Well..... That was dark, like some folks said. Last Saiyuki had a good hook, but it's a question of whether the premise is sustainable enough for it to last. Also, we don't know where the Journey to the west's influence is yet.

I will give Saiyuki more chapters, but for now it's meh for me. Overall as a chapter it was well done. But it didn't grab me to want to follow further than this.
Curious to see how this develops.

I thought the emotion was well done between Ryonosuke and Kuroha. If she can create beings based on people’s fears there’ll more than likely be people targeting her for possible terrorism. Also the first page is probably in the future and she destroys the world possibly? Thought it was a good first chap

Definitely agree with the sentiments on here about it being pretty dark. The art is good, but the chapter seemed to randomly lunge forward in time and events at a pretty rapid pace. That may have just been to jam in as much backstory as possible in order to get to the main plot points, but I'm a bit anxious to see how the author's pacing will be in the next few chapters.

ne0;lation continues to be incredibly intense wow. And Im glad it isnt using the hacking to make everyone instant gods since brother Taa still needs to make some effort. Honestly impressed at how strong this manga's writing continues to be.

I thought the new series had a solid start.

At first the pacing felt a bit off, but as it went on, it felt more so like it was doing montage of how Ryososuke grew to like Konoha. I actually like how it was paced.
I actually like both of them as characters as well.
Art was pretty good.

I really liked Saiyuki. Up there with Chainsaw Man as my favorite on this year between the new series.

Saiyuki was decent, wouldnt have done the love aspect, feels inspired from Twin Star in that aspect which is unexciting to have a clone of this sort. Can only assume theres more divine thingamabobbers out there and that the father belongs to a sect that studies them.

Honestly, I may have to partially agree with you on this one. I hope they keep this as a familial love rather than a romantic one, especially since they're elementary schoolers. The scene where she let him out of the shed was super emotional, and I'm hoping the father will end up saying something along the lines of her needing a figure she could love/trust/rely upon, like an older brother. Depending on how the next few chapters go will determine how closely I'll follow along

I was fine with Saiyuki when I first read it but upon re-reading it I'm not entirely sure about having an 8-9 year old suddenly have the responsibility of having to look after someone a year younger and even stop going to school to do so. Then there's locking him in the storeroom as punishment which was basically to have him sympathize with Koharu and set up her power. The series seems to be going for the long run hook as opposed to grabbing you in the first chapter. I hope the mangaka can have a great hook by chapter 3 though or this series will get axed similar to Ziga which also didn't have its hook until later chapters.
