Glad Act-Age gets the cover for the anniversary! WSJ giving CPs to Yuuna and HZ as the bottomers is not surprising since they are in danger the most right now besides the newbies. The rest is mostly around the same as usual.

Poor week for We Never Learn it seems. Chainsawman gets the first True ranking next week.

Last time I checked, there are no rules where it says something needs to get a color page on its 8th chapter as proof that it's doing well.

However there's a clear correlation with popular series from the getgo getting a cp around 8th or 9th chapter.
There's no need for condescension when you're the one wrong.

And there are also plenty of popular series that never got color pages at around that point and they still did fine. Maybe you shouldn't expect it to be "ultra" popular from the start.

Series like Shudan, Barrage and Hungry Marie got color pages early in their run, and all were failures. Act Age and Jujutsu didn't get their first color pages until around 15-20 chapters, and they're the closest to success of recent Jump series.

All three of those were by vets of series that didn't get cancelled within 20 chapters. Normal for Jump to give those Manga an extra push. Just as common as new popular series getting early color pages around that time.

It's as if you guys don't actually follow the magazine or something.

Black Clover got the CP in its 11th chapter, Assassination Classroom in its 10th, Kimetsu no Yaiba in its 16th, Bakuman in its 11th, The Promised Neverland in its 10th, We Never Learn in its 10th, Hinomaru Zumou in its 12th and so on.

While for example Toriko, Beelzebub, Kuroko no Basuke, Nisekoi, Dr. Stone, Robot x Laserbeam, Souma, Yuuna, World Trigger, BHA did get their CPs either for the 8th or for the 9th chapters, it is not a strict rule.

I mentioned even more examples up from your post. Even things like BC has to wait till 11th chapter to get a CP. 9th and 8th CP rule simply does not exist, a popular manga will get a CP shortly before or after its first ranking. THAT is the rule most of time and even there we had outliers like Kimetsu.
