I imagine/hope the idea for now is to simulpub every series in WSJ except I guess the really heavy fanservice stuff (unless Yuuna's just a licensing issue with Seven Seas getting it?). I can't imagine we'd see David or I'm From Japan if they weren't planning on bringing over everything besides the oneshots.
I definitely think Yuuna's situation is a problem with Seven Seas rather than the actual content of the series.

I'd imagine Viz will be getting everything that isn't ecchi/obscure gag now, since they can't afford to give up a potentially good license to another publisher, and they don't have the freedom to just sit on them anymore since Shueisha will just give it to someone else.

No TV mark here. Might be a movie. Remake of some old big arc

Gintama's anime announcement PV.
Translation thanks to ANN: Gintama Production Committee: Production on Gintamaanime's brand-new project green-lit … probably. Since the manga isn't over yet…. But we think we're gonna do it, we guess. Well, just get ready."

Well, there's the equivalent of 21 chapters (since the GIGA ones were 3x normal length) and I imagine there'll be a few more chapters on that app before it airs.

So even though Gintama definitely still won't have managed to end yet there will at least be enough to fill up 1 cour or a movie, even if it's at a slower pace than recent seasons (or with a couple filler eps to allow a little better pacing of the canon stuff).

What's everyone's bets on when the Gintama manga will actually finally manage to end? Seriously though it's been about to end for at least 2 years now.

my guess is late 2020, though it'll get a spin-off on Jump+ or that app immediately afterwards and start up a proper sequel in 2023 or something.

The manga's movement to the app makes it increasingly difficult to predict when chapters will be out, let alone the manga ending. I had imagined the Matsuri being the perfect event to announce Gintama's new anime but I never thought the manga would still be ongoing at this point. Either Sorachi has established proper communication with the anime staff this time, they are taking one massive gamble or the anime announcement is just a placeholder to let fans know of future plans.

For people who had any doubts, the teaser is up on MangaPlus.

Viz also changed the header to "This weekend: A new series begins! Introducing The Last Saiyuki! Plus 18 more new chapters!"

Well since this'll be on MangaPlus, it looks like I won't have to wait much longer to see what this is all about. I like the art, but it seems kind of sad. I'll reserve judgement until the English is out, but at the very least, at least both this and the other new series look visually pleasing. Out of the Dark Trio, I'd rank them Ne0 > Higuma > Chainsawman in terms of how I like the artwork, and Higuma > Ne0 > Chainsawman for how I like the story.

With 5 new series, 3 veterans that seem to be winding down, and 2 more growing ones that say they're over halfway done, things in the TOC are starting to get pretty interesting again. I wonder what will come to fill the void once things like Neverland or Kimetsu end.

Ne0lation's art is by far it's best side it has. The artist is really talented in drawing characters and objects in motion with a lot of detail, and it really shows. It's a shame it seems done, either next WSJ issue, or in April for the next axe round.

That is why I wanted these 3 newbies to do well, because the situation could have been way wy, way more interesting with Yuuna, HZ and Souma being down. The tables seems to have turned and now HZ and Yuuna are far away from the bottom for now.

WSJ also has a massive pressure in 2 veterans ending like you said, so they may be more agressive to find new hits.

Luckily Jump managed to find Act-Age and Jujutsu Kaisen in 2018, that will really help. Things like HZ, Shokugeki no Soma and Yuuna are also probably getting closer and closer to their conclusions.

It would be ideal if Jump can get at least two successful series from 2019. I'm rooting for Chainsaw Man, but it's hard to say what future it has right now. There are a lot of hopes for Kishimoto's new series, but that isn't necessarily safe, it could end up being another Platinum End or something like that.

And man,I regret updating Manga Plus because now every menu is in spanish. I still can read the manga in english but I would like the menu to be in english as well.

I hope they update with a option to change the languages because now I can't even see the author comments.

I just took a peak at some recent Soma chapters and it broke my heart. I know it still sells, even if its much much less than its peak, more than much of the other series presently in the magazine, but please put this series out of its misery. It's truly a shell of its former glory. I never read Zumo, but since the anime couldn't even give it a boost, I'd say it's probably time to throw in the towel after all these years. I'm too biased in favor of Yuuna, especially since the last few chapters were some of the best, most emotional chapters of the series. I'm a Yuuna fan all the way, but my gosh, Chisaki is a close second.

I don't dislike any of the Dark Trio, but none have majorly won me over either. They're a step-up from some things like Ziga, Full Drive, and the shogi one, but they haven't captured me like Act-Age or David-kun.
