/the series bends over backwards to appease them and their plight. It's frankly tiresome and comes across as undeserved at lot of times, in my opinion. Character-wise, they're both the most interesting they've been since the series began, but they are still probably my least favorite of the protagonists.
  • Logic is for suckers; This one is definitely subjective, but a lot of the progression in this series appeals on emotion. There is nothing wrong with that per se, but a lot of times logic takes a backseat and, sometime, is even punished or portrayed as being in the wrong. A lot of my issues actually stem from this one.
  • Elaine; On a surface level, there is nothing wrong with Elaine's concept, but execution wise, she's pretty bad. She's practically a non-entity outside of Ban and when she does show up, she ranges from boring to seeming like a pretty terrible person, with her only redeeming feature being her love for Ban.Even then, despite being the first relationship in the series, it's actually the least developed one. I guess that's what happens when you write two people falling in love in a week's time. A shallow relationship is rewarded with shallow writing. Her power up made no sense whatsoever and was one of the worst chapters in the series.
  • Everything was Romance: Another subject one. Gerharde and Rou's forced parallel with Ban and Elaine made for another one of the worst chapters in the series. It was unnecessary and added nothing to either character. Oh wait, Rou is Oslo...no one cares or remembers. Monspiet and Derieri really didn't need to be in a relationship as nothing was done with it. Feels like Nakaba tossed in a romance for them to hide the fact that they didn't have much of anything going for them.
  • Ten Commandments, Zero Respect; These guys just suck ass. Galan, bless his old soul, gave us a banger of an introduction as he trashed the Sins with no trouble at all. But despite that and being hyped to hell and back, they have done nothing but suffer humiliating defeat after humiliating defeat. Nevermind that, despite being the longest running antagonists in the series, their development comes across as largely weak. Gloxinia and Dolor? Sacrificed to the alter of Mel and Elizabeth. Do you remember that they were friends? I forgot. Would've been nice if we'd actually seen that or developed it. Merascylla? Best girl, but decided to hold the Idiot Ball and fight the Sins in CQC despite her specialty literally being soul manipulation. Gray Road? Useless and a step stool for Merlin hype. Monspiet? Looked cool, but did nothing for the majority of his existence. Derireri? Sacrificed to the alter of Elizabeth. The only three who managed to keep some form of relevancy are/were Zeldris, Estarossa, and Fraudrin. Even then, Zeldris has mostly been background for a large part of the series, Estarossa held all the Ls in this series and to top it off, he wasn't even real, and Fraudrin because he set everything off. Ironically, despite his informal membership, he probably had the most satisfying arc out of the group. Not to mention their curses, which were propped up to be a big thing, barely got any use and were rendered ineffective by the majority of the Sins for one reason or another.
  • Uchiha Demon Clan Rulez; We got seven hearts. We got extra forms. We got the strongest spells. We can control darkness. We got magic on top of darkness. We get stronger at night. We can bring the night. We are just awesome. Everyone else can have our scraps when we're done. Fairies? Y'all got you're own realm? If we aren't in there, it doesn't matter. Get outta here. Giants? So what if y'all were the first of the races, y'all ain't got what we got. Get outta here. Human? More like Hum-ass, get outta here. Goddesses? Yeah, we're equal, but you know what? You still aren't demons. Get outta here.
There's more, but that's all I feel like writing.

Nailed it like the romans.
Elain doesn't have a character. Mel/Liz relationship is everything, people are bending over backwards just for their relationship even if there are bigger fish to fry or they really don't deserve it, The ten commandments got the FT treatment, I actually thought it would turn out that Monspiet was Derieri father and her bigger sister was actually her mom. Also inspite of the demons being my favorite, the other clans got no development by comparison. We've barely seen the celestial realm, while the underworld we know more details then any other realm combined minus the human world.

I’m not going to go so far as to say the TC got the FT treatment. In my mind, they are not as bad as villain groups in fairy tail, no fucking way. But they could e been treatment a little bit better.

And the goddesses, fairies, and giants could’ve been treated better but it’s whatever at this point.

By that I meant they were hyped then fodderized.

The constant shock or "everything is connected" reveals which are played off as more clever than they actually are:
  • Glox/Dolor/Mel/Elizabeth's friendship: Some friends, they couldn't even remember her face, magic or name until it was convenient for the plot.
  • Rou being Oslo's reincarnation.........very relevant.
  • The only holy knight we ever saw in Link being Jericho's brother.
  • The "Three Misfits" (these three grew up together? Who cares)
  • Vivian being Merlin's apprentice.....why was she never named and why was she even masked???

The list goes on

These.

As well as:
  • Ban's "betrayal" during the Kingdom Invasion arc.
  • The pacing of this section of the story.
  • The general "Mel is awesome and infallible" thing the characters tend to believe.
These, plus Elisabeth character.

Mine is Nakaba's treatment/portrayal of her female heroes. Her female characters have so much potential to be stronger and relevant to the storyline but they always get outshined by the male ones because machismo. All they serve now are objects for perversion, love interests of the male leads basically supporting role for males.

You can't say something like that without giving good examples.

Despite all the writing problems in the Manga I genuinely think female characters (except Elizabeth) are strong, no princess in distress, unique looking and behaving characters.
Diane even came in last chapter to help her lover and kick some ass despite the difference of power with Maelstarossa. Merlin is fucking strong and autonomous no matter the situation (except with Chandler I guess). Derriere was highlighted from past chapters when male archangels and sins failed, etc...

Diane is strong but her whole character pretty much ended up revolving around her love for King. Her whole “story arc”, if you can even call it that, was loving Meliodas, realizing she loved King, losing her memory, and remembering she loved King again and getting with him. That’s her whole character. He pretty much killed her character to the point where we can say she’s easily the sin people care the least about.

King still has other aspects to his character to the point that once upon a time he was the most popular sin. Diane has always been last among the sins.

Derrerie’s “character” pretty much entirely revolves around her love for Monspiet. I put character in quotes, because I’m not sure if you can even call it that. Wasn’t executed or presented well at all. They had some vague relationship where you could tell they meant a lot to one another. Mel oneshot them. They decided to live together in peace and then turn good randomly. Monspiet died. She died. The end.

Elaine is kinda strong at around 18K, but she isn’t even a character. She solely exists as a reason for Ban to fight, and have internal turmoil about. Literally no other point to her existence.

Elizabeth is just Mel’s girlfriend. Doesn’t even seem to have any importance to her own clan beyond being the SD’s daughter. All she does during confrontations is cry, call for Meliodas, say she’s going to do something but really not do anything, and heal occasionally.

Mera is just generic bad guy number 12, like grayroad.

The only one I think is a well written female is Merlin. She doesn’t cry for others to come rescue her, can handle herself in battle, doesn’t need saving, isn’t obsessed about love, and is mostly confident when confronting most situations.

At least as long as the situation doesn’t involve. Arthur. If it involves Arthur, she melts down. But we don’t know why yet, and the reason clearly isn’t nt because she’s in love with him.

Favorite is how great Lord Mel is. Least favorite is the way Zeldris and Ban has been handled.

This as well. Although this has more to do with the population of female chars as opposed to males rather than just a negative portrayal.

Well for Zeldris it's not getting enough time to shine. For Ban it's the length it's taken to receive his power up.

I agree with Zeldris (His moment will come when Gelda get's brought up. Somehow Meliodas having blasted a crater when confronted by her is gonna get revealed and Zel snaps.). Though with Ban, I don't think a power up was ever necessary, it seemed forced that they made him seem so useless against Melasculla (couldn't steal her heart. HE'S HELPLESS inspite of being able to steal perception strength and likely vitality.) Ban power was so versitile that one wasn't necessary and it was forced and show lack of imagination or awareness on Nakaba part.
