There hasn't even been confirmation of the release date yet iicrc
I know but Yonkou said it's coming Spring 2019 and as far as I know that's the only rumor about release date but the person I replied to said
Lol all seriousness hope he'll take that L gracefully if the air date rumor is true
unless they meant false I'm wondering what rumor I missed.

what air date rumor? Is there someone saying MHA is coming not Spring 2019?
Before the final episode of MHA S3, Yonkou suggested on Twitter that "HeroAca fans don't count your chickens before the hatch" and then later when S4 was confirmed, he said "It was never about *if* but *when*", and said he would explain soon, but then never did and now he lists MHA S4 among the series starting in Spring 2019 (which is the date literally everybody expected).

Well he has to have someway to get people to click his twitter profile to give him more views on youtube, so what better way than to make a groundbreaking announcement that everybody and their grandmas already guessed.

Yeah basically that. Nothing serious implied cause we're all wrong at times but admitting it is what people struggle with. Either way, still would like to see something new that will garner big discussion, act age is 2018 best series but doesn't garner big discussion. Someone brought it up but jump should get its own goblin slayer which is looking like that weekly trigger-type of series darlifra was.

I dont think Darling in the Franxx was as big as people said, look at how it's just vanished from public eye in the similar way Kiznaiver is nothingness.

I dont know why jump would somehow have waited this long to have an answer to Goblin Slayer, actually where would it even fit when we have multiple fantasy series in the magazine.

Darling In The FrankXX was huge when I started. It died out because the second half was terrible, so it didn’t hold the momentum of its hype. Similar case with Kiznaiver

personally I think Kiznaiver is a underrated series though

We've had a bunch of edgy series in wsj in the past few years but most have either been too infodump heavy or taken too long being normal school life before making the twist. Perhaps they do need to take after Goblin Slayer and put the bare minimum possible effort put into the setting and characters.

Maybe because Goblin Slayer is a light novel series and not a manga series, and also, because Goblin Slayer sells less than even the Darling FranXX spin-off manga.

Goblin Slayer Volume 7 last March (sales for Volume 8 this month are not really charted yet), was 28k after two weeks; meanwhile, Darling FranXX spin-off manga Volume3 (which came out four months after the anime ended) still sold 48k copies in its first week.

It's not really a spin-off, it's a manga adaptation of the anime.
And Goblin Slayer selling 28k as a LN is great. LN is a market much smaller than manga so not really comparable.

For manga sales, Goblin Slayer is doing well with it's manga adaptation and it's two side manga, comparable to the Franxx manga adaptation:
12. *42,547 *,*42,547 Goblin Slayer: Brand New Day Vol.1
19. *24,642 *,102,686 Goblin Slayer Vol.5
33. *15,275 *,*70,054 Goblin Slayer Gaiden: Year One Vol.2

Yeah, yeah, that's what I meant.

Still, Darling FranXX still outsold that with the first two volumes selling ca. 120k, but that's not the point: the original argument was that Jump needs to get an answer to Goblin Slayer because of its success, and while yes, Goblin Slayer is doing very well for a LN series, it's not like that is something Jump needs to jump on the bandwagon for because of the sales, especially since they are already covering the fantasy genre with Black Clover and Kimetsu no Yaiba.

Not sure how many of you backed, if any, the Kimagure Orange Road kickstarter shipped for the backers. Really high quality from what I'm hearing. The manga at least, there were other rewards. And here I'm regretting for backing only 1$ and now who know how much time to wait until the public can get their hands on this Jump classic.

I don't see why Jump needs an answer to Goblin Slayer, it's the new big anime, but it'll probably be forgotten a few months once it's over like every other anime (unless it gets a second season, but chances are kind of low, given that it's an LN adaptation). The tone of the series just doesn't fit with Jump, people read the magazine for "friendship, effort and victory", something really dark where people get killed and raped wouldn't really mesh well with the rest of the magazine, and people might not react well. Just look at Ziga.
