Blank panels in HxH was kind of weird, why come off of hiatus just to fail to do backgrounds and have blank panels. weird.

Im from JPN was amazing. If only we had Tokio-Butt too. more please.

Also its always funny to see all the JPN kids shows and their love of BUTTs, the running thing in HeroBank (best one ever) then some moments in the anime adaptation of the kids jump series 1000% Pascal-Sensei.

I can't believe they are going to adapt 20 volumes in 12 episodes.

This is Tokyo Ghoul:RE Season 2 levels of bad.

If they try to fit in even 8 volumes into 12 episodes, that already becomes cuts galore. My guess is a split cour but even then that means around 25 episodes altogether. 20 volumes in 25 episodes is honestly Houshin Engi remake tier.

Man the Hinomaru Zumo anime is the one that I want to succeed the most out of the upcoming Jump anime because all the other ones have already established themselves in the magazine popularity wise.

On the other hand I pretty much expect it to have an insignificant effect on the manga sales and then it'll end within a year of the anime ending. It sucks but the reality is that sumo just doesn't appeal to the kids.

They do seem to be doing the best they can with what they were given though. I know some people aren't fond of the "prettied up" designs, but I honestly think it's for the best for both parties (manga fans and newcomers).

The sheer fact that its gone on this long despite low sales means that its appealing to some demo and its possible that kids are in that demo. Why that popularity didn't translate to volume sales is a mystery but at the least they should have tried to get it on NHK-E or even NHK-G. Its on the regular Tokyo MX and whatnot which means that only certain locations will be able to watch it on TV. In this age its usually not a big problem but a little more exposure on TV nation-wide doesn't hurt. I guess the producers didn't see it worthy to get on there or something else is up.

Imagine if it really is 12 episodes and the series ends around this coming January- February. Realistically that seems impossible as the tournament is still going on but its possible Kawada finishes up the tournament and leaves it as an "Ushio will continue his journey" type of ending. :emocat

Man if the anime ends up being a big rushed 12 episode mess and not doing the manga any benefit, I would of prefered for it to not have any anime to begin with things being how they are. Just letting Kawada do his things, have his own pace and giving Hinomaru Zumou the proper conclusion it deserves at its due time.

I mean I wouldn’t mind if it ended once this tournament came to a natural end. I feel that’d be pretty satisfactory. Although I also like to hope the five series buffer and Yuuna possibly ending within that period will somewhat extend it’s life. :emocat

The fact that Zumou still is on the magazine after all those years is insane considering it's sales. Laserbeam sold more than it and was cancelled. lol

Yes please, take Yuuna instead. This latest arc was one of the saddest excuses for a battle arc that I've ever seen.

You just don't understand Tadahiro's vision bruh. One word: :datassOuga.

HZ is a passion project as one would called it. Not exactly one to one but in a magazine there are manga that sell, which brings profit to the magazine, which then give the editor the ability to take risk with passionate unique project that may not translate to sales wise. Again not exactly one to one.
Like the latest series that ended that i think fits the bill is Sesuji wo pin. The manga went on for 2 years with ~30k sales, and I don't think it got axed BECAUSE it entered the final arc in the ~50th~60 chapter. I think you would find these "passionate projects" in Sunday.

about sesuji, the gap between it and shuudan was really short wasn't it. and he got another job immediately after that ended as well.

he still needs to return though, because I want to find out what happened to the other 2 MCs of koganeiro

Gender bending the National Treasures and even Jinou would be the next big thing!
