While it's not my favorite genre, I like most horror concepts or stories.
Contrary to popular belief there are a lot of great horror movies, every year we get a few good ones.
But it's not the type of movie I would go for if I had to choose, a few of my favorite movies are horror though.
have you guys ever played horror games?
Yes. And I'm not afraid to admit that I'm afraid when I play them, some I completed, like Dead Space 1/2.
Those took me months and a few tries, but I pulled them off.
Stuff like Outlast or P.T. are great and scary as fuck, so I hesitate a lot while playing too, but eventually I get bored of those since there are no interesting developments in those games.
are you afraid of ghosts?
In media? No.
In real life? Those things
probably don't exist.
please tell us your scariest ghost story/experience!
One time we (two of my best friends and me) decided to take a random walk.
We decided to take a walk to that old coal-mountain in the distance we could see from our city. (Without any preparation or stuff)
It was literally a mountain of coal, it used to be a gathering place, but as time went on they just shoved it all on each other.
Anyway, the walk turned out to be a 5-hour hike into Germany, we had a lot of fun. All three of us got injured by stupid stuff while traversing forbidden properties, roads. Fell from fences and one of us fell in a river when we were walking over a tree trunk.
In the end, we got there, and it took us almost 2 hours to actually get on top, we looked disgusting, everything was colored black because of the coal and the dirt.
But we made it there, we were dead-tired so we decided to stay there for a while.
We saw one of the most glorious sunsets I've ever seen and we just stayed there, talking for hours, having a blast.
When it was around 01:30 at night, we remembered that we had a 5 hour hike to do, or at least, a solid way down and look for a cab.
We tried to find a way down, but not the way we came up, it was pitch-black that would've been too dangerous.
Believe it or not.. we actually found a path.. It went all the way round the mountain, but we decided to take it anyway.
I think in the end it went 3 times around the mountain before we got down, we almost walked for 2 hours.
Pfff. We joked we rather fell or rolled down the original 'path' we took.
Once we were down on ground-level we were in a forest, on the other side of the mountain than where we got there. There was no way to the other side of the mountain besides going up, so we decided to walk through the pitch-black forest. We kept joking around about horror scenarios, making ourselves
really afraid.
We were walking together, in a row, with no space between us, that's how scared we made ourselves. I kept joking about the fact that I didn't want to be the last in line because those always get picked off first in movies.
Then it hit me,
HOW FUNNY WOULD IT BE TO SCARE THEM?! Not the most brilliant idea in that situation, but I grabbed the friend in front of me with more strenght than necessary and just screamed at the top of my lungs.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHGHGHHHH!!!!!!"
But were scared shitless and RAN. They ran as fast and as hard as they could. I was laughing, but once I realized I was alone.. I RAN!
We ran until all the air left our lungs, we took a breather and saw light in the distance. FREEDOM! SAFETY!
Or so we thought, The path to the main street outside of the forest was at least another 500 meter, if not more, but maybe a meter or 100 in front of us there was a building. A big-ass scary full-metal building, a giant fence around it with more barb-wire and other 'spiky' stuff as security. The lights surrounding the building has a scary shade of orangy-red, making the atmosphere heavy, leaving us short of breath. It looked like it came out of a very scary and terrifying horror movie.
There was even an old sign, barely hanging on the side of the building.
IT WAS A FUCKING SLAUGHTERHOUSE!
We wanted to go home so badly, but how were we supposed to be able to walk past it? For sure we would trip some kind of alarm, they'd see us or something else. No way we were getting out of that forest alive.
But no. No. I decided to put up a brave (or stupid reckless) face and decide that I could easily sneak past it, just keeping to the shadows.
And it was working, I was half-way there, I was in front of the gate and that's when....
I froze!! I couldn't move anymore, I was to afraid, I thought that if I moved that gate would fly open and I would get grabbed or shish-kebab'd. I turned my head around slowly, trying to take a peek at my friends. Wanting to warn them that they should stay there.
When I turned around, however, my arm got grabbed, I screamed, and all three of us ran to the open street.
My arm got grabbed because my friends started running, #YOLO.
We reached the street, turns out that side of the mountain was in the middle of nowhere.. We had to walk all the way around it, only to come into a village that was dead because it was so late at night. So.. we walked.. By the time public transportation started or we saw a cab or something, we were already far enough to save that money and just walk.
While nothing happened, that was one of the most terrifying moments in my life. In all three of our lives. We still talk about it plenty of times, sometimes we laugh.. sometimes ... we don't.

That was in the fall of 2007.
There's another short story about walking the dogs into a forest that was used to kill of priests and nuns in the olden days, but I'll tell that another time.
