I imagine they'll fill the gaps for most of the series with digital volumes to buy.

I wonder if they'll bother for Zumou though, it would take a bit long considering it'll probably end quite soon.

DoA if you have to buy Hinomaru Zumou volumes to fill the gap. That's going to be so expensive.

Now that official translations are globally available, I hope scan groups drop those series. Sure it's nice to get chapters early, but it's harmful to the mangaka and publishers, and now that it's not region locked, there's really no reason to continue.

Really cool app. Although, is there a way to display double page spreads correctly, instead of having them as 2 separate pages?
On the web reader, switch to horizontal mode to view double spreads. Then switch back to vertical so reading isn't cancer.

Agreed and for the scans coming out later and later there's just really no point. Jump is really outdoing themselves lol I love it.

This is a game changer.
this is basically all I've thought about for the past hour. It really feels surreal that it's actually happening and seeing these obscure jump+ manga actually have translations now, out of the blue, is crazy. Here's hoping they continue to add smaller manga to the app

My main point on why the speedscan should die retire are

-this service are available globally so no need to go around loophole to read them like previously with viz,
-it is free
-all of the jump series (- Yuuna) are available
-ripper will just rip this one (they shouldn't but you know it is inevitable) so the 6 chapters thing are a non issue
-speedscan ruins the quality, reader doesn't actually get the true full experience of reading jump

Hooray! FINALLY CAUGHT UP WITH HZ! (Well almost but whatever) do feel a bit bad for Fallen Angels potentially droping their translations; even with this app, FA still bothers to translate any extra content from the volumes

This a very solid volumes cover round, even with Soma being a shell of its former self, Tosh's art is still a sight to behold

The only jump series that should continue at this point is Yuna which isn't covered on the app.

Well this is a pleasant surprise considering it's worldwide, I do appreciate that. The reader is great, they need to fix the spreads though. It's weird to see a manga publisher actually try to offer a service that isn't complete garbage. It's about time they actually had a convenient useful service considering how much competition the pirate websites have to offer. I guess they finally realized we're in 2019 or something.

It definitely isn't perfect, but it sure is fucking better than nothing and for the longest time worldwide fans mostly had nothing.

I feel like the selection from other Jump magazines could be better, but I assume they'll add more things as time goes by.

I'm sure they are hoping that Kishimoto's new series will be really popular on the service, they're probably banking on it.

Question: the scans for the current WSJ lineup on this new service are released on Sundays as usual, right?

From the FAQ section.

When are comics updated?
As comics are released at the same time as in Japan, according to Japan Time. Basically, comics from “Weekly Shonen Jump” are updated at 5 am Japan Time and other comics are updated at 0 am Japan Time.

You can check the date and time of the next update by looking at the top of each comic’s detail page. Please also note that changes to our update schedule may occur.

Yuuna missing means Seven Seas don't want any part of it as they are the current license holder, meaning To Love Ru and World End Harem also won't be in the new app.

2 things really scaring me with this new options for readers
- people will stop buying print
- Viz/other will stop printing

I really love reading my manga in print :(

Jimoto ga Japan is actually pretty funny. It's not that high quality of a manga but as someone putting together a Japan itinerary the references were pretty nice, and the absurb humor, even if it can be cringe, got me a few times. It almost felt like.. Gintama.

Yo Jump Plus titles be weird as fuuuuck.

Finally, I can read all jump (legally) even in my neck of the woods. Well, some series are missing, especially of the lewd variety, but hey, better than nothing. Hope they add more stuff from the other Jump magazines soon. Still, it's a great step.

Great move from Shueisha, though I am not sure what is the reason for re-serializing the old manga. I would understand if they add a chapter per day or 2 days, but 1 per week for something that can be easily read anywhere else....seriously?

Happy Hinomaru Zumou and David are now getting official translations.

Viz wouldnt stop printing and give up their position as #1 american manga publisher for a model that doesnt currently generate as much profit.

It is commendable that heroaca has blown everything else out the water with its volume of comments on its chapter. Only boruto and BLack clover come close to halfway.
