I had issues with that tbh '-' After the talk with Howard about Chuck. Felt out of character, imo.And the way Jimmy was portrayed in that episodes was amazing.

Hmm, yeah. I guess you could see it that way. But that incident left him a changed man, a broken man. I don't think he really knew what to do with all of that happening. Especially not with Howard talking Chuck up like that, Jimmy knew better. Chuck's an asshole.I had issues with that tbh '-' After the talk with Howard about Chuck. Felt out of character, imo.
It was meh - but I dunno what else to watch, or rather, don't want to make a choice from the list I have...Did you like season 1 at least?
Pretty sure I saw that during season one.but you.. kind of have to see the trainwreck it becomes.
There's 8 seasons of this?!?Season 4-8 is some of the worst television ever created, truly horrible.

FTFYRick's personality is just too 2d.
He's the typical 'AMERICAN cop' archetype
Except your dog can't go out and by some grilled meat '-'There's a place just downstairs that grills meat, the smell is entering the house... I feel like my dog when my mom is cooking dinner.
Subtle hints are the best kind HardyExcept your dog can't go out and by some grilled meat '-'
The summary of the show:One of the best things about zombies is that they encourage interesting character progression and force unexpected changes in group dynamics.

Are you saying she is poorly trained?Except your dog can't go out and by some grilled meat '-'
Rick...changes rather drastically after the first couple of seasons, and after a major event at the end of Season 2. I won't spoil anything though. But he is definitely not a white hat throughout the entire season. In fact, a major theme is him and the survivors sort of becoming the type of people they fought with in earlier seasons, and that the apocalypse sort of "demands" that if you want to survive, etc.Rick's personality is just too 2d.
He's the typical 'hero cop' archetype, which people who don't know how to write morally ambiguous characters falls into easily.
Even the people I thought might become 'grey' turned out to fall firmly into the typical 'goodie'/'baddie' roles.
Let me choose?!It was meh - but I dunno what else to watch, or rather, don't want to make a choice from the list I have...

Rick, or at least the actor I guess, has some brilliant moments in the series, but the more attention a character got the more I hated them.Rick's personality is just too 2d.

Characters like his are why I really dislike most American comics (DC and Marvel I mean. Not smaller, more independent, publishers); all the characters are [with very few modifications] pretty much interchangeable.
It's a crying shame.
I really wanted to like this series.
Zombie Apocalypse is definitely interesting, and I'd prefer it to be a pure drama. There's no real need for gore, action or adventure. Show us the psychological consequences an event like this has.One of the best things about zombies is that they encourage interesting character progression and force unexpected changes in group dynamics.
It's actually a great setting (zombie 'apocalypse' I mean), one which is often criminally, carelessly, and clumsily, utilized [yeah, I love alliteration, and what?!?]
It's a pity that few competent writers ever try to tackle it.
Speaking of that, I'd love to see a zombie story in a medieval setting.
I think it makes more sense - as, let's be fair, these 'walkers' could never lead to an apocalypse in the real world, but might be able to in a 'less developed' one.
I guess this all depends of your interpretation of that whole episode, Grace though the same about it as you. Clearly I disagreed.Chuck was an asshole, yeah. But Jimmy was always hopelessly feeling guilty for anything. Felt weird to see him getting relieved with Howard's reveal.

Season 9 is on it's way. There's 8 seasons of this?!?

We're actually picking it up again for those same reasons, not investing in it, just morbid curiosity. My wife dropped it S8E02, I dropped it after the first half ended.I sort of have a morbid curiosity with the series going forward though. This last season saw them stray majorly from the source material with killing a major character off, and next season there's at least one more instance of that. Whether the show can recover and survive with these kinds of things is interesting to me from a narrative standpoint. Plus there's a new showrunner, and generally the show "improves" in a way after that.
Go for it - though, I'd prefer for it to be on Netflix if possible (just due to me paying for this account and wanting to use it)Let me choose?!![]()
The spin-off has 4 seasons now with a 5th on it's way. And believe it or not, the characters are equally stupid.
First thing that came to mind (because you mentioned Netflix) was Altered Carbon.Go for it - though, I'd prefer for it to be on Netflix if possible (just due to me paying for this account and wanting to use it)
I'll probably start it when back from Japan, however.
That's one of the reasons why I am sticking with TWD - I don't want to start something, then leave it alone for 3 weeks [if it's any good].

At least watch season 3 and 4 IMO. Some people were definitely annoyed by season 2, I do remember that. The show moved to more than 6 episodes from it's first season, they switched showrunners, so there were definitely some growing pains. That's one of the reasons why I am sticking with TWD - I don't want to start something, then leave it alone for 3 weeks [if it's any good].

Nah, that's just a red herring IMO. If both shows make AMC money, there's no reason to combine them.Think they are really going to push this Fear merger...milk the cow
