But everyone says the game is made for the west. Is kochikame a thing in the western world?

I doubt having few characters from Kochikame is gonna tarnish the game's desire to cater to the western market.

So I finished reading Muhyo and Roji a few days ago. While somehwat interesting and I did enjoy it, it actually kinda felt like what would happen if you let a series that should’ve been cancelled continue to its conclusion.

Every single character ended the series exactly the same as when they were introduced, with zero character growth. We don’t really find out anything about anyone. The “best friend goes to the dark side” was done pretty badly, and the reason all these people went to the dark side was literally the same... Not to mention the story reached its conclusion, but kept going, introducing another one-off villain and the reasons the MC couldn’t curb stomp him were about as dumb as they get. Then it just finished up awkwardly in a few chapters and was very unsatisfying.

Will probably still give the sequel a read, but its a weird series. What I can say after reading it though is that the anime actually did a pretty good job, so that’s something I guess.

This was the main thing that bothered me about Hitman Reborn. It bothered me how after hundreds of chapters Tsuna hardly changed from his chapter 1 shtick. It boggles my mind how he's still popular enough to be continuously highly requested for Jump Force.

Jump Force is a fighting game, Tsuna is the main character from a very popular battle shounen manga and his "fighting" form is super badass with flame powers. Is really hard to understand why people want him in the game? who cares if he barelly changed from chapter 1 kkkk

I’m really excited for Jump Force, and had fun with the first beta. So I’m without a doubt buying the game.

I’m gonna hold out and hope that some JoJo characters and some of the more obscure characters like Tsuna, Gintoki, Toriko etc. get announced before release(obscure from a Worldwide POV)

But I’m really, really disappointed with the lack of new Jump character. Excluding MHA And Black Clover, I think Bleach is the newest series to have characters playable, so the game is surverely lacking on new Jump characters.

Where’s Assassination Classroom? Katekyo Hitman Reborn? Black Cat? D Gray Man? World Trigger?
MHA and Black Clover should have way more playable characters than just Asta and Deku. We should have at least Bakugo and All Might From MHA. And at least Yuno and Yami From Black Clover.
The series is new, but Tanjirou and maybe a couple other Kimetsu No Yaiba characters would have been great.
Ryo from City Hunter is in the game. So I think Emma from Neverland could definitely have worked(although maybe they don’t want to spoil Anime onlys). Senku From Dr.Stone could have worked as well.

Bandai is able to produce DBZ and Naruto games with like 300 playable characters. I think could have given us a waaaay bigger rouster.

I don’t mind that characters that nobody asked for, like Sabo, Boa Hancock, Kaguya and Gaara are in the game. But there is a couple dozen other characters that could have been prioritized over them

My main problem with the game, I'll still buy it just like I did with J-stars and 2 DS games, but it's really bothering me.
We still don't know if Ryotsu won't be there but with all the marketing to a western audience I won't be surprise If he won't be there.
They are also adding non-manga stuff like the blue SSJ and golden Frieza...

Not in WSJ, If they are going all out and adding spinoff not in WSJ for the WSJ game, I want Ninku new power up from 2nd Stage (Ultra Jump) Jojolion (Ultra Jump) and others, and then It'll be a mess.

I understand where you’re coming from, however DBS is pretty much a phenomenon right.
Honestly I think it be pretty foolish of them not to include anything related to DBS in the game. And at least you could say there’s a DBS manga.

And tbh, had they not included Super Saiyan Blue, we all know western fans(idk about Japanese fans) would complain and constantly ask about why the newest Super Saiyan Forms aren’t in the game

Hulu Japan annual series ranking: https://www.happyon.jp/static/ranking/

Anime Ranking 2018
1. Detective Conan
2. Gintama
3. My Hero Academia
4. BORUTO - NARUTO NEXT GENERATIONS
5. Black Clover
6. Cells at Work!
7. Tokyo Ghoul:re
8. Pop Team Epic
9. The Seven Deadly Sins
10. Attack on Titan
Would be nice if the companies gave numbers out but still a good find. dTV released their top 10 anime rankings as well: https://pc.video.dmkt-sp.jp/ft/s0007082

1. Nanatsu no Taizai
2. Detective Conan
3. Attack on Titan
4. Cells at Work!
5. My Hero Academia Season 3
6. Tokyo Ghoul re:
7. Black Clover
8. Dragon Ball Resurrection of F
9. Bleach
10. Osomatsu-san

The two lists are fairly similar, although dTV sorta hampers Gintama's overall numbers by splitting them into many parts, like splitting the original 2006-2010 run into four parts and giving Gintama' and Gintama° their own separate entries unlike Hulu. Also the live action mini-series for Gintama that came out with the 2nd live action movie was the most watched series overall for all categories.

At least Tsuna grew in terms of fighting and went from useless to badass in that sense, even if his character remained shitty. I would actually quite like him in Jump Force myself (though I’m still not going to get it lol). Muhyo didn’t even have that. The only reasons he couldn’t curbstomp everything were just there for plot convenience really, and once they were resolved, he proceeded to curbstomp. In a battle manga (Muhyo is one, even if it doesn’t seem so early on), you’d expect at least that much.
